When is the WRT610n media server going to support mkv files?????

I bought the WRT610n because it had the twonkyvision media server bundled, which I have been using for years to stream from computers to my Dlink media players. They just updated the firmware a few weeks ago but did not update the media server to a version that supports mkv files. Why?

Probably because mkv is not 'mainstream' enough to warrant providing support.

I have this problem, I have PS CS6 and when I click on File> Import> Video Frames to Layers.. Next, the window that says "Initializing Video Import" starting to load and always get stuck and that's what appears: "Could not complete the video frames to layers command because the DynamicLink Media Server is not available". That's with aaaall the videos.
PS: I've been trying with File> Open but that's what says "Could not complete your request because it is not the right kind of document"

The relevant auxiliary service/ helper app is being blocked and thus not launching,. anything from permissions issues to security tools getting in teh way. Check your Task Manager/ Activity Monitor, turn off security stuff, run as admin.

i found the error!
little snitch on os x blocks something (i dont know what exact) of adobe in the background. i have no rule defined for adobe in little snitch, so everything of adobe can go out.
when i stop little snitch, everything works fine - photoshop opens videos without the medialink error, photoshop starts up in seconds and premiere starts without a quicktime error.
i report the problem also to objective developement to fix this!

FMS4 -Set the Flash Media Server services to Run as Administrator (FMSCore not running)

Installed fms4 x64 on windows server 2008 to try it out. When i open up task manager to check processes running, FMSCore process does not runhttp://kb2.adobe.com/cps/862/cpsid_86205.htmlI found this in the knowledge base but step3 "Run this program As Administrator" checkbox is greyed out so i cannot do anything. I have stopped and restarted service so many time, rebooted server at least twice.
Even the video that's supposed to play when you click the start screen is not playingSet the Flash Media Server services to Run as Administrator
Complete the following steps for each of the following files located in the Flash Media Server root installation folder (C:/Program Files/Adobe/Flash Media Server, by default):
FMSAdmin.exe
FMSCore.exe
FMSMaster.exe
FMSEdge.exe
Right-click the file and chooseProperties.
Select the Compatibility tab and click Change Settings For All Users.
Select Run This Program As Administrator. Click Apply, and then click OK.
Complete these steps for each Flash Media Server service.
Restart the computer.
Flash Media Server starts when the computer starts.

How did you make sure that the services are restarted ? Probably they have not yet started at all ? You need to have admin privileges to start/stop the FMS services. Please make sure you have the admin rights for the logged in user.
Open a command prompt as admin, and run the following commands :
net start fms
net start fmsadmin.

Can't connect the Flash Media Server

My OS is Windows XP ,I install the Flash Media Server in
C:\programme files\
using fms2_console.swf i can successfully connect to the
server and manage it.
I make a empty folder named 'test' in the application folder
then i deploy it in cosole.
next I write actionscript in flex to connect to the server.
but it always return 'connection failed'
in the server log ,it displays 'Sun 06:46:55 PM: Core (3964)
socket migration failed.'
I use netstat -a ,the port 1111,1935 ,11110,19350 are open.

The image is taken as photo from the CameraUI in the Client Side(AIR Mobile Application) and saved as a .jpg file in the mobile. I passed the image byte array values from the client to the server. How to convert that byte array to a file in the Adobe Media server?

Apple has not said when they are going to fix it. And tech people at Verizon and ATT don't have a clue as to why it is happening. At least they gave me a credit on the usage. You can always monitor the forum for announcements. My experience has been that I have been automatically notified when the official updates are available. I'm using Photoshop CS6, and the application manager associated with that program always notifies me when there is an update available. You can go ahead and install the release candidate now, and still install the official release when it comes.

Home Media Server - Error Loading Supported Device...

I have recently installed the Home Media Server application that came on the DVD with my N82, onto my PC.
However, I am unable to 'see' my N82 as a device. When I select, Add new Devices I get an error message stating 'Error loading Supported Devices - please check your internet connection.
I thought that this may be a Firewall issue but Home Media Server is listed in my Firewall as accepted.
Any thoughts would be appreciated
History: Always Nokia since 1994 including Nokia 2140, 7110e, 6150, 6210, 6310i, 6230i, N82
Current: Nokia N8 (Anna - I have no intention of going to Belle) - and delighted with it!

Have you tried searching the forum? I remember quite a few people had this problem a few years ago.
Make sure you search the entire forum, not just the N series board as I think the answer is in one of the other more appropriate boards.
Use the keywords "home media server". Answers that apply to other models like the N95 should also apply to the N82.
