When I went to the apple store a worker said I could merge two apple ID's. How can I do this?

My sister was the first person to get an apple product before anyone else so she created her own Apple ID. Then other members in my family including myself, received apple products and made a family Apple ID for all of us to use. My sister now uses the family account so she has forgotten her old password, but most song purchases were made on her old account so they are not authorized for other computers and obviously she doesn't know her password to authorize them and no longer has access to the email she used. Can we please merge her old account to our family one so that it is all under one ID?

I was thinking that you may need to reset the iPod Nano, outlined here How to reset iPod http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1320.
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and Volume Down button simultaneously for at least eight seconds or until the Apple logo appears. You may need to repeat this step.
If the above step did not work, try connecting iPod to a power adapter and plug the power adapter into an electrical outlet, or connect iPod to your computer. Make sure the computer is turned on and isn't set to go to sleep. Try resetting the iPod while it is connected to power.
If that doesn't quite get the iPod going again, then it will need to be restored. Use this article to help with that Restoring iPod to factory settings http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1339.

I don't know how you received an upgrade for iTunes. You make it sound like it was sent to you. At most your computer will tell you of a new version and you tell it to download it and install it. However, a computer will not do this for a version which is incompatible. iTunes 10.7 came out a few weeks ago but your computer would not notify you and even if it did, 10.7 would refuse to install on your computer. So this part isn't making a lot of sense.
Two ways to get the 'newer version' message. One is to open your library on a computer running a newer version, and then try to open it with an older version. Usually happens when the library is on an external and used with multiple computers. The second way is if you have multiple versions of itunes installed on your computer.
The newest (and likely the last) iTunes for OSX 10.5.8 is iTunes 10.6.3 which has been out for quite a while.

We just wanted to make sure that you did realize that you cannot delete the preinstalled apps and you can't download them again either, so if that was the basis on which you believed that you had a demo model, we were just double checking.

Try a Safe Boot by Restarting and holding down the Shift key between the startup tone and the Apple logo w/pinwheel. It will take longer to boot up in Safe mode. If successful, go to System Preferences > Startup Disk > select your OSx disk and restart.

What have you tried so far in terms of troubleshooting? Have you tried resetting the iPod by pressing and holding both the Select/Center and Menu buttons together long enough for the Apple logo to appear?

You can check the Visited Links color: Tools > Options > Content : Fonts & Colors: Colors
Make sure that the History is enabled: Tools > Options > Privacy > History: Remember my browsing history
Make sure that you do not run Firefox in Private Browsing mode, see [[Private Browsing]])

You may have accidentally put it in a folder instead of deleting it. Check all your folders to see if it is in one.

Try quitting the app out of your multitasking bar, and then resetting (hold power an home buttons til device shuts off and comes back on).
