I have an IPod Touch 4th Generation and i forgot my passcode and i disabled it so many times it says Connect to Itunes but i do not know how to unlock it from my itunes account

Connect the iPod to your computer and restore via iTunes on the computer. You may have to place the iPod in recovery mode to allow a restore. For recovery mode see:

For how to restore see:

  • My daughter forgot her passcode, so "iPod is disabled. Connect to iTunes." But iTunes refuses to connect without passcode. Now what?

My daughter forgot her passcode and tried too many times to remember it, so now her iPod is locked with the message "iPod is disabled. Connect to iTunes." I tried connecting it to iTunes, but iTunes says it could not connect "because it is locked with a passcode. You must enter your passcode on the iPod touch before it can be used with iTunes."
Question 1: What are we doing wrong? Why does the iPod say to connect to iTunes if it CAN'T be connected to iTunes?
Some other threads suggest that the only option is to wipe/restore it. The problem is that she has a lot of photos she would like to rescue before erasing it. The Photostream had not been enabled on her computer, so I enabled it. Shortly thereafter, six photos appeared on her computer. But she says there are many, many more and she really wants them. We have waited weeks for more photos to appear, but no more have shown up after the first six. Why not?
Question 2: Is there anything we can do to coax the iPod to finish sharing the rest of the photos in her Photostream?

  • TS3195 My Ipod is reading "Ipod is Disabled. Connect to Itunes.." So i have to restore my Ipod in order for it to work. My question is how can i retrieve all my photo's taken on my Ipod before restoring it to its manufacture state?

My son decided to play with my ipod for his amusement and starting entering multiple codes as a password. Even though i had already set the option not to lock after multiple attempts, it ended up disabling anyway. So now my Ipod reads "Ipod is Disabled, Connect to Itunes." I connected it to Itunes and all i get is another error message saying:"The Ipod is locked and can not connect to Ipod." After reading multiple articles turns up i have to restore my ipod to its manufactured state. Before i do that i want to see if anyone can help me in retrieving or transferring over all my photos that were taken on that Ipod before i can even start the Recovery/Restore process. PLEASE HELP!
Thanks in advance to all who reply :-)

There is no way to get them from a disable iPod. That is pat of the security offered by the screen-lock passcode.
    - If the photos were on the iPod when y last backed up you can resore from backup. See:
    iOS: How to back up
    - If you use PhotoStream yo may be able to get them from your stream. For how see:

  • How to retrieve password when ipod is disabled

    cant figure out
    how to disable ipod

Not very clear, do want to retrieve a pass ode for a disabled iPod or disable an iPod?
If the former you cannot retrieve a pass code.  You have to restore and remove the pass code in the process.  Start iTunes, connect the USB end of the cable then while holding the home button connect the dock connector end of the cable...the proceed to restore.

  • How do I use my ipod after disabled message-connect to itunes.

My son set up a passcode on his ipod touch and forgot it. He tried several different passcodes and got locked out.  His ipod now has the message "ipod disabled, connect to itunes".  We followed the steps for recovery on apple support, but the only thing that happens is, the itunesicon shows up and we don't know where to go from here.  The closest sple store is 2 hours away and we are tyring to avoid having to go in. Does anyone know how we can fix this?

You have to connect it to iTunes on the computer it was synced with.
Once it shows in iTunes you will be able to back it up and restore.

  • ITunes freezes when iPod touch 4G is connected + other issues.

I've seen a lot of people struggling with this problem and I'm afraid I got stuck with the same issue. I'm not sure when it started, but I noticed any time I connected my ipod touch 4G to my computer, iTunes freezes almost immediately. When I disconnect, it goes back to normal (most of the time) and displays a message that says: "An ipod touch has been detected but cannot properly be identified."
I tried reinstalling iTunes 5 times, all of which it comes up with what I suppose is an installation error. When I click ok on the error, installation continues as if nothing has happened. There's also been an update for iTunes but it won't download. (Note: my laptop runs Windows 8.1).
On the website, it says iTunes is 64-bit but when I download, it runs 32-bit. I don't know why this happens (I'm not exactly tech savvy) and I don't know why iTunes freezes. I also cannot manually restore my iPod as a lot of people suggested as my home button is stuck. I'm out of options unless someone saves me... and my need for my music. I've been through many forums and nothing worked.
    Can anyone help?
Side note: my ipod also seems to be going through USB chords like nobody's business. It's not negligence on my part, yet they always start causing my ipod to say "charging is not supported with this accessory" then completely stop working. I had one that barely lasted a day! I'm fed up with all these problems and hope someone can help.

    Thank you,
Pretty much all of the posts in that link deal with PC problems, drivers and bios stuff. Since I am running on a Mac, I don't think there is much I can do to deal with those kind of issues.
I don't seem to have any other problems with USB connections to other devices, and my iPod does work with iTunes for at least a short while after I wipe it and start over. This leads me to believe it is less of an USB issue and more something to do with software on either the iPod and iTunes. I am beginning to suspect either something with an App or using the onboard iTunes Store to download content that is somehow corrupting the iPod.
In the past, I had problems with the sync taking an inordinate amount of time to back up, which after months of research I learned that it most likely had something to do with downloading an App from the App Store on the iPod in the early days of the App Store (A problem I was never able to eliminate despite numerous restores, due to the corrupted App being re-loaded every time I used the backups. I WAS able to eliminate the problem after deleting and re-downloading all of the Apps when I nuked my iPod). My problems with not being able to sync happened shortly after I downloaded an App from the App Store (something which I refrained from doing due to fears of corruption!).
I dunno, any thoughts on this?
P.S. I am still waiting for an answer as to the fate of the content I downloaded on my Ipod. If I restore my iPod without transfering the purchases, are they ultimately lost?

  • PC restarts when iPod classic 80GB is connected

When I connect my new 80GB iPod classic to a USB 2.0 port on my pc, the pc restarts. When I connect to a USB 1 port it works ok but obviously I then have to wait longer to transfer music.
I've had iTunes installed for over 2 years with an older iPod on my pc and it worked fine in a USB 2.0. I did uninstall and reinstall iTunes (with latest updates) but it still doesn't help. While iTunes was uninstalled, I plugged the iPod into a USB 2.0 port and it didn't restart the pc. As soon as I reinstalled iTunes, the pc kept on restarting whenever I tried to use a USB 2.0 port.
Does anyone have a solution please?

There is probably a better answer in the forum somewhere.
Maybe you should uninstall your USB 2.0 port and restart Windows. Windows will see the USB as a new hardware device and load the correct drivers for it. You can uninstall it in Control Panel, System Properties, Hardware tab, Device Manager. There's also an "Apple iPod USB Driver" located in here, maybe that will work.
Side note, I also own an 80GB classic, it's hooked up to a regular USB 1.1 port and it really isn't too slow, it did take 20 or 30 mins to transfer the 3200+ songs but I didn't mind. Podcasts transfer pretty fast for me.

  • SBBoD when iPod or USB drive connected

    Hi –
I've noticed a new problem with my mac recently.
When my iPod shuffle or USB flash drive is connected, the computer hangs for a few seconds. (displaying the SBBoD when the mouse is above any application)
The behaviour is similar to what occurs when the OS tries to read or write a bad file on the boot drive, but the only thing that gets written to system.log is "kernel[0]: USBF: 2156845. 75 [0x3d6d200] (Reset) USB Generic Hub @ 2 (0x4b200000)"
The only sources I can think of for the problem are the two new USB device I got around Christmas time: an iPod shuffle and a TI-84 graphing calculator. I haven't noticed the problem in other accounts on this machine, but other users don't use USB storage devices that often so I can't be sure. My external USB hard drive mounts instantly and without any problems.
    Thanks.

I guess it fixed itself; I'm not having any problems any more.
