When i updated my iPod to IOS 6 my ipod freezes every 5 secs why?
When i updated my iPod touch 4g to IOS 6 after 1 day my iPod started crashing every 5 seconds or start freezing. I still have that problem and i cannot use my iPod for nothing anymore. I try to play so music is crashes the iPod and sometimes when i turn off my iPod it takes about 4 minutes to turn on. I need help.
Try:
- Reset the iPod. Nothing will be lost
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
- Restore from backup
- Restore to factory settings/new iPod.
- Make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store.

Are you aware that if you restore your ipad that you will lose all data from your ipad and very difficult to get it back unless you had previously made a back-up of your data on itunes or in the cloud. and that would be on the computer you set those up on. (There are some independent apps out there that might help restore data but I don't have any experience with them...)
Also, I think if you restore on another computer you're supposed to have administrator rights and have the latest itunes update. And I think if you sync (if restoring is considered syncing with another computer, you'll be locked out of your computer or a new one.)
I don't know if there is a way for you to safely eject your ipad from your mom's laptop and find another way, but please read this

And then tell the story of your problem that you originally included and your follow-up efforts to restore given a suggestion on previous post (though I think you SHOULD AVOID RSTORE if you can.) And that's exactly the problem, because everyone should have their own account for iCloud. You can share an Apple ID for iTunes & App Store purchases, but you shouldn't do that for iCloud (Mail, Calendar, Contacts etc. ... ...and Photos). The problem of using the same account together could mean that only your dad's photos were stored.

Your iOS version is probably too old to support software update. You must update using iTunes on your computer.
Make sure your iTunes on the computer is current. Plug your iPhone into iTunes. Let it sync. Then choose "Check for Updates..." from the iPhone's summary tab in iTunes. That should od it for you. -
When I updated my iPhone to iOS 6.1.3, somehow the iTunes App did not make it back to my iPhone. So, I now have an iPhone without the iTunes App. All other apps are on my iPhone. How do I get back my iTunes App, so I can continue buying music and flix?
Check the General -> Restrictions settings and see if perhaps the iTunes app is turned off there. If not, the app may have been inadvertently moved to another home screen or dropped into a folder. Do a search for the app or try resetting the Home screen layout: Choose General > Reset, then tap Reset Home Screen Layout.

Hello, my email is connected to Lotus Notes. When I updated my iPad to iOS 6, it REQUIRED that I have a password for the iPad or else my email wouldn't work or synchronize with Lotus Notes (on my work laptop). This is really frustrating, because I cannot disable the password under General<Passcode. Thanks!
This would almost certainly be a setting that is being enforced by your company. You'll need to talk to them about this.

I lost all my data from my iPad when I upgraded to iOS4. Luckily I got most of it back with a restore to backup. I recently got an iPhone 4S. When I went to set it up I realized that I hadn't upgraded the iPad to iOS5. When I attempted the upgrade it said I couldn't do a backup - something about an error during the back up. I had to reset to factory settings in order to upgrade and I again lost all my data. Unfortunately the last time the iPad actually completed a back up was May of 2011. I'm attempting to restore to the May settings and see if I can recover any data or if I'm SOL. Any idea why the recent upgrades are mucking up machines? The early upgrades went smoothly. Only the last 2 have been problematic.

If the jailbreak was to unlock the iPhone you will need to call AppleCare, give them the model and serial number of your iPhone and find out which cell carrier it is locked with. Then contact the cell carrier and see what their official unlock process is and if you qualify.

The problem is that the Add-ons Manager tab when opened the first time, is on "Get Add-ons" section and that must be downloaded from the Add-ons server which might be overburdened.

When I updated my ipods touch os version it wiped out all my software I had paid for, my pictures, music, videos, contacts everything. What a rip off. I would just go back to my last version, but I'm sure that wouldn't help. What a racket, make people buy software then put out a new version and wipe there system so they have to buy the software again. Anyone have any idea's?
You can redownload iTunes pruchases by:

The iPod backup that iTunes makes during every sync and and as the a early step of an USB update does not contain synced media like apps and music. It has aloways been that way. If rhe synced media is not in your iTunes library when you do the restore it can't be synced to the iPod during a latter part of the update. See:

I was on the phone earlier with apple care for some questions regarding safari, and I mentioned to him about all the problems people are have with the 6.1 upgrade, and asked what could they do if their ipad is out of warranty. He said anyone with an ipad that has problems with a upgrade, has up to 30 after it was released to call apple support for help at no cost.
