When is Firefox going to have it's own translator built in?

I heard that Firefox will have its own translation feature built in sometime soon also will it use Bing or Google for translations?

Currently, there does not appear to be any plans for a translation feature. However, Bing does offer a bookmarklet that will translate webpages when you click on it. You can get their bookmarklet [http://labs.microsofttranslator.com/bookmarklet/ here.]
There does not appear to be a bookmarklet for Google at the moment, but there is an add-on available that uses Google translate. There are also many other translation add-ons available, although they may slow your Firefox down a bit. Just search for translations on their add-ons page.

  • When is Firefox going to stop hogging my system??

Firefox constantly drains my RAM and CPU memory. I have 2GB of RAM and it dares to use over 1GB of that. I have a AMD 5200 processor and it dares to use over 50% of that.
It's doing this constantly and I'm not the only one who has this problem. When is thgis going to be fixed I'm sick and tired of Firefox slowing down my entire PC. You're not faster browsing you're a system hog. I can show you numerous screenshots of my task manager showing foirefox does this.

Oh and it's not on my "Cloud".

Hi I upgraded to 14.1, Avg safe search was disabled. Skype click to call as well but I do not use that function any way, a Video to mp program, again I do not use it..
When I installed it I rebooted my computer, then ran a AVG update,
however to Firefox I do not like running with out the SAFE search, I do have other save guards, but unless Firefox is made to run with the AVG safe search I would advise any one that has important documents on that computer to go to another browser.
that is what I am going to do once I have all my toolbar contacts saved.
I have been using Firefox for many years, it seems that is to come to an end.
My other computer with windows 7 is not connected to the internet, only to connect to steam or other branded secure sites for registered programs.
AVG SAFE SEARCH has protected me until now, so I am very worried.

  • I need the Google toolbar so I reinstalled Firefox 4 but now it crashes all the time. When are you going to have a current version that's compatible with the toolbar?

When I updated to Firefox 5, I got a message that the Google toolbar was disabled as it wasn't compatible. I assume the same is true for version 6. After trying to use the browser without the toolbar for a few days I gave up and reinstalled version 4. Now I'm constantly getting pop-ups asked me to upgrade and I can't even submit feedback because you won't accept it until I upgrade. And version 4, which I never had a problem with before, is now very unstable and I have to shut it down at regular intervals to unfreeze it.
Do I need to switch to a different browser in order to use the Google toolbar?

The Google Toolbar "will not be supported on Firefox 5 and future versions." <br />

The Google Toolbar '''7.1.20110512W''' version does work pretty good in Firefox 5.0 by using the Compatibility Reporter extension. But not every feature works 100%.<br />

  • OT: When your Firefox goes to version 29...

If you use a lot of development addons in Firefox (like I do) and your FF goes and updates to version 29 (like mine did), you'll notice the Addon Bar at the bottom disappears and all of your little dev addon icons move up into the normal menu, making a big old mess out of it.
Here's the addon to fix that and bring the Addon Bar back to the bottom of your screen...
    https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/classicthemerestorer/
They really Chromed the heck out of it, but the addon above un-Chromes your Firefox.

Oh, lovely.  Thanks for the info.

  • When apple is going to have an update for mountain lion to fix the spinning wheel at start up and when a shut down my macbook pro 2011?

I bought a 2011 macbook pro after clean it up and reinstal Mountain lion, i did an update since then, whe i start up and shut down the computer gets a spinnin wheel which takes forever. I have read about this problem but i'm new at mac, and seem to be kind of complicated repair it. I'm wonder if anyone knows if apple is doing something to fix this? macbooks arent chip and i shouldnt go thru all the the time consuming to get it works how sopose to.
if some one knows anything or if there is anybody who can guide me step by step on how to fix this, i really will apreciate that.
    thank you.

    As cbs20 says...
Boot up holding command-r keys into your Recovery Volume.
The screen should give you these choices...
    Restore from TM backup
    Reinstall Mac OS X
    Get help online
    Disk Utility
First run Disk Utility Repair Disk, if you get errors run until no errors reported or reports "the disk cannot be fixed". Then, choose Reinstall OS X. This will be an install "in place" and shouldn't effect any of your own data or settings.

  • When is apple going to have touch screen iMacs and power books?

Every kind of PC has touch screen now including TVs. It's hugely disappointing that apple is not embracing this especially since they started the movement to touchscreen with the IPhone. Are there plans to begin using touchscreens if not is there a reason? Thanks for any information you might have.

kind of feel like Apple's losing its "cutting-edge, innovative, pushing new technology, user friendly options & ideas" identity with the passing of Mr. Jobs.
I feel that touch-screen functionality & TV are two areas he would have broached by now if he was still with us to champion them through. Along with, I'm certain, others only he could of come up with.

  • Please when is adobe going to have the video based tutorials captioned to the deaf users?

Increasingly the video tutorials are not captioned for the deaf users therefore they are not accessible to us deaf users. This is despite adobe's knowledge of Section 508 accessibility requirements. It is FRUSTRATING!!!

Adobe staff pay particular attention to topics that are posted via the "Ideas" method located in the left column of the main topics page

  • When is Java going to release it's own perfume?

Given the current penchant for threads demanding that Java be afforded ever-more-unlikely and unnecessary extensions, for no reason other than somebody thought of it whilst on the toilet, and the other current trend for one to be a total nobody (apparently) until one has ones own brand of perfume, I'd like to know when Eau de Gosling or whatever will be released. Dukes for the funniest response. Maybe

  • Processor locks up when using Firefox, help!

I am still new to the Mac world and need some help.
    I have a 2009 Macbook, with Mac OS X, 10.6.8, Processor is 2.26 and memory is 4gb.
I've noticed lately that when using Firefox I seem to have lock up issues and I can't click anything. The rainbow processor thing just keeps running and running. Often times I cannot even click the Apple icon in the tool bar in order to get to force quit. (I don't know what buttons to push for force quit)
The only way to solve the problem is to hard boot the computer and I know that is not a good thing to do. What is going on with the processor as to why it gives me hang ups when using Firefox? I have about 5-6 windows open and each has about 7-8 tabs open.
Should I upgrade to Mountain Lion? Will that help? Again, any advice or assistance you can provide will be greatly appreciated, keep in mind I am not a techie kind of person, so simple terms will be best.
    Thanks Apple community.

Ever since I downloaded v12, my computer has been locking up at least twice a DAY. I have uninstalled and reinstalled everything, including Firefox itself, as well as Adobe, and all the plug-ins associated with the application. I've run Spybot, C-Cleaner, and my anti-virus to confirm that there's nothing else wrong with the computer outside Firefox. If the computer is rebooted and Firefox is not opened, the system is fine. But once Firefox has been opened - even if it survives the session and I close Firefox - the computer is about 75% likely to lock up, requiring a hard reboot. I'm running Vista Home edition (32 bit). If anyone has a clue what might help stop this - because I'm quite sure that it's not healthy for my computer to be hard rebooted twice (or more) a day - I'd love to hear it! It's getting waaaay more than annoying, enough so that I'm ready to move to another browser to stop the problem.

  • My iMac freezes when using Firefox

My iMac freezes when using Firefox. We have to restart our computer.

TutorDaddy, if this Mac is still covered by the initial warranty or under AppleCare, take it in and have it looked at. As the old label used to say, there truly are "no user serviceable parts inside." Kernel panics very usually indicate failing hardware.
I have an older iBook G4 that started developing kernel panics and like you, despite reinstalling the OS from a freshly formatted volume, they kept continuing. I looked at the crash log and saw that in each instance of panic, the last bit of code to be accessed had something to do with AirPort. Knowing that the AirPort software was at then current levels, I surmised the problem to be a bad AirPort networking card which, on that particular model of the iBook, was a very small module attached directly to the logic board. Since the computer was out of AppleCare, I broke the machine down myself (I didn't realize that there could be so many barely visible screws in one machine) and removed the offending piece of hardware. My iBook lives but without WiFi, it now sits as a more or less desktop machine needing an ethernet connection to stay connected to a network.
I do not suggest you break into your iMac. First of all, I'm guessing one would need to be able to pull off the glass and have the necessary glue to reattach it, which is not really available to us consumers. If you're feeling adventurous enough to read the crash logs from each panic, you might be able to surmise the hardware component (or badly written application or library; it can happen) that's causing the panic. If it's a software issue, remove the offending software app and see if the panics return. If it's a hardware issue, it's best to let a competent service tech qualified on Apple hardware to handle it.

After browsing through related problems in the discussions, I saw this link to a third-party web site being handed out. Perhaps you'll find it useful: http://www.thexlab.com/faqs/kernelpanics.html
