When I try to make email window smaller it disappears
When viewing email in full window it works...OK.. kind of. When I make the window smaller to work on other applications the email window completely disappears and won't show again unless I select full window. This has been just since updating to Yosemite.
No does the same thing. Either it minimizes to a box about 1" x3" that is not adjustable or useable or it completely disappears.

Do you know how it is chaning the addresses? Can you compare what is send to what it is your address book?
In the meantime, make a temporary, backup copy of the library and try the following:
1 - delete the iPhoto preference file, com.apple.iPhoto.plist, that resides in your
User/Home()/Library/ Preferences folder.
2 - delete iPhoto's cache file, Cache.db, that is located in your
User/Home()/Library/Caches/com.apple.iPhoto folder.
3 - launch iPhoto and try again.
NOTE: If you're moved your library from its default location in your Home/Pictures folder you will have to point iPhoto to its new location when you next open iPhoto by holding down the Option key when launching iPhoto. You'll also have to reset the iPhoto's various preferences.

Ok, details of installation below, so when I try compose an email, I just get a compose window icon stuck in the windows
taskbar can't actually enlarge it and use it. If I restart in safe mode with all addons disabled, then it works fine. But
If I restart normally and manually disable addons/plugins, then close and start normally again i.e not safe mode, it
breaks, so does not seem to be an addon or plugin but rather something with the configuration.

And without info - it's near to impossibly to help. Try my general troubleshooting note:
Troubleshooting note
When iMovie doesn't work as intended this can be due to a lot of reasons
iMovie Pref files got corrupted - trash it/they and iMovie makes new and error free one's
problem in iMovie Cache folder - trash Cache.mov and Cache.plist
Creating a new User-Account and log into this
This forces iMovie to create all pref. and cache files new and error free
Event or Project got corrupted - try to make a copy and repair
a Codec is used that doesn't work (even though iMovie and/or iDVD tries to / they fail in the end)
version miss match of QuickTime Player / iMovie / iDVD
preferences are wrong - Repair Preferences
other hard disk problem - Repair Hard Disk (Disk Util tool - but start Mac from ext HD or DVD)
External hard disks - MUST BE - Mac OS Extended (hfs) formatted to work with Video
( UNIX/DOS/FAT32/Mac OS Exchange - works for most other things - but not for Video )
USB-flash-memories - usually do not work
Net-work connected hard disks - usually do not work (most often not fast enough and WRONGLY FORMATTES as DOS etc)
iPhoto Library got problems - let iPhoto select another one or repair it. Re-build this first then try to re-start iMovie. When iMovie starts-up it first look trough this iPhoto library and if faulty it all Halt’s.
This You do by
First - close iPhoto
Secondly - on start up of iPhoto - Keep {cmd and alt-keys down}
Thirdly - now select all five options presented
THEN - WAIT a long long time (>20 hours are not strange)
free space on Start-Up (Mac OS) hard disk to low (<1Gb) - I never go under 25Gb free space for SD-Video (4-5 times more for HD)
external devices interferes - turn off Mac - disconnect all of them and - Start up again and re-try
GarageBand fix - start GB - play a few notes - Close it again and now try iMovie
Screen must be set to million-colors
Third-party plug-ins doesn't work OK
Run "Cache Out X", clear out all caches and restarts the Mac
Let Your Mac be turned on during one night. At about midnight there is a set of maintenance programs that runs and tidying up. This might help
Turn off Your Mac - and disconnect Mains - for about 20-30 minutes - at least this resets the FireWire port.
In QuickTime - DivX, 3ivx codec, Flip4Mac, Perian etc - might be problematic - temporarily move them out and re-try
(I deleted the file "3ivxVideoCodec.component" located in Mac HD/Library/Quicktime and this resolved my issue.)

I don't know what I downloaded that caused the problem, but now when I try to make a new folder on the desktop of my new Windows 7 computer, I have only the following choices: Shortcut, Bitmap Image, Contact, Microsoft Word Document, Journal Document, Microsoft Powerpoint Presentation, Text Document, Microsoft Excel Worksheet, and Briefcase. No new folder choice. Anyone have any ideas how I can correct the problem?

Then I tap on the arrow under the Outgoing mail server smtp setting to get to the next window.
In the resulting window, I then tap on the arrow next to the smtp server under the Primary Server setting.
That brings up this window in which I check to make sure that my user name and password have been entered correctly. If those items are missing, enter them in the appropriate fields and then tap done. -

No "account" options when I try to send email
When I try to send email I no longer have the option of what account to send from. The drop down window thingy is blank. All my mail is ok. I can receive mail ok and the accounts (2) show up in my inbox. Not sure but it may have happened when I tried to install gpg mail. If I delete mail preferences will this help?

iMac G5 Mac OS X (10.4.8)Yes, re-creating com.apple.mail.plist may be overkill, but I don’t know of another way to solve the problem, especially if having installed a plug-in could have a bearing on it:
1. If you have a .Mac account and .Mac synchronization of Mail data is enabled either in Mail > Preferences > General or in System Preferences > .Mac, disable it before proceeding.
2. Quit Mail if it’s running.
3. Make a backup copy of the ~/Library/Mail folder, just in case something goes wrong while trying to solve the problem. You can do this in the Finder by dragging the folder to the Desktop while holding the Option (Alt) key down, for example. This is where all your mail is locally stored.
4. In the Finder, go to ~/Library/Preferences/. Locate com.apple.mail.plist and move it to the Desktop (to be deleted if this fixes the problem).
5. Open Mail. You’ll have to set up your non-.Mac accounts from scratch all over again. If given the option to import existing mailboxes or something like that, don’t. Just enter the account information and Mail will automagically rediscover the data in ~/Library/Mail/ when done.
6. You’ll have to re-configure most of your settings in Mail > Preferences. For spam-related security reasons, the first thing you should do is go to Preferences > Viewing and disable Display remote images in HTML messages if it’s enabled.
7. You may also need to re-install or re-enable any Mail plug-ins you have installed for Mail to recognize them.
8. As a side effect of re-creating com.apple.mail.plist, Mail might rename Outbox (which is where messages waiting to be sent are stored) to Delivered. The name of that mailbox is actually a misnomer, as it would contain messages (if any) that couldn’t be delivered for some reason. You can delete that mailbox if you wish.
9. If the problem is fixed now and .Mac synchronization of Mail data was enabled at the beginning, enable it again, go to System Preferences > .Mac > Advanced, click Reset Sync Data, and choose the appropriate options to reset the Mail data stored on the .Mac server with the data locally stored on the computer, i.e. sync data must flow from the computer to the .Mac server.
Note: For those not familiarized with the ~/ notation, it refers to the user’s home folder. You can easily locate any of the folders referred to in this post by copying the folder path here, doing Go > Go to Folder in the Finder, and pasting the folder path there. -
After Effects CS5 crashing when I try to make a new comp
First it was crashing when I imported files, now I fixed that but it's crashing when I try to make a new comp (may affect other things too, that's just what I noticed). It was working fine for 3+ months until now and I haven't had anyway software or hardware changes. I recently installed a video copilot plugin, but it was working for a few days then started crashing.
I'm running on a Core i7 950 3.07ghz, 6GB DDR3 1600 RAM, 500gb SATA harddrive, and a GTX 465 graphics card.
It didn't give any error message, the only info I got was a windows message saying to look in my temporary app data. I looked herebut there was just a few XML files that listed my computer specs and a few AE stuff. I deleted them and it still didn't work.

Which one? There have been problems with Video Copilot plug-ins causing crashes. Make sure that you thave the most recent updates.
Try not using that plug-in, and see if you still get crashes.
Also make sure that your graphics card drivers are up to date. -
Quicktime player chrashing when i try to make new recording
Hi,
I installed Iweb 08 a couple of days ago (the only thing that have changed on my system) and now quicktime player crashes when i try to make a new recording (both video and audio).
Have tried to repair permissions and disk, reinstalled quicktime and trash the prefs but no go....
I noticed when installing Iweb that the ilife installer also installs new system components including quick time ( cant seem to find what is actually added or changed), so is there a way of uninstalling this??
I can live without Iweb for no but not with a dysfunctional quicktime player.....I have this same issue, and have had it ever since I upgraded to QT pro. I haven't installed iLife '08 however, so there must be a common issue somewhere here. There isn't much more than novel use for this feature for me, however, since I use final cut studio for video editing and such - but it would be a nice feature to have for quick captures.
If anyone finds out anything about this please let me know,

then credit card details will need to be entered before the account can be used to download any item from the store.
If created the account (e.g. you're not in the process of creating it and are stuck on the payment screen) and you are being prompted to review it then you could see if this post by mountaingoatgirl lets you reviewit without needing to enter credit card details : https://discussions.apple.com/message/24303054
If not then you will need to create a new account, and follow the instructions on that HT2534 page when creating it. The new questions show on your account on http://appleid.apple.com ? If they do then try logging out and back into your account on your phone (assuming that is where you are trying to purchase from) and see if the new questions then show on it.
