  • Adobe reader 9.4.0 requires Internet Explorer 6.0 or greater

    Hello,
I have a user who has reported Adobe Reader was not installed on his PC, which we complete via GPO as default for all our computers, and has never been an issue (WinXP and Win7 (x64) ).  When attempting to install the reader manually, I received "Adobe reader 9.4.0 requires Internet Explorer 6.0 or greater"  This is a Win7 box.  It comes with IE 8!  Can anyone point me to the registry path the installer is looking for to determine the version of IE?  I've checked HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer and verified both "Version" and "W2kVersion" read 8.0.7601.17514.
I realize Reader X is available.  We're not ready to deploy it yet.  So any suggestion other than simply "install Reader X"  is greatly appreciated!
    Thanks for your time.

I know I'm considerably late to the reply here, but I had the same issue with a Reader X install done via GPO.  This may be relavent info for the future, and may work for Reader 9 as well
I read that someone had tried running the command line uninstall for an older version of reader, as it seemed to have not been removed completely.  I threw together a batch file to attempt to remove all the reader installs we had available along with the font packs.  Some of the font packs won't remove unless reader is present, so it re-installs the latest reader, removes the font packs again (to get whatever it missed) then reloads the font packs.
So far this approach is 1 for 1.  Hopefully it helps out if you still need it.
rem For ease of use, run this from an elevated command prompt
rem Try to remove all adobe reader related items
    msiexec /x "\\deployment\adobe reader\font packs 10\adberdrsd1000_all.msi" /passive
    msiexec /x "\\deployment\adobe reader\font packs 10\fontpack1000_ja_jp.msi" /passive

rem Install most recent version of adobe reader
rem This must be updated manually to reflect the new version.
    msiexec /i "\\deployment\adobe reader\10.1.1\acroread.msi" /passive
rem Try to remove font packs again because some of them fail if reader isn't installed
    msiexec /x "\\deployment\adobe reader\font packs 10\adberdrsd1000_all.msi" /passive
    msiexec /x "\\deployment\adobe reader\font packs 10\fontpack1000_ja_jp.msi" /passive

    msiexec /x "\\deployment\adobe reader\font packs 10\fontpack1000_zh_tw.msi" /passive
rem Reinstall all the font packs

my mac is currently running on version 10.6.8,and when i try to upgrade to mountain it just says waiting but no download.what should i do?

Go to the Purchases tab in App Store and click on the Mountain Lion download. See if there is a Resume option.
There also might be an icon in the Dock where you can try the same.
I can't remember from Snow Leopard what it shows when you are downloading.

  • When I download Adobe Reader it takes over my Internet Explorer Browser and other browsers.

When I download Adobe Reader on my Windows 7, it takes over my Microsoft Internet Explorer Browser and any browser I use.  Is there anyway to correct this problem without re-installing Windows 7 on my computer?

Not exactly sure what is going on, but perhaps https://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/application-file-icons-change-acrobat.html ?

  • Is there a known compatibilty issue with Adobe Reader 9.2.0 and Internet Explorer 11?

My internet explorer was updated to version 11 and since I cannot open PDFs in the browser.  I have tried various solutions, making sure the Axtive X filter was turned off and that the "Display PDF in browser" box is checked in both Adobe Reader and Acrobat Pro Ver. 9.5.5.  I don't think Acrobat 9 is supported any longer, but I'm not sure if this is a contributing factor.  I work in an office and seem to be the only person having this issue.  Others that have Internet Explorer 11 have Adobe version XI and those that have Internet Explorer 10 have Adobe version 9.   Now that I have IE 11 do I need to upgrade Abobe to version X or XI?

  • When In go to download it stops and tell me to close Internet explorer when it not even open.

when i try download flash player in tells me to close interner explorer even when it is not open

You need to close all iexplore.exe instances, even if they are running in the background.  Use the Task Manager's Processes tab.

  • HT1420 When I want to update my apps I'll get this massage:error 1009 what is this?

And how can I deuthrize my other iPhone?

Just used her MacBook to unlock my iPhone as I was away from home. So she backuped my phone and restored it to allow the unlock to work. That's all.
I'm still not clear about what you mean about unlocking your phone. Normally, "unlocking" means entering the password if the phone is locked, which you should be able to do from the phone itself. If you want more help with this, you really need to take the time to furnish all the relevant details.
I have a MacBook Pro, and yes when I connect my iPhone on it it shows up in the devices list.
When you do that & click on the iPhone in the list, then click on the "Apps" tab at the top, do you see the apps you can't update listed there? If you click on the "Store" menu item does it show near the bottom that you are logged in with your own Apple ID?
As wjosten said, it sounds like one way or another, the apps you cannot update were obtained using your friend's Apple ID. You need to delete them from your phone & try buying them again. If they were in fact paid for with your own Apple ID you won't have to pay again; otherwise you will.

  • Adobe reader Form PDF renderered in Internet Explorer not being read by JAWS

    Hello,
I'm checking the accessibility of my web application in case of XFA forms generated from Lifecycle Server ES. The standalone version of the PDF forms gets easily read by JAWS but when the same PDF is embedded in a web application JAWS does not read at at all. A sample which is not being in a web application is

    Thanks,
    Aditi B

If you want to open the PDF in the browser you have to explicitely set the content type to "application/pdf", if you use "application/octet-stream" you'll always get the download box and when you choose to open from this box the reader will be used because the reader is configured to open PDF documents in the windows filetypes settings.
