When I try to send a photo from iPhoto by email, and error message reads "The email server didn't recognize your username/password combination". How do I fix this?
Try to reenter you rmail account details in the iPhoto Preferences > Accounts tab.
Delete the mail account entry by pressing the "-" button below the left column in the panel, then add it again by pressing "+".
Also, it is recommended, to set "Mail" as mail client in the iPhoto preferences, and not iPhoto. This has been working much more reliably lately. -
Email server didn't recognize your username/password combination
I can send and receive email without a problem, but when I try to send iPhoto pics to other mail addresses, I get the error message
"email server didn't recognize your username/password combo. Can't figure how to fix this.
ThanksGreetings MarcinOC,
iPhoto uses information for sending pictures by email that is stored in a different place than your Mac Mail application. You should check that information to make sure it is set correctly.
Go to the iPhoto menu > Preference > Accounts. In particular you may want to make certain that the username and password are correct. See this article for reference -

When trying to email pictures from IPhoto for the first time, I chose to use my Yahoo server, but I mistakenly entered the wrong password. Since then, everytime I try to email pictures I get a message saying "The server didn't recognize your username/password combination". How can I correct this so I can email pictures using my IPhoto?
iPhoto Menu -> Prefences -> Accounts. Delete and recreate your email account.

why it says The email server didn’t recognize your username/password combination. when I sending pictures from iPhoto to my e-mail.
Have you tried to delete the account from your Preferences and to Re-Enter it? That usually will help.
If not, try to use "Mail.app" as mail client in iPhoto and not iPhoto. Change the the stting in the Preferences > General tab to "Email photos using Mail". This is usually more robust thanthe setting "iPHoto". -
When I try to email photos from iPhoto I get this message: The email server didn’t recognize your username/password combination. It won't let me change it, what do I do?
Can you send email ok via the Apple Mail application?
The username and password are set in the Accounts section of the Mail application. Start Mail, select preferences and select Accounts. Then make absolutely sure that the username, password and outgoing mail server are entered correctly. -
"The email server didn’t recognize your username/password combination." This message pops up when trying to send photos from iPhoto via Mail. I have tried reseting passowrds in both gmail and me.com
Thanks for helping Christeneau. You helped me too...eventually. I say eventually because I was puzzled by your 'What does it say behind "email photo's using"'?
I realised the problem was your incorrect use of the apostrophe 's', as in 'photo's using'.
I just could not make any sense of this sentence at all, until I realised that you meant to write, "What does it say behind "email photos using". What you employed was the possesive use of the apostrophe - a mistake that seems to have become endemic in english speaking nations during the last 10 years or so, brought on by the lack of understanding basic english grammar. This has come about because of sloppy teaching methods the world over - it's not really your fault.
It's quite simple: The apostrophe 's' should be used as the following examples show:
James's apple, the car's horn, the world's atmosphere. The one exception is 'its shape,' where there is no apostrophe showing posession because that construction has been used as an abbreviation to 'it is', as in 'it's'.
Plurals (more then one) NEVER have an apostrophe! E.g. CDs, eggs, biscuits, vehicles, UNLESS to show possesion - a CD's label, the biscuit's taste, a vehicle's colour.
Thanks again for you help. -

Hi ...
If you are trying to "Share" photos via email, quit iPhoto then launch the Mail app.
From the Mail menu bar click Mail > Preferences then select the General tab.
Select your Mail client from the pop up menu next to: Default email reader
Now select the Accounts tab then the Account Information tab.
Select the account on the left that you want to use with iPhoto.
Type in your User name and password
Relaunch iPhoto. Click Share from the menu bar > Email -

I'm trying to email a photo from one of my iPhoto albums, however I'm getting an error message that says "The email server didn’t recognize your username/password combination." Any ideas? I can't find any help in Apple on-line support.
Never mind. I was able to find the solution via an earlier post from West. Thank you!

Sending pics from iphoto I get the message "The email server didn't recognize your username/password combination".
You need to set it up once in iPhoto-> Prefs -> Accounts b/c not everyone who uses iPhoto has or uses Mail.

I'm have a problem using the Share command when using my iPhoto software. After selecting a photo and entering the email addresses I press Send and receive the message. "The email server didn’t recognize your username/password combination". I've gone into my iPhone Account Settings and deleted the original account and then re-entered the information into a new account with negative results. I have been using the Share feature for more than a year and have had no problems up until two days ago.
I use MS Outlook and have no problem sending/receiving/forwarding regular emails. Thank you for any help you can afford me.I've gone into my iPhone Account Settings and deleted the original account and then re-entered the information into a new account with negative results.
You mean, you entered the Account setting again in iPhoto's Preferences?
Then try, if deleting your account password in your Keychain will help.
Quit your mail program. Launch Keychain Access from the "Applications > Utilities" folder and select "Password" in the "Categories" brick. Delete the password for your email account. (right click the email address to bring up the contextual menu and select "delete"). -
