I have tried resetting my password and still get this error message. I can login to iTunes but cannot purchase new apps or install purchased apps. Would be grateful if anyone could help.

I just acitvated my iPhone 4 and tried to download an app. I get the message Your Apple ID has been disabled.
If your account works on your computer's iTunes but not your phone then try logging out of your account on the iPhone by tapping on your id in Settings > Store and then log back in and see if it then works.
Otherwise, depending on why it's been disabled, you might be able to re-enable it via this page : http://appleid.apple.com
Or you might need to contact Apple : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/ - click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page -
