When i try to access a banking internet site they tell me java script is not enabled
I get an error message saying my browser is not equipped with java script and i cannot log into the site
The global setting is here:
orange Firefox button ''or'' Tools menu > Options > Content > "Enable JavaScript"
''If you have the NoScript add-on,'' then you need to allow the site in the add-on's white list.
If neither of those explains it, and you were able to use this site successfully before, a good "first thing to try" is clearing your Firefox cache and deleting your saved cookies for the site.
1. Clear Firefox's Cache
orange Firefox button ''or'' Tools menu > Options > Advanced
On the Network mini-tab > Offline Storage : "Clear Now"
2. If needed, delete the site's cookies here
While viewing a page on the site, right-click and choose View Page Info > Security > "View Cookies"
Here you can remove ally.com cookies. (If allybank.com doesn't forward you automatically, try going directly to ally.com)
Then try reloading the page. Does that help?

ally bank would not even let me try to log in, their site says they use Java, DOM and Java Script and that my browser (Firefox) does not support these. I have reloaded firefox several times I do not know how to enable these languages. thanks for your help
For JavaScript
: Tools > Options > Content > (turn on) JavaScript
For Java, verify if you have Java:
if not download
:http://www.java.com/en/download/
watch out for crapware installation of the Yahoo Toolbar being packaged with Java ([http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/266/javainstall.png/ picture]). -

This is the error. I have an appointment this afternoon with our IT to see if it is at our end—this is what the Adobe Tech recommended.
The server at ims-na1.adobelogin.com can't be found, because the DNS lookup failed. DNS is the network service that translates a website's name to its Internet address. This error is most often caused by having no connection to the Internet or a misconfigured network. It can also be caused by an unresponsive DNS server or a firewall preventingGoogle Chrome from accessing the network.
Error code: DNS_PROBE_FINISHED_NXDOMAIN

When I try to access GameCenter on my Mac it says "The requested operation could not be completed due to an error communicating with the server." How can I fix this?
This usually caused by a customised hosts file.
These need to be the only entries in your /etc/hosts file:-
# Host Database
# localhost is used to configure the loopback interface
# when the system is booting. Do not change this entry.
127.0.0.1 localhost
255.255.255.255 broadcasthost
::1 localhost
fe80::1%lo0 localhost
Remove anything below these entries, then try and reconnect with GC. Once GC starts properly you can put the extra entries back in your hosts file, GC should start normally afterwards.

Yet when I use the same address in IE it launches ok'
My O/S is Windows 7 Home Premium Sevice Pack 1 (x64 based}I can access the Bank's site from the link in your post above.
Try clearing cache and cookies. Also consider what settings you have on any privacy or ad-blocking software. Blocking ad's may speed things up or it may conceivably block access.
If you have problems with only one site and only in Firefox, the problem is often outdated or corrupt files relating to that web page. I suggest you try the following.
*Note <br /> It '''looks''' complicated but check the site after each numbered step, the first or 2nd step may solve the problem<br /> The linked articles have '''pictures''' ( screen shots) of the actions you need.
# Try using the sites home page or a direct link and not a bookmark.<br /> Try link http://www.santander.co.uk
# Reload website using an extra step to use avoid using the cached info.
#* Hold down the Shift key and left-click the Reload button <br />OR Press '"Ctrl + F5"' |(Mac ) "Cmd + Shift + R"
#Clear the cache, and cookies only from problem websites.
##<u>Remove the cookies </u>for a single problem website <br />Use: FirefoxButton / Tools → Options → |Privacy| → "Remove individual cookies"<br /> See: [[Delete cookies to remove the information websites have stored on your computer#w_delete-cookies-for-a-single-site]]'''_delete-cookies-for-a-single-site'''
## <u>Clear the cache</u> <br />Use ''FirefoxButton / Tools → Options → |Advanced | → Network >'' <br /> See: [[How to clear the Firefox cache#w_clear-the-cache]]_clear-the-cache
# If the above did not work try in Firefox'[http://kb.mozillazine.org/Safe_Mode s] Safe Mode to check if an extension or some other factor causes the issue. <br /> Use: FirefoxButton /Tools → Help → ''Restart with Addons disabled... When I try to access certain listings on eBay I get the following message:
"Unfortunately, access to this particular listing or item has been blocked due to a Paris commercial court decision that bans trade of certain authentic perfumes and cosmetic products on eBay because of French selective distribution laws. eBay is appealing this ruling but is nevertheless required to enforce it. We are blocking your viewing in an effort to comply with this court decision. Regrettably, in some cases, we may prevent users from accessing items that are not within the scope of the decision because of limitations on existing technology."
eBay support told me it is because they think I am in France or because I am using a French ISP. I am in London and am using the British ISP, Bethere. What can I do to convince them that I am in England?
The URL quoted is just an example. It happens frequently with other listings. This is what I get:
ISP: Be Un Limited
Organization: Be Un Limited
Connection: Broadband
Services: None Detected
City: Horsham
Region: West Sussex
Country: United Kingdom
It can't be a problem with my ISP or my IP address since it only happens with Firefox. When I try out the same listings with other browsers it doesn't happen. eBay said Firefox must be making it seem as though I am in France. Goodness knows how or why?? -

The bank page appears blank with the text "Firefox prevented this page from automatically redirecting to another page". I must then click on "allow" to work through a series of blank pages before reaching the bank page itself.
This has not occurred with any other URL so far. Thanks for the feedback. As the link was a answer provided by a support person, it was specific to the platform of the user (asking the question). I should have picked up on that.
Rest assured that the support articles on the Firefox Help website provide the answers specific to the platform and version of Firefox it detects the user is running.
Thanks again. -

Have older Dell Dimension 32/bit with Win XP Prof 2002. I have installed CA security suite from my ISP, which is a huge program and uses 100% of CPU on start-up & shut down, slowing everthing to a snails pace. I have removed evrything I don't need using 30 day free Revo Unistaller Pro, but when I try to access CA's Firewall to add programs to the exception rule, it will open, then freezes along with Firefox tabs and anything else. Can't even shut down from start menu. I want to get rid of CA(although it is a good program, it's too big), and go back to using my Win Firewall(or another better free firewall that's good for more than 30 days trial) and some other free internet security program that is easy, runs in the background and doesn't take all my resources and isn't just a 30 day free trial till you buy the program. I am also trying to install a wireless adapter so I can drop my ISP and use the free city/county signal as no work for 20 months!

== Trying to access CA security Suite FirewallI am the original poster, and I got rid of CA Security Suite & and loaded the Avast! which has some great features even on the freeware. No more crashes or freezing & yes I think there is a problem with CA & Firefox, but am not sure what it is. CA was a big time hog. I also got rid of my ISP and installed a Intellinet Wireless G PCI Card & now am completely wireless on my PC. Faster by far than what I was paying $50/month for & I use my Windows Firewall.

When I try to access my online bank account thru Firefox, the session times out. This is on a new Macbook Pro. On my old Macbook Pro I can access the site. I know it is probably something in settings but cannot figure it out.
Hello,
'''Try Firefox Safe Mode''' to see if the problem goes away. [[Troubleshoot Firefox issues using Safe Mode|Firefox Safe Mode]] is a troubleshooting mode that temporarily turns off hardware acceleration, resets some settings, and disables add-ons (extensions and themes).
'''If Firefox is open,''' you can restart in Firefox Safe Mode from the Help menu:
* Click the menu button [[Image:New Fx Menu]], click Help [[Image:Help-29]] and select ''Restart with Add-ons Disabled''.
'''If Firefox is not running,''' you can start Firefox in Safe Mode as follows:
* On Windows: Hold the '''Shift''' key when you open the Firefox desktop or Start menu shortcut.
* On Mac: Hold the '''option''' key while starting Firefox.
* On Linux: Quit Firefox, go to your Terminal and run ''firefox -safe-mode'' <br>(you may need to specify the Firefox installation path e.g. /usr/lib/firefox)
When the Firefox Safe Mode window appears, select "Start in Safe Mode".
'''''If the issue is not present in Firefox Safe Mode''''', your problem is probably caused by an extension, theme, or hardware acceleration. Please follow the steps in the [[Troubleshoot extensions, themes and hardware acceleration issues to solve common Firefox problems]] article to find the cause.
''To exit Firefox Safe Mode, just close Firefox and wait a few seconds before opening Firefox for normal use again.''
When you figure out what's causing your issues, please let us know. It might help others with the same problem. -
