When i use on of my usb ports it freezes my mouse

when i use one of my usb ports it freezes my mouse

Had the same problem and trying to remember how I fixed it. Let's see...
Try this:
1) Settings > Messages > Receive At > Use your Apple ID for iMessage > make sure you are logged out from Apple / iTunes.
2) under "You can be reached for messages at:" > make sure only your phone number shows and no email address.
Hope that works, if not I just can't remember what else I did. However I got it working so that my tel number now shows to iMessage recipients instead of my email address.

How do I get my ipod touch 5th generation to always use my car speakers when I plug it into the USB port?

If the problem occurs after you restore it to factory defaults/new iPod then it is likely a hardware problem.  I would make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store.

I´m working with a Power Mac G4 1.25 Mhz 1.75 Gb SDRAM. Anytime I connect a flash memory into USB port cursor freezes up. I disconect the flash drive and cursor works fine. I tried with several pen drives and it hapens the same. this starts few days ago and also I noticed that the computer shutdown when is n ot in use for a while. Any help in this matter will be apreciated.
    Thanks in advance.

You don't say which USB port you are plugging into. Don't plug into the side of your keyboard - the circuit gets overloaded. Plug into the port on the rear of your Mac. Besides your keyboard and mouse, what other USB devices are connected?
You may want to get a powered USB hub - has a separate power supply. Another alternative is to get a USB 2.0 PCI card.

  • Problem when plugging in M-Audio into USB port

    Hi there,
Whenever I plug in my M-Audio Fast Track Ultra into the USB drive, the screen greys out and it comes up with a message that I have to restart by holding down the power button.
Once I've done this it works fine, and there are no issues while using the interface (with Logic 9), and I've tried it on both USB drives.
Any ideas of what I can do to stop this from happening/whether it's a problem with the computer or the interface?
    My laptop  specs are below.
    Thank you in advance...
    Michael

    Hello Pjgordon7, Welcome to discussions.
Below are a couple articles that may assist with this. They are written for iPhone/iPod Touch but they may assist you with the iPod Classic as well. If not I have also posted some other suggestions below.

-Check E-machines vendor website for possible updates not only to USB drivers but any other drivers that may need updating like camera software, video card software, etc. They can advise what is needed for your machine.
-If you are connecting iPod Classic to front USB ports. Try using some of the USB Ports on the back of the machine.
-Disconnect any un-needed USB Devices and only connect iPod Classic

  • My itunes will not pick up my ipads when i put it into the usb ports...???

    Hi all,
I'm having a problem where neither of my ipads are being picked up by itunes when they are pulgged into any USB port.... They used to only 3weeks ago...
The only thing i have done is purchased an Ipod of ebay, and loaded music on to it....  i have only just found out the ipod is  still registered to who ever had it before....
Is this the problem and any ideas how to solve it guys....?

    Two separate problems.
For your iPads, try going into the control panel, add/remove programs. Uninstall iTunes, Apple mobile device service, Apple application support. then redownload and reinstall iTunes
See if it sees your ipad now.
For the iPod, what you've run into is the activation lock. It's a new feature of iOS7 where an owner's apple ID is needed to wipe a device. If the ebay seller cannot or will not give you that apple ID, contact ebay and return the iPod. There is a very good chance that your ipod is stolen (or at the very least not the seller's to sell).
If you can't unlock it, you've bought a brick so get your money back.

Have you updated iTunes with the absolute latest software?  If you have not in a long time, your iPad won't be recognized.

  • HT2801 Apple Store said that the USB SuperDrive would work with my iMac that already has an internal optical drive to be used as a secondary drive, but I can't get it to work when I plug it in the usb port.

Apple store said the USB SuperDrive would work as a secondary drive with my iMac.
After plugging into my USB port, I find it doesn't work.  Has anybody else tried this.

Which USB Superdrive are you referring to? If this is the one:
    http://store.apple.com/us/product/MD564ZM/A/apple-usb-superdrive
it states it works with Macbook Air, Mini, or MBP with Retina display. If they told you differently, take it back for a full refund and show them their own website.

  • Using my Mini on USB port of DVD to play music

"There isn't an aac to mp3 converter in iTunes"
That is incorrect. If you have selected the format of mp3 in the importing options, then highlight all your songs in iTunes, use the "advanced/convert to mp3" option, or right click on the songs and select "convert to mp3". This will create a duplicate of all your songs in mp3 format, so you will have to delete the aac ones if you no longer want them, and of course you'll have to transfer the mp3 songs to your iPod.
However, what iTunes will not do is convert the songs purchased from the iTunes MS, as these aac songs are DRM protected. The way to get around this is to burn these songs to an audio cd, then import this cd into iTunes as you would any other.
Please note that converting songs in both the methods I've mentioned, will compress an already compressed file, and as a result you may notice a reduction in sound quality, although this may not be sufficient to bother you.
"I understand that mp3 format takes up more space on the iPod as well"
Again, this isn't so. The same song imported in either mp3 or aac at the same settings gives a file size that is almost identical.

  • System hangs when any device is plugged into usb port

    Proccessor:  AMD 64 3200+
    Motherboard: MSI RS480M2
    OS:  Windows XP (Home Version)
    Primary Hard Drive:  Maxtor 6L160M0
Secondary Hard Drive (Data Sorage):  WDC WD400BB-00HEA0
Most of the posts on this site are over my head so keep responses simple.
I upgraded this computer myself about 3 months ago with the above listed new proccessor and motherboard.  Everything had been working fine until a couple of days ago the computer hung while surfing the internet.  Reboot attempt was unsuccessfull.  Windows would hang everytime while loading.  My primary hard drive was about 4 years old and wanting to upgrade to a larger drive anyway I installed the above listed Maxtor hard drive yesterday thinking it might solve the problem.  It looked like it was solving the problem until I started plugging in USB devices.  If I plug in my Epson USB printer or my USB jump drive, the computer hangs immediately.  If I plug in my Microsoft Joystick or CH rudder pedals, it gives me a message that an unknown device is plugged in and that the device has failed.  It appears the that hard drive replacement actually did nothing to change the problem.  I had not thought to unplug USB devices as a solution to the problem initially.  Once I plug in my printer or jump drive the computer is doing exactly what it was doing before.
I am pretty convinced there has been a failure on the motherboard.  To have everything working fine for 3 months and suddenly without any software changes it stops working. Then, after reloading all the software again to still have the same exact problem.  I think that pretty much eliminates software as an issue and it also eliminates the hard drive as a problem.
I did have a problem finding my motherboard's CD but I downloaded the system drivers from the MSI website plus I installed Live Update 3 and installed everything it recommended including a new BIOS.  I also loaded the SATA RAID files from the floppy which I did have here (even though I am not using the SATA RAID feature).  I feel confident I got everything installed now and still not working.  Everything else works perfectly as long as I do not plug anything into USB ports.

I have to say that using this forum is not very intuitive for me.  It's hard to even figure out how to post a message.
Anyway, we can close this out.  I took my computer in and had a diagnosis run on it.  It turns out the USB portion of the motherboard has failed and they are replacing it now.
To answer the question though.  I had removed both the old hard drives when I initially installed the new MAXTOR and still had the problem and I did make sure they were jumpered as slaves before I connected them back up later.
    Thanks for you help.

  • Why does my nook open iphoto when i plug it in the usb port on the back of my imac running 10.6.8

I have downloaded Adobe Digital Editions and downloaded Overdrive from the public library. When I plug the Nook eReader in the USB port in the back of the iMac, iPhoto opens immediately. I know this is not a forum for Nook eReaders, but I have to start somewhere and figured since iPhoto is opening automatically, maybe someone can give me a clue.
    thank you,

Most likely, because your Mac and iPhoto think that you have connected a camera or mass storage device that has images on it.
Not sure where to go from there, but I would start by looking at the setting in both iPhoto Preferences and Image Capture if I wanted iPhoto to ignore that device.

  • 23" Cinema won't wake when connected to 13" MBP unibody USB ports

My 23" Cinema Display has difficulty waking from sleep when it's connected to either of the USB ports of my 13" MacBook Pro unibody. There are times when it won't come on at all and I have to force a shut down, disconnect the USB cable and restart, whereupon things are fine until the computer sleeps again. I can run the display with no problems at all if I don't connect the USB cable to the computer.
I would love to have the functionality of the two USB ports on the back of the monitor, so if anyone has a solution or any ideas, I'm all ears. Thanks!

Stange we have had the same problem with our 17" MPB and display this morning....
