When I try to share a project in Imovie the whole application shuts down

I created a movie project for school, it is 3 minutes long. When I press the watch full screan the screan turns black and the mouse turns to a rainbow circle and then the application itself shuts off and asks me to reopen it. The same thing happens when i try to share the movie into itunes

I can't find idvd when I try to share my project from iMovie

In my macBookPro, with IReal pre-installated (Imovie+Iphoto+garage band) there isn't the app IDvd, where can I download it?

Apple no long supplies iDVD or iWeb with iLife and it is not available on the MAS.
The only way to get it is to use the original Applications DVD that came with your system and see if you can reinstall it from that and then update it through Software update.
But if your original App DVD disc is older, like 2 or 3 year old, it might not install.
Also you have to find the iDVD.PKG file on that DVD and install from that Package file. You can't just run the normal install app on that DVD and then select just iDVD. It will come up with an error that you already have iLife installed and not allow you to install iDVD or iWEB.

When I try to share a project to DVD the programme stops at 66%. How can I overcome this frustrating problem?

Honestly, I have no idea. This has been an on again/off again problem for some people going back to the original version. DVD and Blu Ray haven't been much of a priority for Apple for a very long time.

Set up iMovie Theater and iCloud
In order to take full advantage of the capabilities of iMovie Theater, you must be signed in to iCloud. If you are signed in to iCloud, movies and trailers shared to iMovie Theater are automatically uploaded to iCloud. You can also turn off automatic uploading, and upload just the movies and trailers you want, or delete individual movies and trailers from iCloud. For more information about the Theater, see iMovie Theater overview.
If you sign out of your iCloud account on your Mac, all iCloud movies disappear from the Theater, but they are not deleted; the movies reappear when you sign in again. If you ever run out of space in iCloud, an alert icon appears in the top-right corner of your movie, indicating that you can’t upload new movies. For more information, click the icon. After you upgrade your iCloud storage or clear space, your movies automatically appear in iCloud again.

I fixed the problem.. but it was very, very strange. I had a very long section for credits and set the line spacing to 1.0.. for some reason this caused it. I removed it, and it worked fine. I put it back, and I couldn't preview or play the video.
I don't know why that could cause that big of a problem, but it did..

After phone support from apple I ended up creating a new project and adding all 117 clips back in individually till I found out what clips flagged and would not allow me to export. I had 3 I deleted and replaced and everything works now 1hr after tedious work....

Share as HD to iDVD - never give any gain but if it works the resulting DVD is less quality than if SD-quality was shared

Is it Mac OS formatted?
If it is not, it will not work with FCP.

Cannot open photoshop, illustrator, indesign. when I try to open them, nothing come out, the adobe application manager will automatically pop out.

go to the installation directory (not a shortcut) and confirm they're installed and try to start from the install directory.

FCPX crashing when I try to share a project

When I try to export a project creating a new master file FCPX crashes. I can share to vimeo or youtube, or share a still image, but if I choose to share new master file then the program shuts down, and now it doesn´t even show me the report. I am using FCPX 10.1.3, but had the same problem with previous versions. Anyone has an idea about what can be causing this problem? Thanks!

Okay, after several hours on the phone w/ Apple Care includiing nearly 10 hours on Wednesday, we finally figured out why I would get a Quicktime Error -50 when I tried to share a project out of FCP X. The problem was in the music track that I had in the project. I ripped a track from an audio CD, put in my iTunes then imported into the FCP timeline just as Apple says to do.
The problem is; iTunes default rippping codec is AAC. FCPX can't handle AAC compression. I had to re-rip the audio CD to a uncomressed AIFF file, bring that back into my project and then FCPX could share the file and do it's own copression.
This was a new discovery for Apple and FCPX.

"Final Cut Pro quit unexpectedly" when I try to "share" my project.

I can't export my project. Every time when I try, the FCPX close and show "Final Cut Pro quit unexpectedly".

Try a new test project with a single clip. If that doesn't work, close the application. Hold down the Option and Command keys and delete preferences.
If it still won't export: Turn off background rendering (in Preferences). Duplicate the project. Select the project icon and from the File menu delete al the render files (I believe it was Computer Generated Files in that version). With he Range tool select a short section and without rendering Share>Master File. If it works, then the full project will probably export.
If that doesn't work, create a new project. Copy the timeline of the problem project and paste it into the new project timeline. Make a short selection and export as a master file.
Post back and let us know.

The problem is when I tray to export or to share an Imovie project to Idvd, it close whenit begin to prepare the project .The Imovie9 version 8.0.6 (821). Mac 10.6 8
What could I do to share this project, but without lost it?.

You will have to purchase the newest iLife in the boxed set to get the latest version of iDVD. Or you can try using some other DVD burning software such as Roxio's Toast. Look for it and others at MacUpdate or CNET Downloads

In iMovie when I try to share a project to a file on an external hard drive it will work the first time but subsequently it says it is sharing but gives no time and file name and in fact just sits there not sharing the file.

I have iMovie 10.0.4. I want to transfer some old DV tape videos to MPEG 4 files to be stored on a 4 TB external drive. I successfully imported the video to iMovie, created a project by moving all captured files into a project and the first time I shared the project to a file it worked as expected. Every subsequent try to transfer another video would fail to transfer. When I clicked save it gives the warning that it is too big for iCloud, iso I click create on this computer. The progress circle comes up with no indication of progress. The show activity drop down just says sharing to "file" no file name as in the first one and indicates no time remaining. In fact it just sits there apparently doing nothing. I'v tried it a half dozen times, deleted everything and started over. It transfers the first project to file and then nothing on additional tries. What do I have wrong, am I missing something?

In iTunes 11 uncheck the preferences setting in in the iTunes Preferences panel "Advanced > Copy Files to iTunes Media folder when adding to Library"

I have two users on my laptop. when i try to share my itune files from the main account, the second acount itunes will not find the files. the help suggestions must be for an older version of itunes. when i click find files-nothing happens.

I cannot share itune files on the same laptop. I have two users on my laptop using windows 7.file sharing is turned on,when i click on the itune startup screen-find music files, nothing happens. the instructions in the help section must be from an earlier version of itunes because the edit folder is not laid out like it describes.

Have you rendered both iOS 7 and iOS 8 (both of which will work on your iPhone 5) out of the question entirely without trying every possible configuration? The animations can be disabled entirely, if that's the problem. And if the whiter-brighter user interface is the problem, there's reverse-contrast modes that darken everything. You can expose accessibility controls to gain immediate access to these functions to toggle them on and off. I guess my point is you may have decided against upgrading the OS based on an early experience with iOS 7 when Apple has since made changes in later revisions to address some of the usability complaints.
Now, Apple's instructions for downloading older versions of apps is to do so from the Purchased list, not from the app's product page.
