When I type in a website link in email, how to automatically make it a hotlink

The website link addresses I type in remain in text form, with no hotlink

There is usually a toolbar button in the editor to turn a text link into a clickable hyperlink (look for a chain like button). 
You can select the text and click that button to turn the link into a clickable hyperlink. 
If you can't find the button then hover them all to check the tooltip of each.

Do a malware check with some malware scanning programs. 
You need to scan with all programs because each program detects different malware. 
Make sure that you update each program to get the latest version of their databases before doing a scan.

To migrate your data to a new iCloud account go to Settings>iCloud and turn off all synced data (contacts, calendars, etc.), when prompted choose to keep the data on your phone. After everything is set to off, scroll to the bottom and tap Delete Account. Next, create the new iCloud account on your phone and turn on syncing for contacts, calendars, etc again. The 20 meg message is the download limit for 3G. If you can't get rid of the 'OK' message then you can do a reset by pressing and holding both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.
You should be able to download the apps by switching to wifi on your iPad or downloading them on your computer's iTunes and syncing them or dragging and dropping them over to the iPad device.

Sorry, yes this is Microsoft Excel. The Microsoft XP has Excel files denoted as xl, the later versions of Microsoft Excel are denoted as xls files. The later verions of Microsoft Excel open the xl files OK, does Excel for Mac not able to do this?

You can go to Applications, Utilities, Activiy Monitor to see just how much space is available. To free space you need to remove files that take a lot of space, things like videos, photos, music. Get an external hard drive, OWC http://www.macsales.com has a good selection, and move material off the internal drive.

Have you installed something called "CleanMyMac?"

Firefox starts up perfectly fine, but when i type in any website it immediety deletes whatever address i typed in and doesnt even attempt to load the page.

So basicly what is happening is when i type in say google.com for example. Firefox pretty much does absolutly nothing except delete google.com from the address bar, and stays on the startup page. And this happens for every website, i cannot get off the startup page because of this. And currently the only web browser that will work right now for me is IE (64-bit). Which is strange because when i try to start any other version of IE it gives me the error that tells me there is no internet connection, when there clearly is. If anyone has had this problem or knows how i can fix this i will be forever in your debt. Also, if this helps I cannot download/install chrome, vuze, torch browser, or ubuntu. Thank you all in advance.

The Reset Firefox feature can fix many issues by restoring Firefox to its factory default state while saving your essential information.

To Reset Firefox do the following:
#Go to Firefox > Help > Troubleshooting Information.
#Click the "Reset Firefox" button.

When I type in a website in the address bar, it doesn't take me to the website I typed in. I hit enter and the green arrow also and it does nothing.

I have to go to google and type in the website from the address bar and go from there. Also the back and forward buttons do not work on any of the betas for FF4.

This type of behaviour can be caused by an incompatible add-on. Follow the procedure in the [[Troubleshooting extensions and themes]] article to identify the culprit. In Firefox 4 betas you can use the "Restart with Add-ons Disabled" option in the Help sub-menu to go into safe mode.
If you use AVG and have AVG Safe Search, start by disabling that extension as it has caused problems with the location bar for some people.

Issue with embedded website links in emails

Hello all,
First time on this forum and hopefully someone can help me with this issue, which popped up in the last few weeks. Whenever there is a link in the emails that I received, the link is only underlined and highlighted up to about 30 or so characters and when I click on it, it will open another window but the address is only the portion of the link that is highlighted, therefore, it always comes back with an error. I have been getting around this issue but manually highlighting the entire link address in the email and then copy and paste it in a new window to get to the site that I wanted. This is getting annoying and I don't know why it happened suddenly and how to fix it.

I lost my address book when I installed Mountain Lion and have not been able to recover it. WHen I type in a name in an email the address shows up, so I know it is in there. How can I restore my address book?

I don't know how to do this. I typed the question in the bar above, but apparently need to type it again here. I lost my entire address book when I installed Mountain Lion and have been unable to recover it. I know the information is in there as when I type in someone's name in an email the address always shows up right away. How can I find the information for my contacts and restore my address book? Do I need to go to the Apple Store that is 2 hours away and have an expert help me or can I find out how to do it online for free myself?

The auto-complete in Mail addresses comes from two sources: (1) The "Previous Recipients" list, which can be viewed via Mail > Window > Previous Recipients. (2) Your Address Book (now called "Contacts").
If you did in fact lose your Address Book - are you sure you don't have "Contacts" in your Applications Folder? - It sounds like you are getting addresses from source (1). If you did in fact lose your Address Book (now called "Contacts" !!), you will have to restore it from a backup.

Sometimes when I type instead of the words on email or web it types the letters in the web browser area

The problem only started about 2 weeks ago although I have been using Firefox for years.
It doesn't happen all the time but sometimes when I type the letters do not show up in the email or web pages but show up in the web browser area at the top.

It may be the problem with your wrists touching the trackpad? If you are using a laptop.
