When is the iPhone 5 factory unlock coming out?

I just want to know when is apple going to launch the iphone5 factory unlock so I can upgrade my 4s?

ALL Verizon units are shipping unlocked and will work on a GSM network, except LTE will not work on them in the US only.
If you buy an AT&T unit for full price with no contract, AT&T WILL factory unlock it (via iTunes) for you. I called Apple and they are not going to sell factory unlocked units online for the foreseeable future. My guess is next year when demand settles down.

    There are no more future updates for iPhone 3G. There is probably a hardware issue with your phone that an update would not fix.

    I made a mistake there. Yesterday I went over to the store and was disappointed to find only the iPhone 5 and the 4G. Back to square one. Buy now is basically still pre order seeing as we don't know when it arrives.

    No way to know. Apple has not announced anything about a Second Generation Mini at this time.  When they do you can bet it will be posted everywhere.
    Personally I'd wait for their customary media event in September, we'll likely hear about it then if its being planned at all.

    Why should you? Both, Photos and iPhoto, also Aperture can coexist peacefully.
    Keep organizing your photos in iPhoto, while giving Photos a trial run. And when you are sure that Photos is what you want migrate your iphoto Libraries. But you may still want to use iPhoto for editing or adding Places to photos and similar.
    So keep it installed.

    SIx months ago, when this thread was last active, 5.1 had not yet been released. Pvonk was correct at the time of writing. We still do not know when the next update will be released. The Terms of Use of this forum prohibit us from speculating about things that Apple has not yet announced.

    This is an iPad user to user forum. Apple doesn't read or respond. We have no way to know what and when Apple will do something. You'll have to wait for an announcement by Apple.

    Sorry, only Apple will know that, Rob; and even if we knew, nobody would be allowed to post it here, before the raw support has been released.

    I can understand, that you are eager to try your new camera - try Adobe's DNG converter, while you are waiting - http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/product.jsp?product=106&platform=Macintos h
    or shoot rwa&jpeg and set the Import panel to import raw&jpeg, with the jpeg as original. YOu can change that later, when the raw support has been released, and use the raw files you imported.
