When is the h.264 bit rate issue going to be fixed?

If you export a project in After Effects using the H.264 codec the file you export does not have the correct bitrate. Meaning if you export a video at 1mbps compression rate you will not get a video that has 1mbps bitrate. This has been an issue since day one along with header issues in the .mp4 file. Please do not tell me not to use AE to create H.264, this is what we used and works fine in CS4. The same issues arrises when you use Adobe Media Encoder CS5.
Does anyone have a solution or anyone from Adobe have any suggestions?

Thanks but that didn't help.
I believe I have found out the actual issue. CS5 will not render a project above the lowest bitrate of the source video for H.264. So if you have a video file at 300kbps it cannot be rendered above that point. This is a problem when you understand how bitrates\codecs work. Not all codecs need an extremely high bitrate in order for the quality of the content to look good. We use the TechSmith screen capture codec a lot. This codec is create for screen capturing, it provides a low bitrate file which is small in size and easy to handle. We have been using this combination with the CS package since before it was CS. The videos we procude look great in CS4  but awful in CS5. When using mediainfo to check out a video file compressed in CS5 it gives us a Bit Rate and a Normal Bit Rate. Normal bit rate is what is requested, say 1mbps and the actual Bit Rate is what the source material was.
In any case the video files look like crap because a 250kbps .mp4 looks awful compaired to a 250kbps video using the TSCC codec. So yeah, not using CS5 and most likely won't be doing any more upgrades in a while. I'm responsible for purchasing over 10 licenses. Just wanted to let Adobe know they won't be getting that money again for a while until they figure out there compression issues.

  • When is the bluetooth file transfer to Android going to be fixed?!

Unable to properly connect an Android phone using Bluetooth File Exchange on MacBook Pro with 10.8.2. The Mac is able to connect to the phone, but only to send files or browse, not get them from the phone. This was not the case with the same phone and a MacBook Pro with 10.6. Any fixes?

I uploaded ios 8.0.2 on my iPhone 6 128 GB today 9-29-14 due to problems with Bluetooth talking to my ReSound Linx hearing aids to hopefully fix the problem. It sounds like the Bluetooth looses connection to the hearing aids and turns them off for about 1 1/2 minutes, then they come back on and I can hear again. I understand there are problems with Bluetooth and cars using the phone. I believe this Bluetooth problem is causing my hearing aid problem as my hearing aids connect to the iPhone via Bluetooth and the ReSound Smart App. I tried the reset fix, Settings>General>Reset>Reset All Settings as some have suggested but that did not resolve this issue either. I can't believe Apple is not talking about this ios 8.0.2 Bluetooth problem. This affects my everyday life in that I cannot hear when the Bluetooth drops.Try working with your hearing dropping every few minutes! If Apple wants in the Health field, I suggest they take their QA a little bit more serious than they are at present. Whomever was responsible for testing ios 8, 8.0.1 & 8.0.2 should be fired! This is causing more trouble than anyone can imagine. I understand the car - Bluetooth problem but think about the fact that if every time the Bluetooth drops, you can't hear.My job could be in jeopardy. I posted the problem to Apple Support and they will not even have the decency to respond with even a "we are sorry." How long do I have to go without being able to hear before Apple responds??????

  • Using the "Convert higher bit rate songs to 128 kbps AAC" feature...

I recently discovered the "Convert higher bit rate songs to 128 kbps AAC" feature and used it to copy my entire 70 GB music library to my 64GB iPad. The music library now occupies only 45 GB. Awesome!!!
Unfortunately, the whole process took well over 24++ hours on my quad core Windows 7 computer (takes about 6 seconds per track). Questions:
    1. Is it possible to speed up the process? Even though I am using iTunes 64-bit version, it seems that at no point is more than a single core being used at 33%. Seems to me like overall 8% of the CPU (33% / 4) capacity is being used for the conversion and 92% is being left idle. Is this just bad programming or is there anything I can do to speed up the process? Others see similar problems?
    2. Now I have already started dreading the day, I need to restore my iPad (e.g., when OS version 4 becomes available). I would hate to have to do this process all over again. Should I need to restore my iPad, is there anyway I can force iTunes to back up the 128-bit AAC versions on my computer and restore it up from there?
Any insights into both these questions will be deeply appreciated.
    Cheers,

So, I am wondering why iTunes uses only 8% of the processor power in converting the songs.
Possible reasons not to grab more of the CPU power (1) maybe the process is I/O bound due to all the writing, and is not processor limited? (2) since conversion is almost always a background program, and the user will typically have other things going on, maybe it intentionally limits CPU use?
I ran a few quick experiments (out of curiosity) and think the answer is #2. No apparent technical reason but potentially a limitation introduced by Apple's engineers to maintain a good user experience (for some people at least). I fired up 4 instances of dbpoweramp and ran multiple conversions and found that the process goes faster than what iTunes can do by an order of magnitude. With luck, someday Apple will have an option for users to select how much of processor bandwidth to be allocated for the conversion.

  • Is 5S accelerometer issue going to be fixed?

I was about to upgrade my iPhone 4S to the 5S until I discovered the Accelerometer bug here: http://gizmodo.com/heres-why-the-iphone-5s-accelerometer-is-so-screwed-up-144596 6306 .  As I understand it, Apple switched to a Bosch unit that is 4X less accurate than what is currently in the iPhone 5 and my 4S.  I believe the switch was done because the Bosch unit used less power (4X less accurate so that makes sense it uses less power, lower frequency sampling).
This problem obviously can't be fixed via software or OS updates so it appears to be hardware ONLY fix.
I went to an Apple retail (and a Verizon store) store to find out if they hand any iPhone 5S in stock.  They said no and indicated a 2-3 week minium before they expect to see any new shipments.
    So my questions:
    1.  Are the shipment delays realted to fixing the Accelerometer (replacing the Bosch unit)?
    2.  If no, Is Apple going to try to "mask" the problem via software updates similar to how they approached the iPhone 4 antenna problem?
Please don't take this into the "speculation" process, Apple obviously know about it as do most of the world.  And Apple obviously know if they are going to fix it and/or address it with a masked solution.  Please no Apple fanatic responses, just the facts please.  I can wait for the iPhone 6 if nothing is going to get fixed in  the 5S.
    Rob

There is no factless speculation, but I can see you are intent on getting this thread deleted under false accusation of speculation.
The article I linked with the iPhone 5S demonstrates the problem that exists, fact, not fiction.  A simple Google search will result 1000's of links to other sources that demonstrate the exact same problems with accelerometer.
Honestly, responses like this do NOT encourage end consumers to buy Apple products.  And making ridiculous claims that facts about the 5S can only exist if they come from Apple is silly.  Hopefully people will see thru your attempts to get this thread deleted.

  • What is the highest mp3 bit rate that Ipod plays without disk problems

I have a 60gig iPod. i note that iTunes can encode to mp3 at a bit rate of 192. Can the 60gig iPod play these files without any disk problems. If it can are there any other considerations?

the current ipod (5th gen) specification says...
Audio formats supported: AAC (16 to 320 Kbps), Protected AAC (from iTunes Store), MP3 (16 to 320 Kbps), MP3 VBR, Audible (formats 2, 3 and 4), Apple Lossless, AIFF and WAV
    http://www.apple.com/ipod/specs.html
btw the ipod disk isn't the limiting factor, sound files are played from buffer memory, the disk only runs when the buffer needs to be refilled

  • Bit Rate Issues

Ok here is the problem, in both H.264 and Mpeg-4 If I set the Bit rate to say 300kbps the end file has a bit rate of 512 kbps with a total bit rate of around 700kbps. Any suggestions or solutions. My audio is set at Liner PCI at 32.kHz 16bit
its like Quicktime is overriding my bit rate

Your wondering why you bit rate is 700kbs? Probably because you using PMC for your audio. Try AAC...your audio file will be smaller...Remember you bit rate is your video and audio added together.
Open you finished video in Quicktime--->Windows-->Show Movies Properties. This will show you the bit rate for the audio and video separately.

  • When I Tick Convert higher bit rate songs to 128kbps and press sync it says are you sure you want to remove apps. Help please

Hi, I recently put music on my ipad (manually, I do not sync because I dont like leaving music in my itunes) I realised they take up a lot of space because of the bit rate so I went into iTunes and pressed "Convert higher bit rate songs to 128 kbps AAC" Then I pressed apply and I got the message "Are you sure you want to remover 113 apps......." I have checked and sync Apps is unticked so my question is why does it say this and is there a way around it. Also if i tick convert to AAC will it convert the songs already on my ipad or just ones I add from now on.

Why not? That's what it is for.
So Restoring your iPad when it crashes and losing all your music is acceptable to you?

Since you now want to sync the iPad and have told it you do not want to sync apps, it will remove them all.
Check the apps you want on the iPad.
Also if i tick convert to AAC will it convert the songs already on my ipad or just ones I add from now on.
It will only convert new songs added to the iPad.

  • More bit rate issues

I am burning a reel on Studio Pro 3. However, the bit rate is too high. This doesn't make sense to me as it is only 5 minutes of mpeg-2 video from final cut pro. I have compressed the audio however that doesn't seem to help either. I need the quality of the image to be at it's highest so I assumed becaue it is such little runnning time that I could maximize the bit rate to 9 and put the motion estimator at best and do a two pass VBR. I am using a 4.7 GB dvd. Is there anything I can do to get the best quality image without the bit rate preventing the burning?

9mbps is overkill with VBR or CBR.
8mbps can be overkill sometimes too.
Using Compressor with DV footage, 7.0 average, with a 7.4 or 7.5 high is fine.
    AC3 should be at 192 or 224kbps.
With Compressor, anything over 7.5 is just a waste of file size and doesn't make the file look any better.
    See how that goes.
If you had 9mbps for video and 224 for audio, then you were maxing out the overall bitrate at 9.25mbps.
Even 8.25 might be too much on some players.
7.75 is your max, maybe 8.
    Hope that helps.

  • How can in improve the quality or bit rate of my iTunes library.

I need to improve the quality of my original iTunes library.  How do I  increase the bit rate in iTunes for the library I have downloaded or can I improve what I have or will download.

iTunes purchases are at 256k in AAC format. If you want better than that you'll need to purchase elsewhere. You can rerip your CDs at your preferred bitrate. If you have some older itunes purchases these could be in 128k protected AAC format. Every now and again the iTunes Store offers links to upgrade such tracks to the current format for a smaller fee than purchasing new copies.

  • When will the native 64 bit version of Adobe Acrobat come out? XII, XIII?

When will develop native 64 bit version of Adobe Acrobat? Will XII or XIII version be genuine 64 bit? Anyone knows the development progress?

    Hi Evonium,
The hope is that we get it in the upcoming Acrobat XII release, but at this point it's still not known for sure...
But as Adobe has been methodically upgrading almost all of their creative apps to native 64-bit versions in recent years, it would seem timely.

  • H.264 bit rate, quality

Is it possible to adjust the max bit rate / quality for a custom screen size
(e.g. 480 x 270) using the Adobe Media Encoder? The default sizes seem set

On my system (Windows XP Pro SP2, Premiere CS3) any attempt to use flash
(either On6 or Sorenson) immediately crashes Premiere.
Quicktime colors are washed out and lacks contrast.
Using video from a Canon XL H1 and Aspect HD, Windows Media looks great.
    Excellent colors, contrast, and detail.
Any suggestions on how to get Flash to work and how to improve the colors in
    Quicktime?

  • Nokia E63 bit rate issue

    Hi,
I have a mp4 file with high bitrate (561kbits) during playing, It pauses/stills for a while.
E63 supports up to how many bitrate per seconds?
    Thanks in advance.
    Nimesh T.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

There are two converters available; ImToo (Commercial) and AnyVideoConverter aka; AVC Free (they have a free version)
Both are pretty simple to use; Just select "MP4 Profile" set the bit-rate, Screen resolution and hit convert. (i don't see anything complicated using both)
So try those, Specially AVC, due to the fact its free.
    Good Luck.

  • When is the Flash issue going to be fixed in Lion?  Freezes every time...

I can't even load the YouTube website without my entire computer coming to screeching halt.  I have to hard reboot my computer everytime.  Doesn't matter if the youtube video is embedded in another website as long as its a flash video it crashes my computer now that I have installed Lion.  HELP..!!

I may be the only one with this issue and if so then I apologize for mis stating the question.  However, my iMac is less than 2 weeks old and as soon I upgraded I had the issue.  I also saw the same issue listed on MacRumors which lead me to believe that others are aware of the problem.  I just downloaded flash 11 beta and am no longer having that issue.  Perhaps it is specific to the 21.5 inch iMac's i'm not sure.  Hopefully others with similar issues will try the beta and at least be able to surf content without crashing.  Thanks again for everyones quick responses.
PS.  I don't care about Flash either and wish it would go away.
