When importing from a certain Atmos Ninja Camera, I get a "unsupported or damaged file" message and can't import. Help?

These files are MOV format from a Apple Pro-rez 422. I have a pc. Any ideas on how to fix this? The files work fine in Quicktime.

What you might try is deactivating Premiere Pro, then reactivating it: Features and Sequence Presets missing | Adobe Premiere Pro CS6, CC, CC 2014
If that does not help, try moving the .mov files to a new folder and then import.
Also, always import files via the Media Browser, not File > Import

Although we are continents apart - Australia (Perth) vs North America (US), we will not let time zones interfere with getting your Premiere Elements 8.0/8.0.1 working.
1. The usual Premiere Elements 8 drill.
a. Are the automatic features of Background Rendering and AutoAnalzyer turned Off?
For Background Rendering, see Premiere Elements workspace Edit Menu/Preferences/General. For AutoAnalzyer, see Elements Organizer workspace Edit Menu/Preferences/AutoAnalyzer Options.
b. Are you running the program from the 8.0.1 Update? If not, see Help Menu/Update?
c. Do you have the latest version of QuickTime installed on your computer with Premiere Elements 8.0/8.0.1?

2. The usual computer drill....for your Windows XP 32 bit (SP3, I presume)
a. Is computer opitimized, defragmented, etc.

b. Are you running your computer from a User Account with Administrative Privileges? That is important for Premiere Elements 8 as well as for its
required QuickTime. In addition, right click the computer desktop icon for Premiere Elements 8 and select and apply Run As Administrator.
3. Project Specifics
For now, import your source media into the project from the computer hard drive using the project's Get Media/Files and Folders. Leave the Elements Organizer and Albums out of the equation for now. We will circle back to it soon after we decide everything else is working as it should be.
a. You need to set a project preset. And, that project preset should match the properties of your source media. So important to know properties of source media.
b. When you import your source media into a project you will get a red line over its content if the project preset is not a match - either because you set the wrong one or the program does not have a match for your particular video. That red line means that you are not seeing the best possible preview of what is being played back in the Edit area monitor. To get the best possible preview, you hit the Enter key of the computer main keyboard to get a rendered Timeline (red line goes from red to green after this type of rendering). That green line over your rendered Timeline indicates that you are now getting the best possible preview. This is solely a preview thing. Longer story, but I will leave it at that for now.
c. Check Edit Menu/Preferences/Scratch Disks to assure that those Scratch Disks are being saved to a computer hard drive location with enough free space to accept them. Make sure that you do not have pile ups of previews files, conformed audio files, and conformed video files.

Never move, delete, or rename source files after they have been imported into a project which has been saved/closed. Otherwise, nasty media disconnect problems. You have only copies of media in Premiere Elements. The originals are on the hard drive, and the project must trace back to the originals where they were at import.
Based on the above, try to start a new project. But, let me know ahead of time what you will be importing into the project. I am looking for
Video
video compression
audio compression
frame size
frame rate
interlaced or progressive
pixel aspect ratio
If you do not know, we could try to get that type of information from knowing the brand/model/settings for the camera that recorded the video.
Photos
Pixel dimensions and how many photos?
Lots and lots of details, but eventually they all mellow into one workflow that you can customize for your projects.
Please do not hesitate to ask questions or to ask for clarification. We can go at whatever pace you feel comfortable with.

How to i get past the settings screen when trying to view my photostream? I just get stuck on the iCloudPhotos Settings page and can to any further. Really annoying and i guess there is a simple answer to it? Can anyone tell me?

I can't view my photos on my TV using AppleTV. This is because when I get to the iCloud Photo Settings page and turn on My Photo Stream,there seems nowhere else to go to look at my photos. I guess there is a simple answer! Can anyone help.....please

In terms of your PowerBook G4, apparently your Hard Disk Drive has failed completely and I am not sure what else it wrong.
First, try this:
• Shut down the computer.
• Locate the following keys: Command, Option, P, and R. You will need to hold these keys down simultaneously later.
• Turn on the computer.
• Press and hold the Command + Option + P + R keys immediately after the startup chime.
• Hold keys down until you hear the startup chime for the third time.
• Release the keys and immediately hold down Shift key to start up in Safe Mode.
• Log in and empty Trash.
• Restart normally and log in.
If that does not work try Repair Disk
Insert Installer disk and Restart, holding down the "C" key until grey Apple appears.
Go to Installer menu (Panther and earlier) or Utilities menu (Tiger) and launch Disk Utility.
Select your HDD (manufacturer ID) in the left panel.
Select First Aid in the Main panel.
(Check S.M.A.R.T Status of HDD at the bottom of right panel, and report if it says anything but Verified)
Click Repair Disk on the bottom right.
If DU reports disk does not need repairs quit DU and restart.
If DU reports errors Repair again and again until DU reports disk is repaired.
If DU reports errors it cannot repair you will need to use a utility like Tech Tool Pro or Disk Warrior
If still no dice, try the procedure outlined in the article Resolve startup issues and perform disk maintenance with Disk Utility and fsck.

The D3300 requires DNG converter 8.4 or newer. That version of the DNG converter requires Windows 7 or newer. Lightroom isn't an option because it requires Windows 7 or newer. It looks like it's time for new computer.

First launch Image Capture, located in the Applications folder, and see if you can upload the phiotos to a folder on the Desktop. If you can then import the folder into iPhoto.
Then reformat the memory card using the camera's format option, take a few test photos and try importing into iPhoto again.

I have problems importing from my Panasonic SDR-S7 camera.
I have imported   files to the computer but gets wrong picture size when importing to Premiere Elements12.
File names are .MOD   ( and .MOI) .
It seems to be same files as MPEG but differs in two figures    : size 704x576 and pixel 1,0909.   Anyone who can help me???

Please conclude your discussion with SG before proceeding with the following if your problem remains unresolved.
I am posting because I do not believe that the core of the problem has been addressed.
Please review and consider my take on what I believe your Premiere Elements issue to be. If I am correct, fix described
below should resolve your situation. If I am wrong, then please file this post away for this case.
Your camera Panasonic SDR-S7 records MPEG2 with a .mod file extension. Apparently it allows you to set for .mod standard 4:3 or 16:9 ( supposedly with a 16:9 flag to stretch the video for display after encoding). The .mod widescreen has long been a problem for Premiere Elements and getting the wanted 16:9 aspect ratio look. It is a debate
a. Premiere Elements cannot recognize the 16:9 flag
or
b. The 16:9 flag was not there in the first place.
Are you setting your Panasonic to record MPEG2.mod widescreen?
If so, please read on.
So, if your camera recorded MPEG2.mod widescreen, then
a. Open to new Premiere Elements 12 project/Expert workspace
b. Go to File Menu/New/Project and Change Settings
c. In the Change Settings dialog, change the project preset to PAL DV Widescreen.
d. Before leaving that area, in the new project dialog, make sure that you have a check mark
next to "Force Selected Project Setting on This Project".
e. When you are back in the Expert workspace, then Add Media/Files and Folders/Project Assets to
import your MPEG2.mod widescreen. Do not drag the file to the Timeline yet.
f. Right click the file's thumbnail in Project Assets, select Interpret Footage.
g. In the Interpret Footage Pixel Aspect Ratio section, dot the Conform to: and change that field
to "D1/DV PAL Widescreen 16:9 (1.4587). Click OK.
h. Drag you file from Project Assets to the Timeline.
i. When back in the Expert workspace, if any traces of black borders remain in the Edit area
monitor, click on the screen, and use the handles of the image's bounding box to scale out the black traces.

As a Test:
Hold down the option (or alt) key and launch iPhoto. From the resulting menu select 'Create Library'
Import a few pics into this new, blank library. Is the Problem repeated there?

When you have kernel panics, the pertinent information is in the panic report.
These instructions must be carried out as an administrator. If you have only one user account, you are the administrator.
Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad and start typing the name.
In the Console window, select

Lightroom doesn't use the Camera Raw plug-in. So downloading the latest Camera Raw didn't do anything at all for you. The only way to update or upgrade Lightroom is to obtain the latest version. If you have Lightroom 4 then the last version of Lightroom you can have at no additional cost is Lightroom 4.4.1. If the camera you are using requires anything newer than what is supported and that version of Lightroom then it will require an upgrade to Lightroom 5.

I exported (with current settings) from Motion 5 now i can't view my movie with QT Player an FCP
won't recognize it.

Actually, I did notice the thread age. However, this phenomenon only appeared with mu phone in the last week.
You and I both would hope that it was corrected long ago, but that is evidently not the case.

No, iCloud doesn't sync music between devices. To get your music on your iPad, sync it with iTunes.
