While downloading a book from iTunes, my internet service was interrupted and i didn't get the entire book. Now when i try to download it, i get the message that i already have downloaded it. It hit the download button in the purchased section, and nada! How can i re-download the book?

    Hi Peggs,
    Try this:
Open your iBooks app on your iPad
Select the Store Button at the top
    Select Purchased at the bottom
You will see your AppleID on the right at the bottom, then Redeem, then Support
Click on your Apple ID, and when the AppleID window comes up with the options, Sign Out
Then Sign In again and try redownloading your book
    Hope this helps!
    Cheers,

  • When I try to download CC I get the error message A12E4.

I had no problem downloading and working with the trial apps but it seems that as soon as I subscibed I ran into trouble. When I subscribed I tried to install Lr but I kept receiving notification to update Creative Cloud, when I tried to do so I received the error A12E4. I figured that maybe if I uninstall CC that I might be able to download the updated version but I kept receiving the same error message.
I have spent several hours in 'chat' with Adobe Support using the cleaner, renaming folders, trying safe mode, all to no avail. The last person I spoke with had me package up a whole bunch of data assuring me someone would be in touch but that was 5 days ago. I am loathe to uninstall AiCC, PsCC, and IdCC as I need them for work and though I keep receiving warnings that they are damaged they seem to be working ok.
    I work on a Mac.

Just in case anyone else encounters this issue, Adobe sent me the info below, and it worked for me...
    1. You can see a magnifier icon on the top right corner. Please click on that and type Activity Monitor.
Please check if there is process running related to Adobe like CEP Service Manager, CEF Helper, Creative Cloud and AAM, CoreSync. If so please click on the names of those process and end all those processes.
    2. Please click on Finder and then navigate to Go - Go To Folder and type ~/Library.
After that navigate to Application Support/ Adobe and check for a folder called OOBE.
You will be able to see a file called opm.db. Please delete that file from the OOBE folder.
    3. Then you can enable the Root User account in your Mac computer. Below steps are the steps to enable the root user on MAC.
From the Apple menu choose System Preferences....
From the View menu choose Users & Groups.
Click the lock and authenticate as an administrator account.
    Click Login Options....
Click the "Edit..." or "Join..." button at the bottom right.
Click the "Open Directory Utility..." button.
Click the lock in the Directory Utility window.
Enter an administrator account name and password, then click OK.
Choose Enable Root User from the Edit menu.
Enter the root password you wish to use in both the Password and Verify fields, then click OK.
You can also refer the below document on how to enable the 'Root user' on MAC.
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1528
Then login to Root User account and try the installation of the Creative Cloud Application.

You can only use apps downloaded from the App store, not via a browser. There is no Flash for any iOS device including the iPod.

  • HT201364 When I try to download this I get a message that says I haven't got sufficient space on my startup disk. I have checked my available space on the disc and I have only 3GB free out of 500. I have hardly anything on my mac - how can this be?

Freeing Up Space on The Hard Drive
      1. See Lion/Mountain Lion's Storage Display.
      2. You can remove data from your Home folder except for the /Home/Library/ folder.
      3. Visit The XLab FAQs and read the FAQ on freeing up space on your hard drive.
      4. Also see Freeing space on your Mac OS X startup disk.
      5. See Where did my Disk Space go?.
      6. See The Storage Display.
You must Empty the Trash in order to recover the space they occupied on the hard drive.
You should consider replacing the drive with a larger one. Check out OWC for drives, tutorials, and toolkits.
Try using OmniDiskSweeper 1.8 or GrandPerspective to search your drive for large files and where they are located.

Try updating your QuickTime to the most recent version. Does that clear up the DEP errors in iTunes?

  • I recently transfered everything from my emac to another one but now when I try to open iTunes I get the window that states: The file "iTunes Library" cannot be read because it was created by a newer version of iTunes.

I recently transfered everything from my emac to another one but now when I try to open iTunes I get the window that states: The file "iTunes Library" cannot be read because it was created by a newer version of iTunes. The computer I transfered to had a bunch of files on it and I got full ownership of what was already there, so, how do I get to my iTunes library, I do have access as an administrator to the iTunes library (that works just fine) already there and I guess I must have had a newer version ofiTunes on my defunt eMac....

Tell us some version numbers please, of your Mac OS versions and iTunes versions on both computers (two eMacs yes?).

That is a pretty good guess.Try updating the second eMac's iTunes to at least the version that was on the first.

When I try to open iTunes, I get this error message: "Windows cannot access the specified device, path, or file. You may not have the appropriate permissions to access the item." I've been able to uninstall all Apple products except iTunes as I get this error message: "The Installer has insufficent privileges to modify this file: C:\Program Files\i Tunes\Acknowledgments.rtf." I've had the iTunes on my laptop for a year and a half with no problems until now.

    Any suggestions please?

There is a framework missing in your System library. You need to reinstall MacOS X to restore the dynamic library:

How are you launching iPhoto? From your Dock? The Dock icon may still be linked to an older iPhoto version. Just to be sure, you are opening really iPhoto 9.6, launch iPhoto by double-clicking the iPhoto icon in your applications folder. Your crash log  with the the "Library not found" error message should show the version number of iPhoto. Which version is it showing?

my app store will not open. when i try to open it i get an error that reads "You can't open the application App Store because it may be damaged or incomplete". How can I fix this?

I am having the exact same problem.  MacForums has been helping me, and I called Apple.  After trying everyone's suggestions, and Apple's, no success.
My App Store app still says "incomplete or damaged."  There is even a circle with a line through it on the icon.  Apple said reinstall my Snow Leopard upgrade disc (not my original Leopard disc) and then run the Combo Update (like your suggestion).  Did not work.  I also updated the software from "Software Update".  Rebooted.
I think this started after I replaced my hard drive with a SSD and moved the hard drive to where the DVD was.  I wonder if the person above who had the same problem also installed a SSD?
Anyway, anymore ideas?  Even Apple is stumped.
(In answer to the other post above, my Quicktime works fine.)

Just did some more reading.  I was going by the icon in the dock.  When I checked in Finder, there it was, fixed and brand new!!  Thanks, anyway.

  • When I try to download firefox I get this error "cannot open output file". I had firefox once but uninstalled it now I cant' reinstall. Why?

I had firefox but uninstalled it because of problems with add on Recipefox. Now when I try to reinstall it I get and error message "cannot open output file". I really liked firefox, How do I get it back?

When you click the download link on [http://getfirefox.com GetFirefox.com], you should be asked if you wish to Run or Save the file. If the described situation happens when trying to Run the download, try instead to Save it and put the file on your Desktop or a similar place where you are certain that you can find it again.
When the download is complete, try double-clicking the downloaded file in the normal Windows Explorer (browse your way to the file from My Computer). This should start the installation.
If you notice in the Explorer window that the file seems to be lacking the Firefox orange/blue icon, rightclick the file and select Properties. The picture should look somewhat like the attached picture (except that mine's in danish, but that is irrelevant) if saved correctly - if it does NOT look like this, please describe the contents or attach a screenshot of the box. Especially what it says under "File type" - it should be "Program"; if it's not, we'll have to look into what the problem could be here.
Slightly off-topic, your Internet Explorer seems to be quite a bit out of date (IE 6, where current version is IE 8), so I would strongly recommend that you try to run Windows Update to get your system updated. If this is a company system (like a Terminal Server thin client machine), this may not be possible, and your system administrator will most likely have to help you.

  • When I try to open a Pages file, I get a "need to upgrade" from 4.3.  When I try to download it, I get the message "installed" and that's the roadblock.  What to do, what to do?

I recently upgraded to Mavericks.  Now, when I try to open a Pages file, I get a message that I must upgrade Pages from 4.3.  When I click to download, I get a message "installed."  I'm going around and around: Need to install; it's already installed. TIA.

You have 2 versions of Pages on your Mac.
Pages 5 is in your Applications folder.
Pages '09/'08 is in your Applications/iWork folder.
You are alternately opening the wrong versions.
Pages '09/'08 can not open Pages 5 files and you will get the warning that you need a newer version.
Older versions of Pages 5 can not open Pages 5.2 files and you will get the warning that you need a newer version.
Pages 5 can open Pages '09 files but may damage/alter them. It can not open Pages '08 files at all.
Once opened and saved in Pages 5 the Pages '09 files can not be opened in Pages '09.
Once opened and saved in Pages 5.2 files can not be opened in Pages 5.
Anything that is saved to iCloud and opened by newer Pages versions anywhere, is also converted to Pages 5 files.
All Pages files no matter what version and incompatibility have the same extension .pages.
Pages 5 files are now only compatible with themselves on a very restricted set of hardware, software and Operating Systems and will not transfer correctly on any other server software than iCloud.
Apple has removed over 95 features from Pages 5 and added many bugs:

Archive/trash Pages 5, after exporting all Pages 5 files to Pages '09 or Word .docx, and rate/review it in the App Store, then get back to work.
