When I try to open my iphoto, I get a notice saying the computer can't open it and it needs to be rebuilt, what does this mean?

When I tried to open my iphoto program yesterday and a box popped up saying ( iphoto is unable to open this library, the library has issues that require rebuilding to correct) Does this mean I have lost all my photos? And how do I rebuild it? I don't understand, It was working fine the last time I used it. Need help!!

It just needs to rebuild the database. You do have your iPhoto library backed up to an external source just in case?
And how do I rebuild it?
Hold down the Option + Command keys then launch iPhoto.
Select the first option.

Does anyone know if there is a way to hide items such as layouts and themes that are a part of the shared libraries? We are using DVT and don't want these items to show up to end users if they are not included in our project.
