When is a new logfile created

Hi,
I noticed, that I have multiple Logfiles per day in the logview and I am wondering when a new logfile is created.
Is there a setting to append always to the same file? Or is there a permanent link to the most recent logfile?

Hello Dimiter,
while I am developing I redeploy the application multiple times. I have the logfile opened in a seperated tab and reloading the tab shows the old logfile. So I have to close the tab go back to the applications view in the cockpit (reload the cockpits page) and open the new logfile.
It would be easier to use if there would be a permanent link to the most recent logfile.
Appending to the same file is not mendatory but it would have the same effect (permanent link to the most recent log). If the file exceeds a maximum size and needs to be rotated, the older logs could be renamed instead of the new file.
In my opinion it is just a bit unhandy to use. Might be wrong in other context or workflow.

    When I drop or add new logfile in my 10g r2 on RHEL, I did not see any error. however when I check the alert log file, I noticed at the same time of dropping or adding the logfile, systen produced three error .trc files in the udumpa and display error message about the " Control autobackup written to DISK device handle '/dbrecovery/flashback/#####BACKUP/autobackup/2006_09_07/o1_mf_s_600514666_2j0covnl_.bkp' " and here is the content of one of trc file, which I do not understood. to me there is no important message. can anyone see something significant?

    if they list the changes after adding / dropping log files. You should be good.
    SID 191 , what is this sid about?

    It doesn't seem that the alert log is complaining about log files. It seems that it has to do something with disk backup.

  • When I assign new Item created to single org it is not shown on PO.

    One item is created and assigned to single org but not able to view on PO. While I do assign all it is seen on PO.
    Setup>Organization>finantial option>supplier purchesing>inv org --> is NOT item master but other org. Is this problem is becoz of this. Kindly help.

    When browsing a new library that I created and exported onto an external hard drive, the browser shows dotted lines around grey rectangles, no images. When I double click on a rectangle, the image appears, but all the other rectangles remain empty - no image. How do I get images to appear in the browser rectangles? I am viewing this on a second computer (an older intel duo iMac), not the one I created the library on (a MacBook Pro). Both computers have Aperture 3.2.4 installed. When I return the external to the MacBook, all images appear in browser rectangles. What's happening on the iMac?

    You may have a problem with the permissions on your external volume. Probably you are not the owner of your library on the second mac.
    If you have not already done so, set the "Ignore Ownership on this Volume" flag on your external volume. To do this, select the volume in the Finder and use the Finder command "File > Get Info" (or ⌘I).
    In the "Get Info" panel disclose the "Sharing & Permissions" brick, open the padlock, and enable the "Ignore Ownership on this Volume" flag. You will have to authentificate as administrator to do this.
    Then run the "Aperture Library First Aid Tools" on this library and repair the permissions. To launch the "First Aid Tools" hold down the ⌥⌘-key combination while you double click your Aperture Library. Select "Repair Permissions" and run the repair; then repeat with "Repair Database". Do this on the omputer where you created the library and where you can see the thumbnails.
    Then check, if you now are able to read the library properly on your iMac.

    I have got a requirement to send a notification  when ever a new entry is created in the Z-Table which contains some important information.
    I have searched in SCN and found few links in which it say to create an Event '05' and in that call FM SWE_EVENT_CREATE, but my query is  Do I need to create a new BO? 
    In the example which I found in other sites where its mentioned like
        W_OBJTYPE = 'YH355_BO'.
        W_OBJKEY  = ZCUST_INFO-CUSTNO.
        W_EVENT   = 'SENDEMAIL'.
    here OBJECTTYPE is a new BO or what.
    Kindly help me in solving my requirement as am new to Workflow concepts.

    If you want to send the mail call the function module "SO_NEW_DOCUMENT_ATT_SEND_API1"  in table maintenance event '05'.

    If you are not creating a fresh and independent VC model then no need of creating new KB. If you are just modifying the existing VC model then re-generate the same KB.
    New KB should be created when you have fresh independent VC model.

    Due to recent security issues and identify theft (mostly due to phishing scams), the iTunes Store seems to be requiring more frequent verification of credit card information when a card is registered in your account, even if you have a balance from a prepaid card. Either just go through the verification process or, if you have a credit card entered and you don't expect to need the card anytime soon, go into the Payment information in your account and set the payment method to "none" which should then stop the regular requirements for verification  (it may still ask - mine does - but you should just be able to click through the buttons without problems).

    First of all, I have to ask, why to you "need" to install a fresh copy of OSX?
    This may mean that your hard drive is failing, so hopefully you have a backup.
    I'm assuming you were in your recovery partition when you did this.
    I would, from the recovery partition, repair your hard drive and permissions.

    And then try to create the partition again.
    If that doesn't work, you have a few options:
    Try a third party utility like DiskWarrior or TechTool which may be able to repair your hard drive:
    DiskWarrior 4 - The Disk Utility for Mac Disk Repair, Mac Directory Repair, Mac Disk Recovery, Mac Data Recovery or Techtool Pro 7
    Try internet recovery, perhaps erase the entire hard drive and reinstall ML.
    If nothing else works, then I'd replace the HD and start over.

  • File Sharing Permissions Problem When NEW Files Created

    My wife & I have a home office network setup for our business, and are having trouble with shared files over the network. We're both on Macs, and all of our client files reside on an internal hard drive in my Mac Pro. I've set her up as a "Sharing Only" user on my computer (which matches the username & password of her account on her iMac), and have properly setup file sharing in both the System Preferences, and in the directory itself that we want shared. I've also applied the permissions to all files & folders below the main folder, and she can view, open and save whatever she needs and it works great.
    *Here's where the problem comes in...* If either of us create a NEW file or folder, the other person doesn't have WRITE access to it (we can browse and open it fine). The second I go to update a file she created, it won't let me over-write it, and I have to go into the permissions for that specific file and give myself Read/Write access. I've experimented with "Groups", and assigned both of us a special group, and applied that group access to that directory, but it doesn't make any difference when a NEW file or folder is created - it doesn't copy the parent directory permissions to itself, it makes one of us the owner, and nobody else has access.
    Is there any way around this? We're both constantly creating new files, and it really hampers our workflow to have to keep re-applying file permissions every time one of us creates something new. Ideally, any new files created within that main client folder would automatically have the same permissions as the parent directory. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!!

    Here's how to do this with Access Control Lists.
    1) Go to System Preferences -> Accounts. Unlock the padlock. Click the + button. Make a new group. Call this group "sharing" for the purposes of this exercise. Add the users you want to the group.
    2) Make a new empty folder in /Users/Shared. Call it "sharefolder".
    3) Log in to an admin account and paste all three of these lines at once into Terminal:
    sudo chmod +a "sharing allow delete,chown,list,search,add_file,\
    addsubdirectory,delete_child,file_inherit,directoryinherit" \
    /Users/Shared/sharefolder
    4) From now on, any files you create or copy to the sharefolder or to any of its subfolders will inherit read+write permission for all users in the group. If you have any existing files that you want to move into the sharefolder, a simple move by drag & drop won't cause the permissions to propagate. you need to hold down the option key while dragging them in. This will copy them over, ensuring that the ACL permission is properly inherited.
    One other caveat: Files created by a small number of OS X apps won't inherit the permissions properly if saved directly into the ACL folder hierarchy. TextEdit is one such app. Save TextEdit files in a temporary location first, and then copy them in. Then they will have the correct permissions.

    I have a strange one.  Query is executed in BEx analyzer.  A new formula is created outside the query results window using excel functionality, and the currency changes from USD to DM. 
    Example query results: 
    Cell A1: Var 1 = $150.00
    Cell B1: Var 2 = $160.00
    Cell C1: Var 3 = $70.00
    New formula created using excel functionality:  =sum(A1+B1) displays as 310.00 DM
    The language settings have been checked for the operating system and for SAP (user data) and they appear to be correct.  Is there another setting to be checked?

    Did you select "Sign In with an Apple ID" as opposed to "Create a free Apple ID" when setting it up?

    I have a new powerbook and want to give my girlfriend my old G4 power book, she has a new iphone 5s, and wants to create a new itunes/apple id. When i try to de authorize the G4 and sign in with her new apple ID it says bad password, how can i release the G4 from my cluster of authorized apples and make her the owner so she can download music and more importantly sync her music with her phone, she only has 3 songs on her iphone, and loaded all her CD's into the g4 but cant sync, im no dummy and this shouldnt be hard, but its driving me crazy!!!!!!

    Thanks for the great tips and support we got here. I’m really newbie on mac os x server while it’s now a long time I’m on clients ones.
    I wanted to follow topicdesk.com tutorials to update spamassassin and clamav as I saw here the initial conf by Apple isn’t working.
    Then, I saw before updating SpamAssassin that I had to update amavisd-new first. So, I begin with this tutorial. Here’s what happened (sorry for the long-long post) :
    First installed Xcode 2.4.1.
    Everything was fine until the CPAN Perl Module updates, as I always had the “make had returned bad status, install seems impossible” error. Looking for some info on the net, I then understand that you have to install everything Apple suggests as if you don’t, you’ll have later problems whith “make” command (I know, I first wanted to install only gcc that seemed necessary to me, and when nothing works as expected, I had to go back and install everything ...) In fact, the missing BSD SDK was supsected to be the missing thing, but not only. Then, just install everything and this is fine.
    Updated the whole asked Perl module without any problem, following the tutorial
    Then Reboot the server when asked ; amavisd-new new version 2.5.0 seems OK. Then, the beginning of problems...

    I first thought mails were lost, and obviously as it won’t be so easy to fix alone without any help (and time is running loosing mails), I decided to come back to the old amavisd-new version, restoring /usr/bin/amavis and amavis.conf, and rebooting computer.
    Then, another problem with Perl modules that were updated so that old amavis seemed also not working. I decided to replace /Library/Perl and System/Library/Perl with new ones from a clean fresh install on my local server. Rebooted, and seems to be OK as before. Then looked for Postfix and understood than flushing will force deferred mails to be processed.
    Anyway, all is to be done again. If anybody here as an idea of what's going wrong, I'll be glad to learn ...

    well, there you have it – a classical if then loop.
    seems i'm still stuck somewhere in the middle of the amavisd.conf nightmare. had amavisd-new 2.4.5 / spamassassin 3.1.8 up and running after a real nightmare (which had to do with daemonize=1).
    after i tried to get up-to-date with amavisd-new 2.5.1 and spamassassin 3.2.1 i saw the same problems (see below) again, while launchd tried to get amavisd started.

    remembering the previous troubles, i double checked all things, which could be set wrong (daemonize, etc.) and all was well. tried a second install and all to no success.
    later i had the idea, it might be the new amavisd.conf, which troubles (why ever) the startup. so i used the v2.4.5 one and lo and behold, it worked. but why? what is so strange/new/different in 2.5.1, that the startup of amavisd gets broken?
    now i read, that they changed a bunch of stuff and i certainly would be using the newer versions conf file, but it seems i don't get it right configured. i'm on the latest updated 10.4.9 server with all fixes installed. every service is working, mail gets in/out and gets even tagged.
    well, i didn't do the setup with the 2 users junkmail/nojunkmail yet. is it really necessary to set them up as local users? can't they be handled as every other user which has mail enabled via wgm?

    According to your post, my understanding is that you want to add a special user to the "site collection administrators" of the personal site on sharepoint online when the personal site is creating.
    Per my knowledge,
    there is no out of the box way to accomplish this with SharePoint.
    This is a forum which is supported for SharePoint On-Premise.
