There are a lot of posts in the forums today with people having problems with iMessage. There was also a published outage yesterday, so it's possible there are still some issues that may be impacting you both.

I've created various playlists on my iphone5. Everytime I sync my phone with itunes on my PC I lose these playlist. Any ideas on how to stop this happening? I've tried various methods but the sync always results in the playlists which I've set-up on itunes on my PC over-writing my mobile created playlists. Having just purchased an iphone 5s I want to ensure that my iphone playlists transfer over ok to my new phone.

Not sure why I am getting this message anyway. I wasn't trying to buy anything. I just upgraded and then I tried to access the store. I had two purchases that I had previously made from a different computer. I was going to download them to this computer as my iPod is synced to this computer and you can only sync it to one computer. I was able to view my account information and from there I was able to click on the Purchased link. I saw the two items and downloaded them. But I received an error about the second album. It said that I didn't have sufficient privileges. When I checked all the songs had downloaded. Only the booklet was missing. Maybe this has something to do with the issue, I don't know. As far as I know, I purchased everything from the US store. I don't even know how to switch to a different store.
In any case, I can't access the store because the item I requested is not currently available in the US store. So why don't they just dump me at the home page instead of blocking me completely.It is working now. I no longer get the message about the item not being available in the US and I can access the store.

Itunes 10.4.1 opens automatically. how to stop this?
This was never an issue before this last update. I have always set iTunes to NOT open automatically when I plug in my iPod Touch but now I cannot seem to get it to stop. Here's what I've tried:
In the summary tab of my device page in iTunes, the item "Open iTunes when this iPod is connected" is UNCHECKED and GREYED OUT. But when I connect my iPod to either of my Windows 7 computers, the application starts automatically anyway.
I did some searching and someone pointed me toward the Preferences pages. In the "devices" tab I have always checked the box "Prevent iPods, iPhones and iPads from syncing automatically. Their suggestion was to uncheck this box (which made me nervous). I did. When returning to the summary tab of my device page the "Open iTunes when..." was checked. I unchecked it and hit apply. It asked me if I really wanted to delete all 114 applications from my iPod. I chose "cancel".
I disconnected my iPod and shut down iTunes.
When I plugged in my iPod again, iTunes started automatically.
Does this mean I need to delete all my apps and music to get iTunes to NOT start automatically?
And to repeat, this was never an issue until I installed the update to 10.4.1. I had not changed any settings in iTunes. All I did was install the update and this behaviour began.
Any help out there?
Thanks!ITunes started opening automatically about every 30 seconds on my P.C. - I realised that the last thing I did when I connected my iPad to my PC (last time using my USB cable connection) was to put a "X" in the box that said "Sync using wifi". I re-connceted my iPad by the cable and I unchecked this box, iTunes stopped opening automatically every 30 seconds.
My PC was obviously looking for my iPad by wifi every 30 seconds, -
Everytime when i connect 3g internet with my laptop using USB (Windows 7) it creats new connection trailing network1, network2, network3.........
It does not recognise my old connection.
Same case with wifi connection as well.
Also after updating new IOS-5, whenever i make USB connection it does not display my name under my computer.
But before it use to display my name now it is coming as Apple I-phone.
Anyone who can help on this, how to get it resolved.
- I have update my phone with backup (OLD version of IOS) but issue still presists.

@ru..If the message that is displaying is "Network connection timed out", disable any Anti-Virus or Firewall software on the comptuer or check with the company that supports the product on how to modify it to allow iTunes to connect to the Internet.

iOS 5 seems to work on my ipad, but apparently something went wrong when restoring. I lost music and movies, and when I connect the ipad to my macbook, I get the message that itunes was interrupted when restoring. I try to restore again and I get the message "An error occurred while restoring this iPad (-50)." What happened and what should I do?
I have had the same issue since day 1 of the ios5 installation. I always hit "Cancel" and then the iPad eventually shows up again in iTunes. Then a few hours later, I get the same message again. Annoying, but I've not found a way around it.

Why am I getting a message that iTunes is not installed when trying to access items in IE?
When I am using IE and find an app on the store, then click the button to view in iTunes I am redirected to the download screen. I tried subscribing to a podcast recently as well and got the message that iTunes was not installed on my computer. When I try to do the same actions in Chrome they work fine. Unfortunetly, Chrome does not work well with some of the software my college uses so I would like to get IE functioning fully before classes start back up. This happens even if I disable my firewall. I have tried updating iTunes and I tried uninstalling and reinstalling it. My husband's computer has several itunes plugins in IE but I don't for some reason.
Reset IE to defaults.

When i tried to download iOS8 on my iPad Mini it told me that I needed to connect my iPad to iTunes, I have done that and now it says I need to restore my iPad. How can I get my iPad working without losing everything on my iPad? I don't want to lose my apps and photos!
Help would be much appreciated!If you are getting the connect to iTunes screen then it's too late to take a new backup and/or copy anything off it. Prior to starting the update did you take a backup, either to the cloud and/or to your computer's iTunes ? If not then have you recently taken a backup that might have your photos and apps content/settings in it ?
As long as the apps are still in your country's store then you should be able to redownload them via the Purchased tab in the App Store app (and the Purchased link under Quick Links on the right-hand side of the iTunes store homepage on your computer's iTunes), and if the apps store their content on a server/cloud service then you might be able to get their content back from that - if they store their content on the device then you will need to have a backup.
For our photos you could try doing a search for programs that claim to be able to recover content from a device - I haven't used any so I can't suggest one. -

Applecare Senior Advisor Txx Bxxx (I have his contact info in an email he just sent) just confirmed with me that the problem people are having with the App Store not loading is an apple issue with there servers, ITS NOT YOUR IPAD so don't go restoring it! It's not happening to everyone however but they are looking into it, its really hit or miss.

Try this first - Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.
This works for some users. Not sure why.
Go to Settings>General>Date and Time> Set Automatically>Off. Set the date ahead by about a year.Then see if you can connect to the store.

Can't even load software help needed!
