Hi,
I'm using 10.0.7. It's like snapping won't turn off. Instead ,if i use the keyboard to nudge the clips, there's no problem. I am using that at the moment.

I don't know what happened but suddently I can't move my files located in my desktop. They will always stay in the right side of the desktop and when I try to move them to the left or somewhere else it won't allow me to.
try the Finder>View>Show view options
make changes to grid size, sort by none, icon size
and see if this makes a difference. We can go from there. -
Razor blade tool not cutting audio and video at the same time

When using the razor blade tool in a timeline, my razor only cuts the video track, or one audio track at a time. The audio and video were imported together.
I would like for the video and two audio tracks to be cut at the same time--so that when I'm cutting I don't have to click three times (VA1A2).
What needs changed to do this? Thank you!!!!
A little annoying -- but would be a time saver. Never had this problem before FCS2.

Why in Ai CC 2014, when I use a pathfinder tool on two objects, their anchor points snap slightly off from where they were? I'm looking under all the snap to options under VIEW & cannot find the culprit. Please help!

I was all ready to say you have fill turned down until I got to the bit about it turning red. Does this happen on a new document with a single layer, or only on multi layer documents? So like cp says... brush or layer mode most probably. I did wonder about Quick mask though.

why does my photoshop keep giving black and white lines when I use my lasso tool? It has never done this before last night. It filles the Whole lasso seleted box with (what it almost looks like) black and white caution lines. then when I go to zoom out, my zoom option starts to mess up where you cant click and move your mouse to zoom in/out with ease but where you have to click to zoom out (many times).
Can ANYONE help me?I am using CS5, WIndows 7, I am not sure how to tell if my drivers are up to, and I am more than happy to screen shot it.

I've got STP 3.0 and have up until now been editing my audio directly in FCP or if it's small jobs, just using SoundStudio 3 from Freeverse.
I'm trying to trim an audio track to 30 seconds so I can set the fade in/out as I need them for a DVDSP project. I could do this in FCP and be done with it, but want to learn STP and start using the right tool for the job.
I've read the manual, and it says there is a blade tool, but pressing B doesn't work, and I don't see an icon for it in the tool bar. I've got the Layout set to Standard, and the audio track in the top window with envelopes on for manual control of fade in/out like I'd use the Pen tool in FCP. But I can't figure out where the blade tool is.
Reading the STP 3 manual, searching for Blade tool, it shows Blade and Blade All Tools, and shows a different toolbar than I have showing in my window.
I have (L to R) Selection Tool, Frequency Selection Tool, Sample Edit Tool, Audio Stretching Tool, Zoom Tool and Scrub Tool. But no Blade/Blade All Tool.
The Help isn't that useful either, for Using the Timeline Editing Tools, it says: "The Timeline includes editing tools you can use to edit and adjust clips in the Timeline."

What you have discovered is that there are two ways of working in STP, in an Audio file project and in a multi-track project, each with its own set of functionality and features. The blade tool is available in multi-track projects; you are working on an audio file project, where that tool isn't available.
Since you don't have the blade tool, just select the portion of audio that you want to delete, and press delete or backspace. STP will delete it, but also keep track of that "action" so you can add it back in later if you need to. -

Thanks for help EddieHow about having the Pointer Tool set as your main tool and setting the Marquee Tool as your "Command tool" (i.e., the one that shows up by pressing the Command Key).
Then you can hold down the Command key, make your Marquee selection, let go of the Command key and your back to the pointer, then Option-Drag the selection to a new location.
From the LP7 Reference (pp.16-17):
"When editing objects graphically, you always have two tools available at the mouse pointer position: one is already active, the other is activated by holding down Command. ... To assign a tool to Command, click on the desired tool in the Toolbox, with Command depressed."

My new LaCie external hard drive is 'seen' by my iMac and I can go into the Finder and open files and folders. I am using the hard drive for Time Machine back up. However Time Machine says it can't find the drive.
The same thing happened recently between Final Cut Express and my other LaCie external hard drive used as the Scratch disk. It fixed itself.
I've run out of ideas. Help would be very much appreciated. Thanks.have you done some searches on FCPx and time machine? You cannot have time machine backups on your hard drive if you intend to use it in FCPX.

When I try to print a photo from iphoto, I click print and the preview shows a lot of the photo cut off. It also prints this way. How can I print the whole photo?
After selecting File > Print, a pop-up window should appear. Select "Customize" and this should take you back into a panel within iPhoto. Towards the bottom, you should see an option for "Layout". Select this option and choose the correct photo orientation.

Garage Band, I am using an MBOX with a digi design audio core as a mic interface to recod into Garage Band. Now when I Change the preferences to use the MBOX I can not move the recorder slider and there is no sound going into garage band? Any solutions
10.5.8 with latest garageband 5.1 with MBOX 1. On Nov 4.09 I did a software update, now i get no output volume or input volume to the computer itself. I get it from head phones from my mbox, but not to the computer. Before the software update It worked great. I've tried upgrading software through digidesign .com, but they dont seem to have one for what i need. any way to get my old garage band back? go from 5.1 to earlier? Or maybe it was the upgrade to 10.5.8. update? Can i go back in time lol?
Any help would be appreciated

I have a macbook pro, but the amount of pictures I have now exceeds 500GB
I want to have all the pictures in iPhoto, so I could see them and edit them in iPhoto.
Which means... I need the iPhoto file folder in an external HDD to use iPhoto that way.

Moving the iPhoto library is safe and simple - quit iPhoto and drag the iPhoto library intact as a single entity to the external drive - depress the option key and launch iPhoto using the "select library" option to point to the new location on the external drive - fully test it and then trash the old library on the internal drive (test one more time prior to emptying the trash)
And be sure that the External drive is formatted Mac OS extended (journaled) (iPhoto does not work with drives with other formats) and that it is always available prior to launching iPhoto
And backup soon and often - having your iPhoto library on an external drive is not a backup and if you are using Time Machine you need to check and be sure that TM is backing up your external drive

I had on my desk top PC (a vista OS) a version of FireFox that the book marks where listed in the book tool bar tab and the "book tool" was able to show all my favs and there was a scroll bar on the right side of the top right side. I would like very much to turn it on in the Laptop I just bought and am having a fit trying to figure out all the differences,.I very much like this function; however, I am now using win 7 which in and of itself is difficult to figure out troubles when they occur such as if the MSN Bing program opens a video window while I am playing, the media center will lock up, or if I am listening to BBradio.org and click on lestening to one of the pastors the laptop will show static on the screen and all you hear is static like you just went to the twilight zone.

even though all photos look like they are the right way up, when the slideshow commences, some of them display sideways. I have tried re-rotating them - and still have same problem. Help please - need it for Saturday night !
What version of iPhoto are you using? Are you creating the slideshow directly from an album or are you using the slideshow mode?
As a test launch iPhoto with the Option key held down and create a new, test library. Import some photos and test to see if the same problem persists. Does it?
