I'm trying to put the object starting location very precisely and it won't let me.
With those specs, I'm surprised that it runs at all.
What kind of PC to use?

I have just transferred my entire application file from an Imac to an identical Imac, both running OS 10.9.5. Everything works fine, excepting that when I attempt to open Photoshop 6, I am prompted for the serial number. I enter the serial number provided by Adobe, which I have confirmed with my "previous purchase" records kept by Adobe. I've been trying to restore my daughter's mini ipad to factory settings. When I click restore ipad (while it's connected to itunes) it will update for a while then a pop up will say I need to enter the passcode on the ipad!! That's the whole point of restoring the ipad. We don't know the password and it's disabled. HELP

‘iPad is disabled’ fix without resetting using iTunes
Today I met my match with an iPad that had a passcode entered too many times, resulting in it displaying the message ‘iPad is disabled – Connect to iTunes’. This was a student iPad and since they use Notability for most of their work there was a chance that her files were not all backed up to the cloud. I really wanted to just re-activate the iPad instead of totally resetting it back to our default image.
I reached out to my PLN on Twitter and had some help from a few people through retweets and a couple of clarification tweets. I love that so many are willing to help out so quickly. Through this I also learned that I look like Lt. Riker from Star Trek (thanks @FillineMachine).
Through some trial and error (and a little sheer luck), I was able to reactivate the iPad without loosing any data. Note, this will only work on the computer it last synced with. Here’s how:
1. Configurator is useless in reactivating a locked iPad. You will only be able to completely reformat the iPad using Configurator. If that’s ok with you, go for it – otherwise don’t waste your time trying to figure it out.
2. Open iTunes with the iPad disconnected.
3. Connect the iPad to the computer and wait for it to show up in the devices section in iTunes.
4. Click on the iPad name when it appears and you will be given the option to restore a backup or setup as a new iPad (since it is locked).
5. Click ‘Setup as new iPad’ and then click restore.
6. The iPad will start backing up before it does the full restore and sync. CANCEL THE BACKUP IMMEDIATELY. You do this by clicking the small x in the status window in iTunes.
7. When the backup cancels, it immediately starts syncing – cancel this as well using the same small x in the iTunes status window.
8. The first stage in the restore process unlocks the iPad, you are basically just canceling out the restore process as soon as it reactivates the iPad.
If done correctly, you will experience no data loss and the result will be a reactivated iPad. I have now tried this with about 5 iPads that were locked identically by students and each time it worked like a charm.

I have a very old (by computer standards) MacBook Pro, and a newer one. I've been using the old one mostly for iTunes, into which I have only CD entries. For a long time, years, the old MacBook pro ceased entering the song titles. This is very time consuming for me, so I finally investigated a bit further.
I discovered how to enter the track titles onto my newer MacBook Pro, and was so pleased! But when I tried to do the same with the other laptop, it failed.
What I did, basically, was what the Apple Help suggested--choose iTunes General Preferences, etc.etc. And yes, I did upgrade the old laptop to the newest iTunes version.
Am I just wasting my time here? Is there some reason why an older Mac Pro will not do what the newer one will, with regard to iTunes?
My older laptop is a 2.6 GHz Core Duo; it has 36 GB of "memory available." The newer one a 2.3 GHz Intel Core i7. It has 284 GB of memory available.

I am trying to load LR on my new macbook pro. It asks for the serial number. I enter the digits, but it says, quote, " This is an upgrade serial number. The serial number from your previous version of Lightroom is also required."
If you still have the old computer and it is a MAC, the Lightroom 5 serial numbers are in a text file.

So, my iphone 5 will be no where close to dying but when I go to slide to unlock it turns off then turns back on. Or if I go to my camera it turns off and right back on. What's going on?

I am using an apple TV to show a slide show which is sent via WiFi from a mini computer. The slide show repeats for a few hours and then stops and shows "no signal". What's going on… and how do I get the show to cycle indefinitely? (I have set the server to NEVER sleep)

itunes says my itunes card "has not been properly activated" when i enter the code. this is not the "invalid" message related to entering the code improperly.
Are you able to go back to the store that you bought it from and ask them to activate it properly ? I'm having trouble with my clone tool. When I am cloning it appears OK (the image within the brush circles is the correct colours) however once the cloning is done, it processes leaving me with a darkened blur. Any help with what's going on would be appreciated.

I'm no expert, but I would think Space Gray would be your answer, because it has a black front. The Silver iPad Air has a white front.

Open Keychain Access in Utilities, use Keychain First Aid under the Keychain Menu item, then either check the Password under that item, change it, or delete it and start over.

What's going on? When I type the title of my new Pages document, iwork is substituting a hyphen for the colon I want. This is bizarre! How do I make my computer do my thing vs its thing? I have Pages '09.
Colons are used by the operating system so can't be used in file names.
