When I try to look at my mail, it says the user name or password is incorrect. How can I fix this?
Reset network settings. ( Settings > General > Reset > Reset network settings )
Retest
Remove account
Re-add.

I am using Firefox 4.0 Beta 7 on both my Android as well as my laptop. I am trying to set up the sync feature and keep getting the error message on my Android saying that the username or password are invalid. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling, I have tried changing my password. I continue to get this error message.
Can you try again with Firefox 4.0b8 (desktop) and 4.0b3 (Android)? We have changed the way that Sync setup works, and it no longer requires entering the password and sync key by hand.

sallyDelete your e-mail account from the iPhone and configure it again. What e-mail provider are you using? Hope this help

Never had trouble before with my incoming mail but just now getting messege that says the user name or password for verizon is incorrect yet my home computer is fine only have this od my iPad
I experienced same problem tonight and called Verizon technical support and they walked me through the settings on iPad. Took about 5 minutes. Basically it involved changing incoming.verizon.net to pop.verizon.net and changing outgoing.verizon.net to smtp.verizon.net. But it's worth the call to ensure other settings are OK. Evidently, change at Verizon was effective today!

I get an intermittent " Cannot Get Mail. The user name or Password is incorrect" I haven,t touch any settings. Any ideas?
That usually means that the mail server is busy and rejects the Mail App's request for a mail update.

ODBC driver say like that.. --;;;
If I have 4 more trials with same user name and password,
then it is usually connected in ODBC test or Access..
When I use SQLPLUS, there is no problem.
I tried other user name.. but it had same problem..
In my computer, only this server has a problem..
(I'm using other UNIX server in good condition)

To resolve this i went to generals: App store and clicked on my apple id. when a pop up shows click on view Applie id account. There select the payment process and select NONE in the type of card instead of your visa or mastercard. save it and then you can try getting into facetime., It should be good. It worked for me. I dropped my phone yesterday and now can't receive mail. I removed and then replaced the sim card. I've restarted the phone. It says the user name or password is incorrect. I re-entered the correct information (I think) and I've also synced it with my computer. Nothing works. Help!
Delete the email account and re-enter it from scratch.

I have tried to add a hotmail account to Thunderbird because my Internet provider will stop e-mail support in the near future. I was able to add a hotmail account to Thunderbird, but I get the following error message when I try to receive e-mail in this hotmail account: "Configuration could not be verified – is the user name or password wrong?" (The hotmail website receives the e-mail.) User name and password is certainly correct. I have a 8.1 OS. Thank you.
got an anti virus that thinks it should scan email. Turn that function off.
Have a firewall, check that Thunderbird has full internet access, not some Auto rubbish that somehow fails. -
ICloud/iPad 2 error: "user name or password is incorrect" when I try to sign into iCloud.
When trying to sign in to iCloud on iPad2/iOS5 I receive User name or password is incorrect dialogue box w/ and "ok" bar. The screen freezes at this point and then it just spins "verifying" at the top. The only way to clear it seems to be turning it off. The same login/password worked on iPhone 4 and MacBook Pro. iPad is upto date. Any thoughts?

Well I finally chatted w/ someone at apple and was able to resolve it. First I am going to tell you what they told me, then I am going to tell you what I would do different.
I already had iOS5 loaded
They had me go to Settings>General>Reset>Erase all content and settings
After I did all that it still wouldn't accept the login/password.
That is when we discovered that I hadn't set the iphone right to back up to the cloud so there was nothing there for it to open.
Next they had me back up my iPhone to the cloud. (that took about an hour). Once it was done I went back to the iPad, you have to put some stuff in like country, blah blah blah, you are looking for the back up to iCloud, computer or iTunes. Select iCloud and from there it took about 5 minutes and everything was up and running.
What I would do differently - I would not reset the iPad. I didn't loose anything I can't replace but my pad desktop is a mess and I have to fix all that again. I would do the iPhone back up and then once that was done try to log into the iCloud again using the settings>iCloud. If that didn't work I would do the steps above because it did work.
Back up on iPhone: Settings>iCloud>Storage and Backup>Backup Now.
