When installing Acrobat Pro 11 on Windows 7 32 bit, it takes you through all the way to install, then it just hangs and won't install.

Please check and ensure that you should not have any prior version of Acrobat already installed on your computer.
Do you get any specific error message?
You might try installing Acrobat from a different browser.

i am on windows 7 and after i download and install acrobat pro, it gives me an error message when I launch which says: adobe acrobat has stopped working. I've downloaded and reinstalled three times and can't seem to get it to work.

You have two PDF "reader" plugins installed. Try disabling one of them. Tools > Addons > Plugins

My MacBook Pro won't start up. It displays a Question Mark for a while, and you can hear the HDD spinning, as well as some clicks, but nothing happens. It started after I accepted and began a recommended upgrade download and install. I started the upgrade install, rebooted, and walked away. An hour later, it displayed the progress bar as about 50% complete for the install. 24 hrs later, it was still at the same status. It means that it cannot find certain startup files. In your case it's probably because you interrupted the installation or the installation failed and files were corrupted or lost. Do the following:
Reinstalling Lion/Mountain Lion Without Erasing the Drive
Boot to the Recovery HD: Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND and R keys until the menu screen appears. Alternatively, restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions: Upon startup select Disk Utility from the main menu. Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions as follows.
When the recovery menu appears select Disk Utility. After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list. In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive. If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit DU and return to the main menu.
Reinstall Lion/Mountain Lion: Select Reinstall Lion/Mountain Lion and click on the Continue button.
Note: You will need an active Internet connection. I suggest using Ethernet if possible because it is three times faster than wireless.

I bought Acrobat Pro 9 off the Internet, but my PC won't install it from the CD. I have the serial number. Can I download a copy from Adobe support even though I bought it elsewhere?

Adobe.com currently offers the download of the latest version of Acrobat X Pro i.e. X (10). Hence, you will not be able to use the serial number once you download it from Adobe.com.
Are you receiving any error message when you try to install the software from the disc?
I would recommend contacting the merchant you bought the product from online in case the disc is not readable or damaged.

I have done just that - I ran the cleaner and removed Acrobat entirely. Did a fresh install. Everything looked fine, was able to enter my serial number successfully, and got a successful install message. Yet when I try to open the program, it will bring up a box briefly which then disappears and the program does not launch. Subsequent attempts do not even bring up the box. No program running in task manager. This is version 11.0.07, running on Windows 7, 64 bit. I don't know if it makes a difference, but this was obtained through TechSoup.org.

.pdf Thumbnails disappear when installing Acrobat Pro 9

Since i have installed Acrobat Pro 9 the .pdf Thumbnails in Windows Explorer won't show up when i choose the the normal Adobe Reader 9 for standard opening .pdf Files (which i do because its faster). I'm using Win7 32bit are there any suggestions ? this is really a bad bug in my mind.

You can try this. Not sure if this will definitly help but I hope this should:
Delete the following preferences folders:
      a) ~/Library/Application Support/Adobe/
      b) ~/Library/Caches/Acrobat/
      c) ~/Library/Caches/Acrobat/
      d) ~/Library/Preferences/Acrobat Distiller Prefs
      e) ~/Library/Preferences/Adobe/
Here ~ represents your home directory. Empty your trash, Restart the machine and then start the Acrobat.

It would be helpful to know what version of Acrobat, WORD, and operating system.
Without that info, I would suggest at this point to open your WORD file and then go to the print menu and print to file using the Adobe PDF printer. Open the created file in Distiller and see if you get a PDF. If so, check to see if AcroTray is running in the background.
You say you tried many ways. It would help to know what you tried and what worked or did not work, and at what point the failure occurs.

What is the version of Acrobat you are trying to install?

Are you getting any error message?
Response: I am not allowed to install.
Acrobat can be installed in 64 bits machine.
Response: every attempt in the 64-bit computer I rejected all attempts.

when installing acrobat pro it cannot install since a version (i am assuming trial) already exists in destination folder

Hi Juulie,
If the trial version already exists then you need not reinstall the software.
Simply enter the purchased serial key in the trial version of the software to convert it into full version.
If you have already removed the trial version and it still shows this error, then try running the Acrobat Cleaner tool ( Download Adobe Reader and Acrobat Cleaner Tool - Adobe Labs ) to remove it completely and then reinstall.

Please try the following:
The path listed below points to the Library folder at the root of your startup disk, not the Library folder in your user home folder.
Delete all the files from following folders:
/Library/Application Support/Adobe/SL Store/
/Library/Application Support/Adobe/SL cache/
And, delete all files from following folder except cache.db
/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Adobe PCD/
Then launch Acrobat, Accept EULA and enter the serial number again and check.

I consider myself to be an accomplished computer user but OMG this is
taking me on such a massive learning curve right now... My brain is about
to explode with all this new found knowledge !!!
There is so much to learn, discover, remember and try out I just don't know
where to start
Getting this subscription made me realise how disorganised my filing system
was, hence why I spent some time sorting it out and accidentally deleted
the acrobat pro files in error (noob mistake I know)
