When I try to convert a file I get no response.

What am I doing wrong?  I have reset my password and tried several time to get a pdf converted to a doc.  I put in my email address and password then click on sign in and I get no response at all.

Hi M & B P,
Please give the following a try:
If you're converting via the ExportPDF website, log out, clear the cache, and then log back in.
If you're converting from within Reader, choose Help > Check for Updates to make sure that you have the most current version.
Please let us know how it goes. If you're still having problems, please let us know how you're converting, what browser you're using, and whether you're on Mac OS and Windows. We'll do some deeper digging if need be.
Best,
Sara

    Hi Irenedix,
If you are using Acrobat you can try the suggestions mentioned above.
Are you using the Create PDF service from within Reader to create pdf?
If yes then please check if you are able to login to: https://cloud.acrobat.com/convertpdf  with your Adobe ID and able to convert the document to pdf.
If yes then within Reader you can try the following:
    Choose Edit > Preferences (Win)
Click 'Online Services' or 'Adobe Online Services' on the left-hand side
Sign out of your Adobe ID and sign back in.

About 3 years old...pretty dated now I guess.  Am thinking I may just need to have it upgraded by a Mac tech.
For what the Apple Store's charge you can buy almost buy a new computer.
Just for giggles I brought my old laptop in for a drive upgrade and asked, they wanted $600 for a drive that only cost $120 at the time and it was a slow 5,400 RPM drive. The new Mac's of a similar make were going for $1000.
I did the drive replacement myself, got a faster drive of better quality for $300 instead.
Then another time I asked for a RAM upgrade from 4GB to 8GB, they wanted to charge $400 + $35 for the labor.
The same RAM is on Crucial.com for $90 and all I need is a 00 micro phillips screwdriver.
So you see what's going on here.
I think what you should do, if your out of warranty/AppleCare, is to call up the local PC tech guy who also does Mac's and have them fix you right up.
They can offer more personalized care which you need. Clone your old drive to the new and everything.
With Apple they are overworked at the Genius Bar and just place roadblocks so you buy a new machine instead.
For instance, all new iMac's now have proprietary drive software installed on the hard drives for heat monitoring. So now the only choice a user has is to bring their iMac into a Apple Store for a very expensive drive upgrade, which a person then decides the money is better spent buying a new machine.

  • Receive error message "An error occurred while trying to access the service" when I try to convert a file?

When I attempt to convert a file, either to PDF or from PDF I receive the error message "An error occurred while trying to access the service" what can I do to resolve?  I already applied updates and attempted to fix?

You could always sign into Acrobat.com directly and use the service through the web site if it's a critical need.

  • When i try to download any file I get streaming tabs

When I try downloading ANY file, I get open tabs streaming. It is probably something simple. Now to update Firefox or to download ANY file I have to go to AOL and download.

Well if the Mozilla answer made sense it might help. I can't make heads or tails out of that mess.
I probably didn't set something in the getting started fuction.
Firefox is so much faster than any other browser I have tried. I really hate that I have to open Slooooow AOL just to down load a file. Every other browser I tried downloaded without problems.
Have someone that speaks English as their primary language re-write the trouble shooting page/s would help..

  • When i try to download a file i get the message not enough free disk space

what could be wrong when i get this message" not enough free disk space"? could it be the hard drive? p.s. my computer won't boot up except in recovery mode

Yes. The disk drive has too much data on it. You are either going to have to move some to other disk drives or delete some.

    Hi LisaCrosslin,
Can you please tell me the exact error message that you're receiving when you try to convert a file? And, does the error occur with just one file or several? Please provide as many details as you can, and we will try to get this solved for you.
I look forward to hearing back from you.

  • I get no network path found when i try to open a file

when i try to open a file i get a message no network path foun and cannot open them.

This seems to be a particularly unhelpful message; no path that would indicate what is wrong!
All I can suggest is that you try to uninstall, then reinstall Reader.

  • Every time I try and convert a document, I get an 'unexpected problem' error message

The files I am trying to convert are 60MB (less than the 100MB limit referred to in the troubleshooting), and have no security locks on them.  When I try and convert a file with the online tool, it uploads quickly, then spends a few minutes trying to convert, before a message pops up, saying that 'an unexpected error occurred'.  No further information is given to help me fix the problem.
I am using Chrome, and in line with some of the help I have already seen on the forums, I have logged out then back onto the online tool a couple of times already.

    Hi Chris,
Sorry to hear you're having trouble!  Could you try disabling OCR and converting your file again? You can find instructions on how to do this here: http://forums.adobe.com/docs/DOC-3062
Let us know if it helps!

  • Error message when I try to convert pdf to excel, after three attempts I could only convert one file.

Error message when I try to convert pdf to excel, after three attempts I could only convert one file.

    Hi pdf to excel,
What is the error that you're receiving when you try to convert? Is it the "Conversion Failure" message? Can you tell me more about the files you're unable to convert? What application created the PDFs? Are there many pages in these these files, or a complex mix of text and graphics?
It'll also be helpful to know whether you're converting via the ExportPDF website (and what browser you're using), or through Adobe Reader.
I look forward to hearing back from you, so we can get to the bottom of this!
    Best,

I have adobe acrobat pro for windows and it is freezing up when I try to convert a word file to pdf... I have tried to get this done six ways from Sunday but it is just not working... help!  Chris.

It would be helpful to know what version of Acrobat, WORD, and operating system.
Without that info, I would suggest at this point to open your WORD file and then go to the print menu and print to file using the Adobe PDF printer. Open the created file in Distiller and see if you get a PDF. If so, check to see if AcroTray is running in the background.
You say you tried many ways. It would help to know what you tried and what worked or did not work, and at what point the failure occurs.
