Are you using the virtual keyboard to input your password and you cannot see/find the characters you need on that keyboard?
Or are you trying to use a bluetooth keyboard and pressing the printed key does not produce the right character?

I recently upgraded from OS 10.5 on a PowerMac G5 to an early Intel Mac Pro running 10.7.5. To my consternation, I now find that my scroll wheel operates backwards from what I'm used to. Did Apple make a change that caused that? Is there any way around this?
Apple didn't make this easy, did they! When Lion first came out, I think that check box was under the Trackpad heading of the System Preferences, whether you actually had a trackpad or not. I take it there's nothing there, either?
I plugged a plain ol' three button Logitech mouse into the iMac, and while the Mouse panel options did change some, the same check box for Move content in the direction of finger movement when scrolling or navigating was there. -
I have a Netgear NAS which uses Stora software. Mavericks will not let me install the software as it is not from an approved developer. Is there any way around this?
There is, but why do you need the s/w installed? The NAS should have a web admin interface, accessible via ip address (http://<ip address>) which should allow all the needed configuration that is required for it to work with machines running os x.
Try to install as little s/w as you need to do something in Mavericks or any OS as it is usually the cause of future issues or problems.
If you're intent on installing the s/w, go to System Preferences > Security & Privacy > General and If you have tried to run it before, it should be listed there. You can then "un-block" it should you wish. -

The keys on the sides of the space bar will shift the keys to a different set of characters. Pressing the ".?123" key takes you to another layout. On that layout the "#+=" key will shift to another set of characters. Between those 3 layouts you should have access to all of the symbols printed on a regular keyboard. You might want to check your keyboard and international settings in the Settings app if you think that may be an issue. If you are using key combinations to get symbols that are not printed on the physical keyboard, let us know so we can see if there is a way to generate the character/code on the iPad keyboard.

i just baught my first iphone and it is a jalbroken and factory unlocked version of an iphone 4 running ios 6.0.1. I dont like the fact that this phone might potentially be illegal with the "jailbreak" so ive been trying to restore it back to the factory unlocked settings, but every time i do i get error codes. when it the phone is running normally i get an error code 21 and when i try to run it in recovery or DFU mode i get either a 1601, 1602 or 1604 error code. please help!

Ipad needs resetting but because it's second hand the password from the previous owner is still on it and I do not know it, is there anyway around this so I can take all the data off? It's urgent because it is being used as a gift next week!
The previous owner should have reset it back to factory defaults before selling it. What iOS version is the iPad on (Settings > General > About > Version), and has the previous owner left him/herself logged in in Settings > iCloud with Find My iPad enabled on that screen ? If it's on iOS 7 and Find My iPad is enabled then you should contact the previous owner and ask them to remove the iPad from their account, otherwise you or the recipient of the gift will have problems with activation lock : http://support.apple.com/kb/TS4515
To reset the iPad back to factory defaults (if it's not linked to Find My iPad) you can use recovery mode : http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1808 -
I bought my macbook pro from England a week ago.. especially for its facetime feature so that i can keep in touch with friends from england. I just got to dubai now and have been trying to connect through facetime with my friends and I have tried over and over again for the whole day now, but I've failed. I am assuming the plugin that the Firefox message is referring to is for attaching a file to the email. I say this because at the bottom of a new email it has a link that says "Attach files more easily" which, when you click it, takes you to a setup process where you download an att updater. I ran that and it did seem to change anything. I am wondering if there is anything I can do to make Firefox handle this page without having to restart in 32-bit mode every time.
That means that you need to run Firefox in 32 bit mode if you want to use that plugin.

Ipod making funny noises and Sad icon
Instead of the normal hum of my ipod it hums for a second then makes a loud click and then hums for another few seconds then clicks again and so on. It also freezes up on songs and wont play songs. Then when i try to reset it i gets hung in a loop of
