When I try to sign in to iCloud it says it needs to be verified by a different email. But no email is being sent to this email address. Why not?

I keep trying to sign in and it keeps saying "Check your email at ***********.com for instructions to verify this account." But there is no email or message being received at this email address. I really want to use iCloud and I'm not understanding why this is not working. I'm thinking there needs to be another email sent but I am just not aware of how to send it. Please help me.

You must have had another apple ID at some stage with its own password and it is that ID that must e the primary or rescure email address for the ID. Go to appleid.apple.com and then to manage ID and see if you can't sort it there

Welcome to the Apple Community.
Go to the 'Go' menu in the Finder and hold down the option key to reveal the Library. Then navigate to library > preferences > system configuration and drag the 'Networkinterfaces.plist' file to the trash and restart for mac. Now try again.

Everywhere I search on Apple's Support site says to sign in to iCloud using your "Apple ID," which I did. I've had my iTunes account for years (even migrated from the old AOL account system). It's the standard email+password that everyone is supposed to use.
My main question is how can I have a valid Apple ID and not an iCloud account--if the two are supposed to be linked?

I've tried both. First, I tried on my pc, where iTunes had installed iCloud when it last updated. I have iTunes installed on this computer (and on my iPad and iPhone), but that wasn't the issue.
So I went online, thinking I needed a separate iCloud Apple ID, but it prompted me for my current Apple ID and gave me the message about my ID being "valid" but not an iCloud account," which, lol, was what it had asked me to do in order to create one. If you didn't create an iCloud account on an iOS device or Mac, you don't have one. You can't create an account on a PC. If you were charged for an iCloud storage upgrade without having an account, contact the Apple online store at the bottom of this page for a refund.

If you've already reset the password and changed your payment information, then the next best thing to do is call Apple directly and ask for iTunes Billing Support. Your account is likely disabled on their computers as part of their fraud prevention protocol. You may have to verify yourself as the account holder to get the account enabled again.

Solved!! It turned out the problem was being caused by my firewall program little snitch. I had to go into the preferences and turn the network filter off and vola it solved it.

That means you have to sign into/view your account and review you account and make sure you have a valid payment method specified in your account.

Unfortunately, nothing. If there is a problem with the backup you won't be able to use it. You'll have to restor a backup from your computer using iTunes, if you have one.
