Run the cleaner tool and reinstall from scratch, making sure you have proper file permissions and user privileges and turning off potential disturbances liek virus scanners etc..

I had to replace my hard drive and so I had to re-install Premiere Pro CS4. I tried to do that with the files I had downloaded before, but the install failed and gave me the error message "The Installer Database is corrupt. Please contact Adobe Customer Service".
I assumed that the files I downloaded had become corrupt, so I logged on and re-downloaded the ADBEPPROCS4_LS7.7z and ADBEPPROCS4_LS7.exe files. I ran ADBEPPROCS4_LS7.exe and it also failed and gave me the same error message. I tried another download from a different page and got the same error again.

I need help.
I just purchased a HP Envy 23 running Windows 8. It came with Adobe Premiere and Elements 11 already installed.
I own Lightroom 3, which I installed very quickly and easily.
I own CS4 Web Premium with the serial number at hand. I insert the disk 1 to install and the error message appears: "Installer Database Corrupt. Contact Adobe Customer Service." After serveral attempts, I resort to researching on this forum.
In the forum, found here: http://forums.adobe.com/thread/1238032 I was asked to go the linked website and download and specifically follow the instructions to install CS4 from the internet. I did what I was told as closely as possible.
I received the same error message: "Installer Database Corrupt."
I asked if I needed to uninstall Elements 11 before trying to install CS4 but haven't received a response. Actually, now Adobe won't let me sign on with my password and when I request for a new one it doesn't send me a confirmation email so I have resorted to making a new username.
I called Adobe about the issue with the error and was directed back here to the forum because they do not have phone service support for CS2, CS3, CS4, or CS5 because it is "old" technology. I am loosing lots of work time because I can't seem to get a quick response to my questions here on the forum.
I found another forum saying that I need to rename the file "caps.db." to "xcaps.db" and it will install just fine. I did what it said, looking for any and every folder in both premiere and elements to rename anything that began with "caps" After doing so, I still got the error message.
What I need to know is:
1. How can I install CS4 Web Premium either by disk or internet without getting an error.
2. Must I totally uninstall Elements and Premiere to get CS4 installed? I really don't want to do that since I paid for them with the purchase of my computer.
I'd really like some answers. Thanks.You're going to need to be more specific about what I am supposed to do because I'm very unfamiliar with computer lingo. I don't know what an OEM is and I am unsure about these backup disks you are referring to. The expertise on this forum is the only lifeline I have to fixing this Adobe issue so I really want to try my best here to get things resolved. I've not heard of deleting caps.db and haven't heard of anything to do with medai.db files before. I'm supposed to delete these instead of renaming caps?

I do and have had it installed on my Win 7/64 laptop for over a year with no issues. Simply replaced my desktop and installing copy 2 on it per license.I'm guessing that your new PC came pre loaded with some later versions of adobe Elements or Premiere? I had to uninstall everything Adobe. I had a newer version of Premiere installed and that was what was causing the issue. Once I uninstalled Premiere and the rest of the installed Adobe components using the windows installer (in control panel), I deleted the Adobe directory in Program Files. I then restarted the PC and retried the install. It worked just fine after that. Adobe also has a "cleaner" tool that is referred to in the post by kglad above. It didn't work for me but it's worth a shot to save you having to uninstall everything.

I checked the earlier log file. It seemed recorded with error and fatal, when I first experienced with the message titled. Please see the messages below.
Moreover, after running a cleaner program, there was no error and fatal message in a log file.

Need help with PC build for use with Photoshop CS4 Extended - Have I made the right choices?

I'm very new to the inner workings of a PC...this will be first time building one from scratch. I know enough to be dangerous but not enough to be confident. I will use the PC primarily for editing, secondarily for iTunes management. I've heard that I should have, at the very least, an SSD for PS, other apps and the O/S. I'll also have a hard drive for data storage. Do I need yet another SSD for scratch? If so, any recs for one? Also, my current build (which does not include any SSDs) is about $800. What can I skinny down, without sacrificing a huge amount of speed/performance? I am looking for major guidance here...I'm ready to order, but I keep second-guessing my choices. I want to make sure I get this right the first time around. I want this machine to last me a good long while. Any help at all will be HUGELY appreciated!

AndreaMake sure the motherboard is the third revision as the earlier two had problems with the i5-2500K (Sandy Bridge)
I prefer Asus motherboards but doesn't mean the Gigabyte is a problem. (I note that it scored 4 eggs...)
May not make a difference in Photoshop but for Premiere the Geforce video cards with GDDR5 are preferred.
The LiteOn iHas 224 does lightscribe which is a nice touch for clients/gifts.
There is no room to save as I would consider your build minimum specs for a nice photoshop experience.
As for SSD drives...my research of reviews and articles makes me feel the technology is not ready for mission critical work. So if you are running a business then I recommend not using SSD drives. Rather look at Raptor 10,000 rpm drive for Windows and Photoshop and use the Spinpoint for storage. If not business then I've read the intel x25 SSD drives are solid but I have no personal experience with them.

Help! Wanted to install this on my new PC. I had no problems originally installing it on my older PC. I have disks...but can't get past disk #1. i don't want to deactivate it from the old PC, if I can't get it back.

RosemaryProblem solved. Mine was a new machine and came with Adobe premiere elements 10 installed. I went into program/adobe/adobe elements 10 directory and found a caps.db file. Renamed to xcap and wallah….cs 4 installed no problem.
Thanks Jeff re the caps file, I did not see that conflict mentioned anywhere on corrupt install info. The new machine bit me as I knew I didn’t have cs3 installed!

Error Installing Dreamweaver CS4 on Windows 7: Installer Database is Corrupt

I bought a new laptop and would like to install Dreamweaver CS4 on it. It is already running fine on my desktop, being installed back in 1/2011. Both PCs are Windows 7 but the new laptop is Windows 7 Professional. I have downloaded the two install files ADBEDRWVCS4_LS1.7z and ADBEDRWVCS4_LS1.exe multiple ways and to multiple locatons on the laptop. I've run the .exe file multiple ways and extracted to several locations besides the default (c:\users\userid\Desktop\Adobe CS4). After the extract completes and it tries to run setup I get the same message "The Installer Database is corrupt. Please Contact Adobe Customer Service" (which I did and they just gave me another download link I had already tried).
I even copied the folder with the extracted files done on my desktop (where the install had succeeded). And still got the same message when I ran setup.exe on the laptop. I tried running it with a "run as administrator" command prompt, double-clicking in Windows Explorer, start > run and the same thing happens. At least it doesn't appear that it has actually installed anything yet.
I did notice that my new PC has a program called "7-zip 9.20" installed which I do not remember installing and its install date is prior to my purchase of the PC so I'm guessing it came with it (HP Pavilion 15t running Windows 7 Professional 64-bit). The Windows 7 Desktop does not have this program installed. It is available from C|net where it has a good rating. Perhaps setup.exe does further extracting and the 7-zip program is the culprit? This is a long shot.
I searched for others with this problem and found lots of issues installing Dw CS4, but none quite like this.Awesome! That worked! Actually I searched three folders (Program Files, Program Files (x86) & Program Data) for caps.db and found:
c:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Premier Elements\caps.db (dated 9/2/2011)
c:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe\Backup\caps.db
I ignored the first one since it might be needed by the Premier Elements 10 I installed yesterday and changed the name of the other one from caps.db to barb.fix.
I changed the install folder from c:\Program Files\Adobe to c:\Program Files (x86) just in case CS4 is a 32-bit application which I had done before when installing on my Windows7 Desktop. Now that the install has completed I see that I have caps.db files dated 5/5/2014 in
c:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe\caps\caps.db
c:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe\backup\caps.db (barb.fix is still there but is only 26kb vs 3291 kb for the new caps.db)
