Are you able to try taking it back to the store that you bought it from and ask them to activate it properly ? I have tried everything I could to fix this, but some things require actually being on Firefox, and since I cannot get on, I cannot click on the tabs to do it. I have even totally uninstalled firefox, and that has not fixed this. I still get the same message that firefox is running and I need to close it or restart (which I have also tried dozens of times). I have removed things like Java, and that has not helped either. If I cannot even get on line in firefox, how can I fix this. I am not crazy about using internet explorer, but right now, it is my only option. I even tried to start in safe mode, and the same message box pops up!

What size ??GB is the download file? How much free storage space do you have?
The ??GB is the download file compressed size (like .zip or .dmg). When the file is installed/uncompressed it can be 2-3 times larger.
How much space is your Other using? You may be able to reduce.

If you purchased the computer before 2010, your computer hasn't got Thunderbolt, so you can't use it

You would have to purchase a retail Leopard installer DVD. Since they are difficult to find you may need to search on eBay, Amazon.com, and Google to find a suitable copy.
If you have an Intel iMac, then you may want to consider upgrading to Snow Leopard which you can purchase at any Apple retailer for $29.00 versus the minimum price of $129.00 for Leopard.

Each time you connect your iPhone to iTunes, you need to eject it before closing iTunes by clicking on the little "eject" icon shown in iTunes. It seems that sometime in the past, you did not do that.
I'm not sure how to undo the previously done damage, but maybe a reboot of your Mac would help.

If you did not do a reset of your iPod please try that (you will not lose any data)
Reset iPod touch: Press and hold the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
If this does not work inspect the opening in your iPod where the cable connects. Look for any debris and clean it (a magnifying glass may be required).

Did this start when you installed Firefox 4?? Many web applications use browser version numbers for compatibility checks. Even if they actually would run just fine in a newer version. I suggest checking with your internal IT on whether this is a known issue for that application.
If the site previously worked with Firefox 4, maybe they changed something, or maybe you installed a new add-on that is causing a conflict?
