The first time an iPhone is connected to iTunes that is used to sync with another iPhone or iOS device, you are prompted to transfer the backup for the other iPhone or iOS device or to set up the iPhone as a new iPhone.
The former does as provided - it transfers the backup for the other iPhone or iOS device to the iPhone replacing all data on the iPhone that is included with the backup being transferred. The latter does nothing allowing you to make your various selections for the iPhone sync preferences with iTunes.
This is designed to be done right away with a new iPhone.
If you don't have a backup for the iPhone with iTunes on your computer and don't have an iCloud backup that hasn't been updated since choosing to transfer the backup for your iPod Touch to the iPhone, the data that was on the iPhone is gone.

Contact your "friend." Have him set up the MBP for your with your own account, settings and passwords. You are not running IOS 5.1. That is for iPhone and iPad users. What OS are you running? Did he give you the OS installer disks?

You can see which devices are using find my phone at iCloud.com > Find my phone. If your MacBook isn't shown there, you should be able to add it at system preferences > iCloud, by turning find my phone on. -

To Whom It May Concern:
I bought a Mastercard Giftcard for $50 the other day. It was only because the games needed updating before I could play them again, and my card on file had expired.
I kept getting a message stating the the card was declined. Also, it kept telling me to try to put in another card, or different form of payment.
I tried several times to get the MC to go through, and it didn't. It was not even showing that the card info even updated!
When I went to check the amount of the giftcard, there were 4 pending charges of $10.89 on it.
How do I get this money back? Please let me know as soon as possible.

Getting crazy text in firefox and other app's
I have been getting some crazy text in programs such as firefox

It starts of normal but after about 10-15 minutes it starts to glitch out like that. it seems to be going on with any gui app. As terminal programs still look ok.
I am running a fully updated system on 3.6.7-1

I have the same issue, but _only_ in the tab titles in chromium. Anything else works *fingerscrossed*. My work machine looks different, I had to switch to nouveau driver there.

I am using iphone 4, and upgraded the system to IOS6 already. but I found I could not send test message to UK and US, I could call phone number in UK or US successfully. Could someone to help me to fix up this issue. I guess the problem probably came from the format of UK or US phone number in my Iphone address book. Due there is some blank space between the phone number for iphone phone number format. I ever try andro phone, no blank space there, so could send test message to UK and UK without problem.

I know that iCloud backs-up apps and other stuff to your phone incase you want restore from a back-up if you start a New iPhone. My question is if I start a new iPhone (not use the restore from back-up option) and redownload apps like (Games, Instagram), would my pics show up on Instagram and would my Games show it was saved and the acccomplisments will remain from the last place I left out.

Icloud or itunes backup, only backs up app data, not the app itself.
so if you restore as new, then there is no app data on your phone, you start out new... -
Frustrating that either my mac can communicate with iCloud alone or my iphone , But the information on my calendar is not merging! My password on my yahoo account is according to icloud wrong , but it isn't ! Only pages and other apps could be passed to the i phone . The local store says I should pay for them solving the problem . I doubt they will listen to all the aspects before I search again and again (and pay again and again??) Allready been there many times, downloaded many things!!
She was as frustrated as I and was going to kick the problem "upstairs." She felt that by now iCloud had been out long enough for them to have resolved the issues without having to resort to fixes from the outside (so in essence, I would have to say that she agrees with you that they should be able to provide a resolution for their own software).
I have more than just that issue on my MBP (iPhoto keeps asking me to "upgrade" everytime I open it, old Safari windows open when I restart or turn the machine on from a shutdown....I think it's possessed. I'm able to do everything that I want to do, but it's very annoying....) and so I'll be working with her again when she returns to work on Monday. I do have to say that she doesn't rush and has spent at a minimum 2 hours each night for the last 2 nights with me over the phone (talk about califlower ear!)
She had me do a reinstall of Lion last night and as far as I can tell, it fixed nothing.... -

don´t be worry, this would not be a problem.
You have to take the same Aplle ID on both devices, then you can sync them via iTunes by using all universal apps on each device, create playlists, albums and all the things you need and sync it, no problem...

No Pages 'Save as' dialogue in iWork for ICloud beta.
I have successfully created some Pages files in the iWork for ICloud beta. I have not saved them i.e., named the files as you do in Pages for iMac (Edit>Save). They appear as Blank 1, Blank 2, Blank 3 etc., in the Safari browser's tabs.
I know I can rename files in iCloud's 'My Document' web page. I also know iCloud will continue to track and save changes to these files.
I am a regular Pages on iMac user but cannot see where I can name the Pages file in the iCloud Beta version in the first place.

I am so angry - there has to be a misunderstanding. my Itunes was disabled as there was a charge that I did not authorize and I cannot find the phone number for security and the dingbat girl who I'm emailing send me a link that does not work. My alarm clock and other apps no longer play any sound. Ringer is still working and i can not find any settings that are turning off the sound. What could cause this?
I know for a fact apple doesn't want carriers fixing their phones. My carrier even warned me that they can't fix the phones only apple stores can fix them. Well guess what I just wasted my whole day by driving to an apple store they "fixed" my phone I got home and it started doing the same **** things they didn't fix **** now I have to waste even more time by finding a ups store to ship my phone to apple so that means I'm going to be out of a phone for over a week because they never fixed it or replaced it like they should have. I'm so upset with apple that if this new phone does the same things were dropping apple and are going to samsung. I wasted 4 hours driving and $40 in gas and 6 hours of my time for nothing. Apple needs to put in more store around the country if their not going to let the carriers fix the phones them selves.

I upgraded my 3rd gen iTouch to iOS 5.1.1 and now its speed to repond is slower and the battery goes flat quicker than before the upgrade. Skype, Sky iCloud and other apps are turned off (I think). Has anybody else suffered with this? Any ideas?

In a word, yes. In a little more detail.... When you restore from an iCloud backup, you must erase the device and start all over again. There is no other way to access the backup in iCloud without erasing the device. Consequently, you are starting all over again. Therefore, it would also be my assumption that Pages and Numbers will work again and that the deleting apps issues would be fixed as well.
If the documents are not in the backup, and you do not have a backup elsewhere, the documents could be gone forever. -
