When is iTunes going to be avalible for Linux?

Hi. I wanted to know if iTunes is or will be supported on Linux. iTunes not being available on Linux is the only reason why I haven't switched. If you need to know specifically what Linux OS I want iTunes to be supported on it is Ubuntu.

Apple have made no announcements that I am aware of, and as fellow users nobody here knows about their plans. However it might be worth considering that the past might be some indication of the future. As long as Linux is a minority operating system it is unlikely to get its own native version of iTunes.

correct. And once ios5 is on a device it can be synced via wifi to both itunes and the icloud. Softwareupdates over the air. You only need that cable to charge the battery . That makes our devices real independant .

When is iTunes going to be capable of such a basic feature as proper Crossfading??
Yes, there has been various media players for windows for a long time now that are superior to iTunes in many ways, and i guess it is about time that iTunes has those basic features it should have as other simple media players
- The Crossfade feature for iTunes works only if you let the song play until the very end, that is actually very silly, because the Crossfade feature is there so you can skip a songs smoothly into another song, meaning at any time you want to skip songs you can do it crossfading into the next song.
now this does not work in iTunes. or while playing a song you can just double click another song and there is an immediate and smooth crossfade into the selected song. (like in other media players)
Also it would be very good and important if you can Crossfade within the very same song that is being played, eg: a song that is very long and during the party you want to listen the first minute and then the last 5th minute of it, you can skip it sliding the dot positioning of the player that is moving forward to the right showing you where within the length of the song you are, what other players in Windows can do is do an immediate crossfade of around 5 sec (it can be customised) so you can also smoothly forward within the same song. I am really surprise that until now iTunes is not capable of doing this useful features, there are some more, but these are those i am concern about.
Hope you are capable of making this important features available in iTunes so it can get to be a real great music player.

When is itunes going to be fixed???

I see from here that alot of us are having problems downloading itunes at the moment, including me! I kep getting an error sying no digital signature and unknown publisher. I have been trying for well over a week to download it but no luck. anyone know when it will be fixed??

ITunes goes on PAUSE erratically for no reason, have to hit space bar

I have a problem with either iTunes or my keyboard!
When playing music, sometimes the music will stop (iTunes goes on pause)
and I have to hit the space bar to continue, very annoying.
Is this a known issue with iTunes 8.1.1 ?

I though it might be my Bose sound system on the floor causing vibrations, but my keyboarrd is on a table and the last time it stopped will playing classical piano, not a lot of bass there.

Try moving your computer or your sound system to see if that helps.
If no joy, then as your computer is so new, contact your Apple Store as it will still be under warranty.

When is Gumbo going to be available for Beta?

I have been monitoring this site for the last 5 months waiting patiently for Gumbo to try it out. I now have the Adobe CS4 package and would like to try doing some of the things that Lee Brimelow has been showing in his tutorials with Flex and Flash. Is Gumbo going to be available for beta or are you just going to by pass that stage and only offer it for sale? I am sure that I am not alone in the fact patience starting to dwindle.

When is iTunes going to open its doors to INDEPENDENT MOVIE PRODUCERS???

Indie music labels can sign up and put music for sale on iTunes... Why can't Indie movie and television producers???
Allowing independent producers to sell their products through iTunes would DRAMATICALLY INCREASE the amount of material for iPods and the Apple TV device and cover audience niches not currently supported by the majors.
Is apple worried about a flood of *********** on its most exciting consumer brand? SO WHAT??? Create a channel for it - allow for protection controls, etc... etc... I'm certain this is NOT beyond Apple's capabilitles...
Prohibiting indie video producers - (limiting them to FREE DISTRIBUTION via podcasts) goes against Apple's "More is Better" approach to media over recent years.
Heads up, Apple! You've done it with MUSIC... do it with VIDEO.

I am using an IOS7 iPhone the problem is that whenever I gave my phone to friends they try to access to my private data like Facebook , Whatsapp , Viber , Contacts and even much more stuff which I don't want them to go through.All I want is an app that help me to lock/protect individual apps with a Passcode in order to have privacy.I have gone through so much discussions all leading to just one result "you can't do so".Please help me that is apple going to give out any feature if when and is apple going to allow any same kind of app on Apple store.

When syncing itunes goes through the process of syncing cal,mail,etc. but when gets to determining tracks to sync it freezes

While syncing iTunes will go through the process with no problems but when it reaches the phase that is determining tracks to sync it freezes up.

Direct X makes use of OpenGL.
OpenGL for X11 on the mac is still broken. (the way wine uses OpenGL)

Any chance of Oracle providing support for PVCS ? It seems rather odd to me that you provide an add-in for it in Forms & Reports but not in Jdev.

We're investigating some possible solutions to bring PVCS support into JDeveloper, but I'm afraid this definitely won't be in the next release (9.0.3) which has been feature-frozen for some time now. In the meantime, you can use the SCM Extension API to write an extension for any source control system, or use the ToolManager extension downloadable from OTN to plug menu items in to the IDE to invoke SCM command line operations.
Forms and Reports are written in C++ and have a completely different architecture to JDeveloper, so it's not possible to utilize the support in those existing products for PVCS within JDeveloper.
