You can use the same ID but you will need a U.S. based credit or debit card account.

Try here first > Mac App Store: "An unknown error occurred (100)" when purchasing
If that doesn't help, try the following:
Disable anti virus software.
Turn off the Firewall in System Preferences > Security (or Security & Privacy) > Firewall
If that doesn't help, open the Finder. From the Finder menu bar click Go > Go to Folder
Type this exactly as you see it here:
~/Library/Caches/com.apple.appstore/Cache.db
Click Go
Move the Cache.db file to the Trash.
Now here:
~/Library/Preferences
Click Go
Move these files from the Preferences folder to the Trash.
com.apple.appstore.plist
com.apple.storeagent.pllist
Now here:
~/Library/Cookies
Click Go
Move the com.apple.appstore.plist file from the Cookies folder to the Trash.
Empty the Trash, try the App Store. -

I have a NEW appleID and it is signed in to Itunes Store/ App store. But ONLY when I try to buy apps, the OLD account email is coming up to say sign in and buy rather than my new one.
HELP!Are you sure that there are no updates to be downloaded? Content is forever tied to the Apple ID that bought it. Apple does not transfer content from one Apple ID to another. Apple does not merge Apple IDs. You will never be able to access your content bought with another Apple ID with a new Apple ID.

My second iPod is a 5th generation and when I try to buy something it says it needs make sure I am who I say I am and it makes me answer security questions. But the problem is I don't know the answers to them. I did not choose them. And if I can't find an answer I can't buy anything!!! Help!!!!

It will bring up the store but I keep getting interupted by the pop up. I can find music and then when I try to buy it, everything is ok and then it says my session has timed out? I have had itunes on this computer for a couple of years.
had a lot of trouble with this too. I had tried everything, from the internet time zone changing, restarting computers, physical time zone changing, firewalls, all that, and nothing worked.
but i just tried this and it worked.
1. in iTunes, go to Store, then go to authorize computer
2. sign in with your AppleID, and authorize your computer to purchase iTunes stuff.
that's it.
I scoured the internet and found nothing that said that had that as a solution.

A few months ago I syncd my MacBook pro with a friends iPad to share some films and now when she goes to buy apps or use her email the iPad comes up with my username and asks for my ID, how to I set it back to my friends account n get rid of mine off her device

That's not necessarily correct. At least in my case slides and videos for Stanford CS193P are downloading from deimos3.apple.com.
Annoyingly if I try to download "12. Persistence (November 3, 2011) - SD" from iTunes U on my iPad I get the error message:
Unable to Download Podcast
"12. Persistence (November 3, 2011) - SD" could not be downloaded at this time.
[Done] [Retry]
But if I then try from iTunes on my MacBook Pro sitting right beside it on the same network it actually starts downloading. Generally I've found downloads to be more reliable from my MacBook than on my iPad, but they're still amazingly slow (10 kilobytes per second seems the norm, regardless of whose network I'm on at the time). -
