When is nokia map database will be updated?

some place in my country exist for a long time more then 5 years but yet in the nokia map doesnt seems to appear. fully blank at that part. i need go to there but there is no map for me. anyone know when nokia maps database will gonna update for malaysia?

Nokia Maps lost after firmware update

I had Nokia Maps installed on my N73 some time ago, it worked without problems. Now when I updated the phone software to v4.735.3.0.2 it is included in the base software. But the new version (1.2) does not show any map data - only a blank screen (and the globe).
I use only the free parts - no network, no GPS, no guides. The maps I downloaded with Map Loader. It has a new version too, so I installed it, deleted the old maps and re-downloaded some of them. But they still do not show onscreen.
There is also a downloadable version of Nokia Maps 1.2, but it cannot install on the phone - some error appears. Neither can I uninstall the version on the phone - it says "Cannot delete file".
What is the problem? Is it that the phone language is Bulgarian, while the maps are in English (there are no maps in Bulgarian)? It was not a problem before, and the UI still appears in Buglarian.
Or, maybe there are some trays of the older version which I can delete manually. In fact, it was first installed in phone memory (so were the maps). Then, I moved the maps to the memory card, and after a previous phone software update, I installed the application on the memory card too.
Please help me find the maps. Thanks!

I managed to view the maps somehow:
1. Connect the USB in card reader mode
2. Download the maps using MapLoader
3. While the memory card is connected, copy and paste the \private\20001f63\diskcache folder to \cities\diskcache in Windows Explorer
4. Disconnect only from the tray icon on the desktop
5. The maps are now visible.
This is obviously not a perfect solution. The maps use double space on the memory card. The network cannot be used to update them, only Map Loader. After any download the steps above must be reapplied.
The application cannot be uninstalled/reinstalled. It seems all the problems appeared when Nokia Maps was included in the firmware and concern users which had installed it before on phone memory. I hope they will be resolved in next software update from Nokia.

Nokia Maps DATABASE

Hello, im from Romania, and i have a question for nokia and the NAVTEQ guys, when are you going to update your database, because Romania is a big country and the maps suport is very very poor... Does anybody know when is OVI, NOKIA or NAVTEQ going to update their database in any way???? .....
I mean come on, they always say, use maploader to UPDATE yur maps, blablablbla...... well , whats to update???
... just give me a date , or a update changelog of OVI, NOKIA, or NAVTEQ related updates to NOKIA MAPS???....

I live in Oradea , thats a city in Romania on street Razboieni... its not major road, its a secondary one... a pretty big secondary road...
Good luck trying to find that one.... or another example, try to find street Shakespeare in Oradea, Romania... please, humor me in trying to find these prety big secondary roads in Romania Maps by Navteq NOKIA....
ok, u chose Bucharest.... that is the CAPITAL of Romania and the ONLY city in ROMANIA NOKIA MAPS that is detailed they way it should be ... i told u ....pls compare Romania maps to Hungary maps, Hungary s smaller country than Romania, but with far better Maps coverage that Romania.... before telling me that Romania has the same map details as other countries please check your resources and realy LOOK and what i said...

Nokia maps suite 2.0 update- any issues?

My phone is showing up an update Nokia maps suite 2.0 on software update client. Has anybody installed this update? I am a bit apprehensive because the Nokia maps 3.08 we got as update last time had problems and it had to taken off from the servers. I just want to confirm that this has no issues.

I upgraded to the new "official" versioin using Nokia Suite. The upgrade seemed to go smoothly, but when I was still waiting five or six minutes after it said "one minute left" I got concerned. I didn't stop anything on the PC - I simply picked up the phone and started 'Maps'.
Whether i was coincidence or just my timing, the process completed on the PC, just as Maps was starting up on the phone.
Indoors, it was no longer sure of my location - it kept changing me to random places that were close to where I live, but not not correct. That's when I had to stop.
The next day, on a trip from Miami to Ft. PIerce, the software seemed to work beautifully. I like the revised interface. The phone worked fine, and I was quite pleased with it all.
(I didn't know about the 20-megs of space being taken up in C: memory - if so, I'm hoping Nokia will correct this. As to the update, I don't know if the installation just "hanging" on my PC was normal - if I would have kept on waiting, maybe it would have completed without my having started the software on my phone. Overall, I'm quite pleased - but keep in mind that Nokia Maps is now the single biggest reason why I'm still using a N8.)

depends on vodafone buddy. generic firmware versions are made available before the operator branded ones. ultimately, the decision is up to nokia and vodafone as to whether or not they will release updates to your current firmware. you just have to hope that they do . by the way, what is your current firmware version?

I'm tired with my nokia c2-00 since it can't connect internet to applications such as opera mini and the like and using the default web is costy and slower.so i'm waiting for an update if that will be a solution. If the default web browser is working then your internet connection settings on the phone are correct. The fact that 3rd party apps don't work would not be supported by Nokia. 3rd party app issues should be brought up with the app developers.

Installing maverics: mail-database will not update - it 'hangs'

all seems to work, except that Mail will not start: the database update process seems to hang.
Is anything known about this? How can I re-start this process manually and re-import the mail data from my ccc backup?
I am upgrading from mountain-Lion on a 2nd partition of the same disk, just to see if all will work nicely. I did the same thing with my macbook and this worked fine.

Do a backup.
Quit Mail.
Go to Finder and select your user/home folder. With that Finder window as the front window, either select Finder/View/Show View options or go command - J. When the View options opens, check ’Show Library Folder’. That should make your user library folder visible in your user/home folder. Go to Library/Containers/com.apple.mail. Move the folder com.apple.mail to your desktop. You must move the entire folder, not just the contents.
Restart, re-launch Mail and test. If the problem is solved, recreate any required Mail settings and import any emails you want to save from the folder on the desktop. You can then put the folder in the Trash. If the problem remains, return the folder to where you got it replacing the one that is there.

Database will not update! grr

I am using an excel database to store a string "Verb" and a number "Type".
Heres the thing:
The update works IF excel has the database open and is displaying it. Then when i click the save button, I can see in excel that my verb has popped up. Then, when i close out of excel, it asks me to save, even though i have done nothing using excel. if i save, the data sent from my program remains, if i do not, it is not there when i open it again.
If excel is never open, the function executeUpdate returns 1 which means it was successful, but if i open the database in my program in excel, the data is not there. Here's my functions:

Does anyone know how i can get this to update without ever using excel, otherwise the program is useless because you could just do it through excel anyway and i REALLY REALLY don't want that.

1) Give due consideration to not using Excel. Access might be a good alternative. Excel is really not a database and thus can have all sorts of weirdness when you try and use it as a database.
2) Close your connection. Due to ODBC shenanigans if you use a file based ODBC datasource then you need to close the connection in order to flush the changes to the file. Simply close the connection (which you should be doing anyway) and see if that helps ( it may). I would recommend not having the file also open in Excel at the same time.

N82 Nokia Maps update fail

I have a problem with my phone. The phone was turned off by mistake during Nokia Maps update. Nokia Maps do not work at all now. When i push button "Maps", I don't get any reaction. Nothing happens. Could you please give me a piece of advice, how i can to reinstall Nokia Maps or something else? I was trying Nokia Maps Loader, but it did not help me...

Try reinstalling it using the same procedure you used whe updating. If this works fine but if it doesn't then you have to reinstall the previous version and then try updating again.
Because Nokia Maps is embeded in the firmware, to reinstall the original Nokia Maps version, you have to reinstall the firmware. To do this, you have to use the *#7370# reformat phone code. Before reformatting you need to backup all data in your phone because your phone will be wiped.
After reinstalling the firmware, you will find that you are back to the previous version of Nokia Maps. Now try updating again. After you successfully update, delete the "Cities" folder on the memory card, use Nokia Maps at least once. Now finally you can use Map Loader to download latest maps.

On the Nokia Maps FAQ it states the following regarding updates:
1.11 How often is the map data in Nokia Maps updated?
The map data will be updated twice a year. You can check for map updates in the Nokia Maps application through Options > Settings > Network > Options > Check for map Updates.
On my E65 I don't appear to have this option to check for updates.
Can someone let me know how to check which map version I have and how to find out when new maps are available.

Whilst Nokia Maps is running goto Options > About to check what version you have.
Provided that a "network connection" is available I believe that the "Check for Map Updates only appears if application detects disparity between stored maps and those currently available, but I might be wrong on this.

Nokia Maps is just stays calulating a route?

Hello.
I have just got my N95 8G phone. I Hard reset it, install new firmware and got a 7 day trial of Nokia maps.
I try to get it to calulate a route, even a very short one and it just never finnished calculating a route.
I saw a few others online having same problems, so then decideed to install Map loader v2. This software just freezes at startup logo, I guess this isnt Vista 64 compatible?
I then installed the older map load v1.1 and this works. I remove all old maps, and install the voice and map data from scratch, this makes no difference.
Question is, is this a phone fault or software fault, and is there a soloution?

Ok, it seems I have solved it. I did the following.
1:format the mass storage.
2:Hard reset.
3:Reinstalled v30 -18 firmware.
4:installed the maps and voice.
Had no effect.
5: Downladed Nokia map update (Beta)

The phone crashed repetedly when either opening Nokia Maps, or sellect add licence key, or words to that effect.
After several attempts I mannaged to add the licence key.
6: I when to Menu/Tools/connectivity GPS Data. Select Position, then options/Satalite status and left the phone on windw seal untill I got at least a 4 bar filled lock.
7: When to nokia maps sellected a destination and it worked.
Next at your own risk:
I then debranded the phone, re installed the firmware v30-18 again which put the older maps in again, but continued to work, i.e calculated the route within 15 seconds.

Here's my brand new, maps crashing issue; For some bizzare reason, I thought I'd try to use a-gps. I've always had pretty good luck with the thing syncing but it could be better.
I recently came to Germany and got a MOBI (vodafone) sim card and I set vodafone live as my provider. It didn't seem to be any faster so I went into setting, (in maps) and tried to turn it off.
The problem is; I can't. When I go into Maps settings and click on Network, it shuts off Maps or reboots the phone. Now, whenever I turn on maps, it logs onto vodafone and burns off all of my credit in about 5 minutes...and I can't turn it off and I can't use maps without using all of my expensive credit.
It's really **bleep** me off. This is the first software issue I've had with this thing and I have no idea how to solve it. I've gone into Tools>General>Positioning methods and only have Integrated gps checked but it's still logging on.
It's a real pain. If I could remember my lock code, I'd reset everything to default.
Any idea...?
