How are you trying to transfer it? Which applicaiton on the Mac are you using? How are you connecting the iPhone to the Mac? If you're using iPhoto what version of iPhoto is it and what system are you using?

Forced transfer of videos from iphone to mac

I am using a macbook to sync my iphone with itunes. Recently, it has been forcing me to transfer videos from my iphone to my computer each time I try to sync. If I download a video on my computer and then transfer it to my iphone to watch, it won't let me do it until I say I want to transfer all purchases on my iphone to the computer. If I don't do it, it erases them on my iphone. I have unchecked the sync tv shows, so I don't understand why this is happening. There are some videos I just want to watch on my iphone and not have to have them on my computer. I have never had this problem until recently. Does anyone know how to fix this problem? Just found PhotoUpLink which allows you to send the full quality images to your email. What's quite good is that it allows you to select more than one image to send together. Not exactly what I was looking for, but does the job much better than the current Apple (non tethered) method.

Photos captured by your iPhone shouldn't be a problem.
Photos saved from a received email, from a website, or from a received MMS has caused this problem for some, and I'm not sure why. I haven't experienced the same yet. This may include screenshots.
Email the screenshots only to yourself followed by deleting the screenshots from your iPhone's Camera Roll, and the same for any photos saved from a received email, from a website, or from a received
MMS.
Test if this resolves the problem for importing the photos and video that were captured by your iPhone.

The iphone is not a storage/backup device. It simply mirrors the selected content fo the computer to which it is synced.
The sync is one way - computer to iphone. The only exception is itunes purchases: File>Transfer Purchases

Can not import large videos from iphone to MAC or PC.

When I try to import photos from my iPhone 4s to my MAC (with iPhoto) or PC(with explorer) I got no problem at all but with videos larger than 2-3 gb, I receive the message:iPhoto cannot import your photos because there was a problem downloading an image. Anyone has an idea how to overcome this?

Use Image Capture to upload the video files to a folder on the Desktop and import into iPhoto from there.

I read that Eye-Fi were developing an app to wirelessly transfer photos from the iPhone to a Mac, but this has not been released (approved?) yet, so I wondered if there are any other solutions.
I have Air Sharing Pro, but this does not have access to the phone's photos. As far I can find no other 'drive' app has direct access to the phone's photos to allow wireless copying of photos.
I need a way to quickly transfer full quality photos without the cable. Emailing them is no good since it compresses the image I think and is slow to perform on more than one photo.

I read that image capture (http://apple.stackexchange.com/questions/8954/copy-photos-off-iphone-without-iph oto) or even Preview (http://osxdaily.com/2010/07/10/transfer-photos-from-iphone-to-computer/) could help. Neither of them see my iPhone although cable connected and iTunes does. So my question is two: If Preview and Image Capture are ineed supposed to, why don't they? And is there any other way?

I dont like iphoto so the easiest way to do it is using image capture, just plug in your iphone launch image capture from your applications folder and import all images or just selected images into any folder you want.

How to use Image Capture to transfer images and video from Iphone

I was wondering if I can use the program Image Capture to transfer image and video files from my Iphone? I set up my iphone to be synced with my laptop and tried opening up Image Capture and the program does not read any device attatched. However once I tried connecting my iphone to my imac and Image Capture opened up automatically. Would it be because my iphone is synced with my laptop that prevents it from reading in Image Capture? Any input would be appreciated!

On your laptop, open iPhoto and check it's preferences > General, "Connecting camera opens ..." The available choices are iPhoto, Image Capture, or no application. Make sure it's set correctly.
