When installing i tunes this pops up

The Installer has insufficient privileges to modify this file: C:\Program Files\Common Files\Apple\Apple Application
Support\Web Kit.resources\zh_TW.lproj\Localizable.string

That one's consistent with disk/file damage. The first thing I'd try with that is running a disk check (chkdsk) over your C drive.
XP instructions in the following document: How to perform disk error checking in Windows XP
Vista instructions in the following document: Check your hard disk for errors
Windows 7 instructions in the following document: How to use CHKDSK (Check Disk)
Select both Automatically fix file system errors and Scan for and attempt recovery of bad sectors, or use chkdsk /r (depending on which way you decide to go about doing this). You'll almost certainly have to schedule the chkdsk to run on startup. The scan should take quite a while ... if it quits after a few minutes or seconds, something's interfering with the scan.
Does the chkdsk find/repair any damage? If so, can you get an install to go through properly afterwards?

  • I installed I-tunes this morning, it says I can't burn CD

I installed I- tunes this morning, bought and downloaded an album of music and when I finally worked out how to burn a CD (after more than 2 hours going through pages of information that don't compare with what comes up on screen) it tells me I can't burn because something is missing.
Windows Medie Player burns OK, so why won't this? Apple downloaded it so it should all be there.
This is the most complicated system I have ever used.

I did that and it did work
Why "improve" something that works fine??
    thanks for your help

  • TS3212 How do I fix "error 7" when installing I tunes?

How do I fix "error 7" when installing I tunes?

Take a look at iTunes for Windows: "Error 7" message when opening iTunes. Perhaps your .NET Framework needs a repair.
For general advice see Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.
The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down the page in case one of them applies.
Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there is backup and recovery advice elsewhere in the user tip.

  • Error: 1392  When installing i-Tunes 7

    Help!
My son has just purchased an iPod. Went to install iTunes and when the installation was "creating folders" I received the following error message:
"Could not set file security for file 'C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Apple Computer\iTunes\SCInfo\'. Error:1392. Verify that you have sufficient privileges to modify the security permissions for this file."
I have no idea what this means and when I click "OK", it reverses what it has installed so far.
    What can I do?
      Windows XP

    Well, nevermind.
I restarted my PC for the 5th time and tried installing again. This time it worked. Go figure.
    Thanks anyway.

  • Error 1606 when installing i-tunes and i-pod updater

Have searched for answers to this problem with no luck so apologies if this is a repeat. I have tried down loading latest version of I Tunes and I pod updater. Neither would install and came up with the following error - error 1606.could not access network location %userprofile%\begin menu\program\startup".
I followed the instructions on the link to the Installer Web site for this Error and edited the registry (states that all entries (as listed) should refer to the correct drive i.e C: but did not show any examples.
All but one registry key was correct. I ammended a string of keys that all had %userprofile%\ as the start.
This allowed me to install ITunes however it would not add the several thousand songs that were alreday on the computer no matter what i did. So I changed the registry back and hey presto there was 4.9 with all my songs.
However I still can not intstal ipod updater either from the disc that came with shuffle or from the download.
Can any one please help??? Either tell me what to cahnge the registry keys to or explian how this has happened anyway.
I have purchased 5 pods of one type or another for various people on three different computers. Updated all software regularly and never had this problem.
    Thanks
    Paul

Yes ...followed the link and all instructions on it but not very confident about editing registy keys. Have also checked Microsoft but all that gave was more info on Registry editing.
I have managed to by pass this problem by logging in as another user and installing software. Worked without problem but I have compared the registry entries and all seem the same!
    Very Strange.

  • Error when installing i tunes

when i try to install / upgrade itunes for my new i pod with video

"could not open key HKeyLocalMachines\Software|classes|Quicktimeplayerlib.QuicktimePlayerAoo\CLSID Verify that you have sufficient access to that key or contact your support personnel"
what does that mean and how do i solve it can anyone help me????

    hmmmmmm.
okay, let's first try working through the general advice from the following document:
Trouble installing iTunes or QuickTime software in Windows
... but if no joy there, let's try getting an itunes 7 installer log to the Apple engineers for a look.
    1. Open a command prompt window. (Start menu -> Run. Type in "cmd". Hit return.)
    2. Drag and drop iTunesSetup.exe onto the window so that the full pathname of the file is at the command line prompt.
    3. Type in a space, then the following line:
    /l*v C:\log.txt
    4. Hit return.
    5. The installer will create a log file:
    C:\log.txt
Find that file and send it as an attachment to this email address.
in the email to Roy, be sure to include the following information:
    - A link to the thread on Apple Discussions where the issue is being discussed
    - The username you are using in the thread
    - The version of iTunes you are using or trying to use
    - the version of Windows you are using (mention service packs)
    - A concise description of the issue you are seeing
    - The exact text of the error message you are seeing

  • Error message when installing Yosemite OS: this core storage operation is not allowed on a sparse logical volume group

I was updating my Macbook Air (i7, 4mb RAM, 256 gb) to Yosemite OS when the process was interrupted. After retry, my computer is showing the following message: "this core storage operation is not allowed on a sparse logical volume group". I tried to restart several times, but the problem goes on with error. It would be my computer damaged?

If you don't already have a current backup of all data, back up before proceeding. There are ways to back up a computer that isn't fully functional. Ask if you need guidance.
Start up in Recovery mode. When the OS X Utilities screen appears, select Disk Utility.
In the Disk Utility window, select the icon of the startup volume from the list on the left. It will be nested below another disk icon, usually with the same name. Click the Unlock button in the toolbar. When prompted, enter the login password of a user authorized to unlock the volume, or the alternate decryption key that was generated when you activated FileVault.
Then, from the menu bar, select
              File ▹ Turn Off Encryption
    Enter the password again.
You can then restart as usual, if the system is working. Decryption will be completed in the background. It may take several hours, and during that time performance will be reduced.
If you can't turn off encryption in Disk Utility because the menu item is grayed out, you'll have to erase the volume and then restore the data from a backup. Select the Erase tab, and then select
              Mac OS Extended (Journaled)
    from the Format menu.
You can then quit to be returned to the main Recovery screen. Follow these instructions if you back up with Time Machine. If you use other backup software, follow its developer's instructions.
Don't erase the volume unless you have at least two complete, independent backups. One is not enough to be safe.

AppleWorks is a very old application and requires Rosetta to run under recent systems.
    Lion does not include Rosetta.

Download iTunes 11 from the Apple site and reinstall. The error message was quite plain in telling you what to do to resolve the error.

Could you post your diagnostics for us please?
In iTunes, go "Help > Run Diagnostics". Uncheck the boxes other than DVD/CD tests, as per the following screenshot:
    ... and click "Next".
When you get through to the final screen:
... click the "Copy to Clipboard" button and paste the diagnostics into a reply here.

  • When installing iPhoto update, I got this pop-up -The system extension "/System/Library/Extensions/IOFireWireWDHID.kext" was installed improperly and cannot be used. Please try reinstalling it, or contact the product's vendor for an update.  What does it

When installing iPhoto 9.2.1 software update, I got this pop up.
"The system extension “/System/Library/Extensions/IOFireWireWDHID.kext” was installed improperly and cannot be used. Please try reinstalling it, or contact the product’s vendor for an update."
Is this a minor matter that can be ignored?  Any suggestions on what I should do?

The faster (and way more recommended) way to do this is to run a permissions repair from disk utility.
Open Applications -> Utilities -> Disk Utility -> Click on Macintosh HD -> then in the right pane there is a "Repair Disk Permissions" button click on this. It should repair all permissions to their proper settings.
Another option is to manually repair them on this kext only. This involves opening Terminal and running the following commands.
    sudo chown -R 0:0 /System/Library/Extensions/IOFireWireWDHID.kext
    sudo chmod -R 755 /System/Library/Extensions/IOFireWireWDHID.kext
Otherwise if you don't have any firewire devices it doesn't really matter.

YasmineH your web browser is blocking the installation of the AAM Detect plug-in.  I would recommend using a different web browser or installing through the Creative Cloud Desktop application.  You can find additional details on how to install the Adobe Creative applications included with your membership at Install and update apps - https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/help/install-apps.html.
