When I want to mail a web-page or link firefox keeps opening new windows and cannot be stopped.

My laptop is a Samsung R730 (quite happy with it). I use Eudora for e-mailing. If I want to mail a web-page or link and click under 'file'to send it, Firefox starts opening new tabs without stopping up to over a hundred. I have to brutally switch off my lap-top, start agaiu. Restart Firefox which wants to open all the old tabs, click it off quickly. After that I can reopen to normal.

You get that problem if you select the Firefox program to handle a file if you get an "open with" dialog.

  • When I click on a pdf doc on a site, Firefox begins opening new windows until I quit the application. On a mac.

The dialog box of downloads that appears on Firefox after a download is complete shows the document as a .pdf. (of course this is after I restart Firefox). However, in my user/downloads folder, the document is .pdf.part

  • Silent print a PDF from a web page using Flex. We are targeting Windows and Mac with Arcobat reader installed

We are planning to Silent print a PDF from a web page using Flex. We are targeting Windows and Mac with Arcobat reader installed. I have tried using the AIR appliaction and it worked, But our requirement is NO INSTALL to the user machine for the silent printing. It is just from web page and silent printing to the default printer to the desktop/Laptop. Can anyone share your thoughts and experience with us. It will be very helpful..
For AIR : I tried the thread Re: AIR and PDF showing/silent printing

    Hey CodeMonkey & Ross,
Did you either of you ever find a solution? I'm stuck too, it seems I can get remote printing on all these PDFs to work but it just prints a blank page since I've been using Javascript in the browser, not Adobe's (they are Engineering drawings that I do not have permission to edit so I can't just insert code into them but I need to make work instructions). I've been scouring the internet for hours now, it seems that this thread is the only relevant/useful one at this point. No one else was trying to achieve this for similar reasons to mine.
    Thanks guys,
    Lox

  • Firefox keeps opening multiple windows when web link to iTunes clicked.

Running Windows 7, 64 bit. Clicked the "View in iTunes" button on this page, https://itunes.apple.com/gb/app/smartscan-express-fastest/id533516060?mt=8
Link did not open and instead Firefox kept opening another window continuously until there were dozens of windows opening one on top of the other. The only way to stop this was to Shut Down the PC. This has happened on several occasions and it's always when a link to iTunes is concerned.

Sorry, this can happen when Firefox asks how you want to open something that Firefox doesn't know how to open, but you tell Firefox to go ahead and open it. This article describes the various ways to resolve it: [[Firefox repeatedly opens empty tabs or windows after you click on a link]].

  • On bank web site opening a check shows in a new window and cannot access the print capability in Firefox

When I open a check picture from my bank register it opens in a new window and I cannot print from that window. I want to be able to print to the pdf printer so that I can save a copy of my check to the hard drive. I do not have any access to any printers from this window that Firefox opens. It works fine in Internet Explorer and Google Chrome. Any ideas on how to resollve this?

  • I want to open links & sites in a new window and not a new tab, how can I do that?

when I click on a link I want to open a new window, instead to open a new tab.

Uncheck: Firefox > Preferences > Tabs: [ ] "Open new windows in a new tab instead"
Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).

  • Firefox is opening new windows automaticly most often when I move the curser

Firefox has started opening new windows that show redirect. This happens most often when I move the curser. The problem is intermittent as it seems to stop when you close all the windows at times. Then when you go to a new page it starts opening new windows again.

If this affects a lot of sites randomly, there's a good chance it is caused by an add-on. Try this:
Disable ALL nonessential or unrecognized extensions on the Add-ons page. Either:
    * Ctrl+Shift+a
    * "3-bar" menu button (or Tools menu) > Add-ons
In the left column, click Extensions. Then, if in doubt, disable (or if obviously bad, remove).
Usually a link will appear above at least one disabled extension to restart Firefox. You can complete your work on the tab and click one of the links as the last step.
Does that shut down the extra windows?
    Also recommended:
    (1) Visit the Windows Control Panel, Uninstall a Program. Click the "Installed on" column heading to group by date. Then look for any recent unrecognized programs that may have snuck in as part of a bundle. Remove everything you do not know to be useful and trustworthy.

  • TOC Links won't open New Window, Whole Page

RoboHelp HTML 11, Internet Explorer 11. Multiscreen HTML5 layout.
I'm trying to experiment with the different ways of opening links: New Window, Whole Page, Same Frame, etc.
Yesterday the different variations worked the way they should, but today every link in the TOC opens as if set to "Default (none)".
As for Links on topic pages, "New Window" opens a new tab, and "Whole Page" seems to go to Default (including the sidebar, which I gather should not be there).
    Any ideas?
    -- Shawn

    Hi,
    Responsive or Multiscreen?
For the HTML5 version, the frame options for links won't work.
New Window should open a new tab. That is as expected.
The rest will work like a regular link.
The frame options really are just for WebHelp only. And only the new window and whole page make any sense.
    Kind regards,
    Willam

  • When you want to reduce the web page two options are offered at the top right hand of the page:

The options for reducing the size of a web page are offered via the square and dash signs at the top right hand of the page.
In my case the square does not work - it simply leaves the page at the original size. My only option is to use the dash which reduces the page to its minimum - an icon on the task bar.

Thanks a lot! This solves my problem.
Initially I only got a vertical reduction but with a bit of fiddling around I am back to the normal operation.
    Have a good day!
    Col

  • Pressing alt+tab to change program or pressing tab to move to next entry cell in a web page is causing Firefox to open a new tab

A new tab is being opened in Firefox (started only today) when I do any of the following
    1. pressing alt+tab when in Firefox
    2. pressing tab to change data entry cell in a web page
    3. pressing direction keys (any of up - down - left - right)

Upgrade Firefox to Firefox 13 (released today) and then try to Reset Firefox. This will fix most problems with Firefox that people experience. [[Reset Firefox – easily fix most problems]]

  • Why does the start up web page say my Firefox is out of date; and the link I click to to fix it says it IS up to date? Was the first one a lie?

Which is the lie, the first page or the second web page?
The details are that my first time user impression is that Firefox is a liar, or that the web page is developed by liars; or that the program doesn't function well as it said that my Firefox was out of date, but the link to fix the problem said that is was up to date. So, the only purpose of the statement that it was out of date was to get me to register, and that the company doesn't care what I think about it. I am totally open to another logical explanation. I mean you could give me an illogical explanation based on emotion but I'll just reject it and then uninstall Firefox because, well, that should be obvious. So, if it wasn't a lie, then the second page was a lie.... which is it?

If you get a pop-up message asking to update Firefox or plugins then such a message is likely a scam and you should never respond to such an alert to avoid getting infected with malware.
*Only update Firefox via "Help > About" or by downloading and installing Firefox from the Mozilla server and never via a pop-up or link on a web page.
*Plugins should only be updated via the plugin itself or by visiting the home page of the plugin.

  • Mail opens new window and freezes

Has anyone ever had a problem where the message you have selected in the main mail window (list of messages at the top and full message displayed at the bottom) just all by itself opens in a new window then the new window freezes up and you can't close it, or the main window. If I quit mail and restart the program the second window also opens and again I can't close it. Restarting the computer seems to fix the problem for the time being.

This also just started happening on our iBook G4 running 10.4.7, fully updated. A new, blank email pops up after sending any mail and also at initial login. One odd thing is that the email is black, whereas the default for a new email has a signature on it, and Mail asks if you want to save the spontaneous mail when you go to close it, which it doesn't do usually.
To answer the previous enquiry before it's asked of me, the Mac has a bluetooth Apple mouse (one button), but the problem still occurs when using the trackpad.
It's a pain. I'm fairly tech but I can't work it out. Permissions have been repaired.

  • I want e-mails from web pages to go from a live.co.uk address instead of my Orange address - how do I set this up?

I'm running Firefox 3.6.13 and Outlook 2010 in Win 7 Home Premium on a Samsung netbook.
When a web-site says 'contact us' and opens an e-mail form in Outlook it selects my Orange address and POP3 connection - which doesn't work!
I'd like it to select my 'live' address (which I access by IMAP in Outlook).
Where can I set that preference?
