When I turn my iPad2 on the background is pink or red and the icons are distorted!

This has happened and the first time I powered it up a few hours later and everything was normal again.

Looks like a hardware failure to me. But to be sure first thing to try is a reboot of your iPad. Press and hold the Home and Sleep buttons simultaneously ignoring the red slider until the Apple logo appears. Let go of the buttons and let the iPad restart. See if that fixes your problem.
If that doesn't help make an appointment at an Apple store for a consultation.

If in settings, music, volume limit is off then restart your phone first. Hold the home and off button down until the apple symbol comes up.

As an aside: Some people report that their cat will "mark" the MBP/MBA keyboard, and such "marking" is not civered under warranty. Closing it while unattended may be wise.

Im getting a grey box at the bottom of my screen under the display line for the add ons like ghostry,personnas and greasemonkey icons are . i cant seem to get a "full screen" anymore . can you tell me how to overcome this

the box is located under the icon line at the bottom of the screen and above the window tool bar/icon box ! its almost like im running in a wide screen mode ! i cant seem to find a way of making the screen deeper, so it fills all the available space ! its also . freezing and it messes with the add ons and the adobe plugins ! a real shame cause i think the new layout is great . kep up the good work

Is there a way to mute the background music in a slideshow so the audio of an included video can be heard?

I am running iPhoto 11 version 9.4.2 (710.42) on a MacBook Pro. Some of the slide shows I have developed have videos included along with photos. I have added background music to these slide shows with the sideshow music selector. The videos have audio that I want the viewer to hear, however the background music continues to play and the video audio is hard to hear, and when there is music in the audio of the video, the two musical pieces tend to clash. Is there a way to mute the background music so the audio of the video can be clearly heard?

That's called 'ducking' and no, not with iPhoto. You need something with more control of the soundtrack.

The sys light blinks red and the GPS light is solid red even though the antenna is at a window. Wan light is blue.

Try iMessaging your own iPhone and see if your account is actually logged in.
It can appear "enabled" and On line but sometimes it is not.
Also try sending from your iPhone (number) to your Apple ID and see if it gets to the Mac.
If it does not use the Sign Out button.
Then shut down the Mac
On restart add back the Apple ID to the iMessages account settings.
I also just checked My wife's iPhone as she popped up red.
It turned out her iPhone did not have Messages On.

Hi I have been having a problem with Bridge in CS4 recently. So uninstalled CS4 and Lightroom 4.4 and reinstalled them on my Desktop PC. When I turned on Bridge through CS4, My thumb nail images disappeared and a thumb nail icon with CR2 appeared. Now some of my images have disappeared from Light room 4.4, but I can find them in CS4 and Bridge now shows some thumb nails as images and some as an icon with CR2. I don't use LR and rarely use the bridge so I can not answers about thumbnails in them, However thumbnails in windows file explorer and windows dialog for CS2 files will only show if you have installed codec into windows that will produce them. Windows does not do CR2 thumbnails on its own. I use FastPictureViewer Codec package for RAW File and PSD files thunbmail support.

You may have a corrupt System File in your OS on on your HD. Try doing a repair (Command-R) boot running disk tools repair disk and repair permissions on your boot volume. If that fails do a reinstall of the OS.
