Let's troubleshoot your iTunes Store connection:
First, try signing out of your account in Settings > iTunes & App Store. Once signed out, go ahead and sign back in.

If you haven't been able to connect to the iTunes Store:
- Make sure your date, time, and time zone are correct in Settings > General > Date & Time.
Note: Time Zone may list another city in your time zone.
- Make sure that your iOS software is up to date by tapping Settings > General > Software Update (iOS 5 or later) or connecting your iOS device to iTunes and clicking Check for Update on your device's Summary page.
- Check and verify that you're in range of a Wi-Fi router or base station. If you're on a device with cellular service, make sure that cellular data is turned on from Settings > General > Cellular.
Note: If connected to cellular data, larger items may not download. You may need to connect to Wi-Fi to download apps, videos, and podcasts.
- Make sure that you have an active Internet connection. You can check the user guidefor your device for help with connecting to the Internet.
- Make sure that other devices (portable computers, for example) are able to connect to the Wi-Fi network and access the Internet.
- Try resetting (turning off and then on again) your Wi-Fi router.
- If the issue persists, try troubleshooting your Wi-Fi networks and connections.

is there a free app download to burn cd/dvd for os10.7?Depending on what type of CD/DVD you intend to burn, you may not need any 3rd party applications:
- To burn data CDs or DVDs simply insert a blank disc, drag files to the empty FInder window that represents the disc, then click the burn button (I think t appears near the top of the finder window).
- To burn music CDs just use iTunes
- To create disk images from a CD or DVD use Disk Utility. To burn .iso or .cdr images to disc use Disk Utility.
About the only type of disc burning that you may need a 3rd party application for is to create a DVD movie (iDVD used to do this but no longer a supported app). I haven't ever needed anything outside of the built-in capabilities of OS X when it comes to burnig CD or DVD media. One suggestion is to make sure to remove all of the Roxio software so that it doesn't interfere with the built-in OS X capabilities.

If you can't access the App Store from the Apple menu, Dock, or Applications folder installing the Mac OS X 10.6.8 Update Combo will reinstall the App Store for you.
It's ok to do this even you are already running v10.6.8.

If the old ID is yours, and if your current ID was created by editing the details of this old ID (rather than being an entirely new ID), go to https://appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your current iCloud ID. Click edit next to the primary email account, change it back to your old email address and save the change. Then edit the name of the account to change it back to your old email address. You can now use your current password to turn off Find My iDevice, even though it prompts you for the password for your old account ID. Then save any photo stream photos that you wish to keep to your camera roll. When finished go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account and choose Delete from My iDevice when prompted (your iCloud data will still be in iCloud). Next, go back to https://appleid.apple.com and change your primary email address and iCloud ID name back to the way it was. Now you can go to Settings>iCloud and sign in with your current iCloud ID and password.

An old Mac ID pops up when I try to update apps. How can I get to my current one?
When the window pops up asking for my Apple Password, it has a very old Apple ID that is no longer used. I cannot access my current Apple ID. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

There is a fix coming out soon for this. In the mean time go to settings and put the date forward one year. then try. once you have access then put the date back.

Have you tried a reset ? Press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider if it appears), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot. You can then do a backup

When I tried updating my apps it says invalid security code for my credit card.
Basically when I try updating an app it says to login. Ok say once I log in it makes me update billing info. When I put my cc info in (which has a 0$ balance) it says invalid security code. This is complete ********, I can't even download FREE apps OR update the ones I have. Im considering going back to android. This is ridiculous.

Per other suggestions on this forum I tried hooking up to the laptop (already had latest iTunes loaded before my iPad2 came), iTunes started up, went to Apple iStore, login, confirm payment, try to download 'iBooks' it says I already have it. Look at the iPad and it's there.
This fix took all of 3-minutes and all is good. Now to learn to move things around. Newbie here Thanks to the forum for tips on things to try. I need to go back through documentation to see why I had such a problem. Not exactly plug-n-play, but then again, I fighting the urge to 'right-click'. Love the iPad2 so far. I had the geek squad from bestbuy supposedly install iphoto 11 on my mac but it is not there and when i try to download it it say the app has been download by another user on this machine. What do i need to do get get this app on my system? If they could not do it right the first time I do not have much faith in their advice.
Assuming you've done a system wide search for it including the Applications folder and it's not there......
I think you will need to address this with them - did you pay them for the application? Or was your purchase price to include it? And the question(s) to ask them:
If the app store states that it has been downloaded, ask them where it is and which Apple ID they used. (the store keeps track of Apple IDs and machine IDs on everything you download).
I have absolutely no faith in their advice; however, in this case, it's not so much technical advice, but an answer to your questions: you paid for something and it appears not to be there. -

My friend just sold me her ipad she got Jan 2013. The software says its up to date with iOS5.1.1, but when i try to download certain app it tells me I need to update to iOS6.0 or later but when i go to the setting there are no updates. so how do I add these apps? The way you download older apps for the older, original iPad 1, as I understand it, is if you have iTunes installed on a computer, you purchase / download the new, current app, in the iOS App Store in iTunes on your computer. Then, go back to your iPad and go to the App Store app on your iPad and find the same app there and download it.
When You select app to update/download, a message pop-up window appears asking if you want to download the last compatible version for your device (if one still exists ) tap OK and that should be it.
