When I try to open Firefox, it won't let me and says my profile was deleted

I've been having problems with the rainbow wait button would spin and spin when I opened any new website or tried to do anything on a website. I looked through the help menus and thought that I was doing the right thing. I changed my profile folder name to places.sqlite.old and updated Firefox. Now when I try to open it, it won't let me and says that my profile was deleted.

You will have to delete the profiles.ini file to force a new profile or restore the old profile name to the name listed in the profiles.ini

You can try to disable IPv6 and check for other solutions like DNS problems

You can also try to reset (power off/on) the router.
Create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problems.

I also try to install Java SE runtime but half way through the Software Update it says cant download software because of network problem but I'm connected to the internet and i can browse stuff just fine. And yes we are allowed to play games and stuff on these laptops but only at home not at school so don't tell me i need to focus on school and not games.

Since you updated the operating system, it is probably Minecraft is missing certain files that ware remove or are not longer comparable with the new version of the OSX. what I recommend, is to check is there is an update for Minecraft and install that. If there is not update available, probably the best thing will be reinstalling Minecraft. Hope this will help you.

Try running a repair on the library. Hold the command and option keys down while starting Aperture, this will open the repair window. Select Repair Library.

The reason I want it on my home computer is because I'm creating web pages and I want to view my html pages using a variety of browsers, including Firefox.

From another computer, go to http://www.mozilla.com/firefox/, click "Free download" button, click "Save File" button, select your flash drive in "Save as" window. "Firefox Setup 3.6.13.exe" file will be saved in your flash drive.
You just need to insert it in your new computer and double-click on "Firefox Setup 3.6.13.exe" from Windows Explorer and follow instructions.

When I try to open firefox, it puts up a message that says it's already running and you must first close it before opening. But there isn't one running so therefore I can't open it.

This happens to me as well. However, I have a shortcut on my desktop as well as my quick start bar. When this has happened to me, I can usually log back in without restarting, by using the shortcut on the desktop rather than the usual quick start bar.
I know this sounds weird, but it has worked for me about 80% of the time.

A program called "tudosearch" interferes with my Firefox - it always comes up when I try to open Firefox or if Firefox tries to call up another program. I can not find a way to get rid of it.
