When looking at my iCloud photo stream on iPad using iOS 8.1.2, there is no option to save them...only copy, email etc. How can I save them?

how to save photos from iCloud on ipad

DId you tap on the More Button all the way to the right of the activities window and see if it shows up in there? I don't honk it will given the information that you have provided, but it won't hurt to look.
I Can think of no reason why it would not be appearing so try the basics, close the Photos app completely and then reset your iPad. No data is lost when you reset the iPad like this. Look again after you do this.
In order to close apps, you have to drag the app up from the multitasking display. Double tap the home button and you will see apps lined up going left to right across the screen. Swipe to get to the Photos app, then swipe "up" on the app preview thumbnail to close it.
Next, reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.

    Illaas,
I tried the manual method.  I was able to set the music/video to manual and then restarted the entire system.  After restart, I re-attached the ipod touch to the computer.  The sync automatically ran for everything that wasn't set to manual and it completed without a problem.  I then reset the music/video to automatically sync and restarted the entire coputer/ipod set again.  This time when I re-attached the ipod, EVERYTHING synced and there were no problems reported.  I've never had to do this before, but I will keep it in mind if something like this happens again.  Thank you for pointing me to the manual sync.

I don't know why the TV Show Tab would be unresponsive. Try force closing the Videos App, then reset the iPad and try again.

Something else address is why you don't see the videos in the settings, but if you can't get into the TV section of the Videos app, it really doesn't matter yet. Just to be sure, go to Settings>iTunes & App Store>Show All>Videos>OFF. Make sure that is set to OFF.

  • ICloud Photos on my iPad uses too much space

I updated to iOS 8.3 and enabled iCloud Photo on all my devices and have it enabled on my iMac with the latest OSX Yosemite.  Since then, the Photos app on my iPad is taking far too much space even though I have enabled the optimize storage feature on the iPad.  Is there away to reduce the number of Photos available on my iPad without turning off the iCloud Photo feature? Is it possible to view only a subset of all my photos or is it all or none with iCloud?

I had the same thought that it would be nice if I could specify a subset of the photos on my Mac to be included in iCloud Photo Library. There isn't an option and the only work around I have found would be to have to Photos libraries on my Mac -- one with iCloud on and the other with it off. Not an easy solution. More details on how to do that: Adjust the size of your Photos library to work with iCloud Photo Library - Apple Support

  • Hi, in my brand new Ipad 2, when i look into the ipod icon (for music, videos, and so on), in "others", there are no voices like "podcast", " itunesU", "books to listen".. how can i do?

    hi there
when I open the icon "Ipod" or music, the orange one with a note basically, on my brand new Ipad2, if I check in the voice "others", I cannot find podcast, ItunesU,books to listen (audiolibri in italian) and collections; I can see only genres and composers.
    How can I fix this?
    thanks

    thanks for answering me.
i downloaded podcasts from the ipad but I cannot see them any more. I connected my ipad to my mac, synced it and in fact in my itunes (of the mac) i can see what I had downloaded in the ipad...it is quite strange. is there the possibility that podcasts downloaded require some specific software to be seen in the ipad? my ipad has got the latest sw anyway (5.0.1)

  • How Do I Use One PC (Windows) To Run iCloud Photo Stream for Two Users?

How Do I Use One PC (Windows) To Run iCloud Photo Stream for Two Users? I and my wife have two Iphones (iOS 6.1.4) and we want to have use 2 iCloud accounts for one PC.

Disregard the question. The solution has nothing to do with any "Firefox bug". Turns out that my session wasn't being managed properly. Or rather, I was accidentally deleting other users' information when new users logged in. So if I had user 1 and user 2, and user 2 logged in after user 1, some of user 1's information would be deleted, resulting in the errors.
Oops; sorry about the false alarm. :)
(Was hoping to retract the question, but it looks like others have a similar problem.)

  • Shared iCloud Photo Streams - "read only" ?

I am looking for a setting in iPhoto or iCloud so that the people that I have invited only have the right to view my shared album but not to add or delete photos.
This kind of setting is possible with the shared calendars and it would be in my opinion useful for the shared photo stream as well. Is there a setting that I missed? Am I the only one looking for this feature?

You set that option in each shared photo stream individually, when you create the Shared Photo Stream.
You cannot change it for existing streams - only delete the stream and recreate it without the option "Subscribers can post".  The screenshot is for Shared Photo Streams in iPhoto on the Mac, but the corresponding Shared Albums created on iOS devices have a similar option, when you create them.

  • Getting photos back from iCloud Photo Stream

I just thought I would put this here as a way to fix at least one issue with iCloud Photo Stream. This was on my iPhone 4.
My kid plugged my iPhone into my wife's computer. It basically put all her information and set up on to my phone. I finally got it all set back up, but none of my photos or videos from photo stream were showing up on my phone. Everything else came back over, mail and contacts, but the photos did not show up. Usage showed that 2.5 out of my 5G still being used so it looked like they are there somewhere, they just wouldn't sync.
This is how I fixed it. At least somewhat. As of this time my videos have not come back yet, but they were rather large and it may take a while. I will try to update later as to whether they come back or not. All the photos are back.
    > I made sure that iCloud backup was ON, on the iPhone.
    > Turned off Photo Stream sync. This warns you that it will "Delete all photos on your phone". Make sure you dont have anything you care about on the phone currently. If you do, I would backup and then come back. Click Delete.
    > Turned Photo Stream back on.
    > Restart iPhone and plug in so it will be charging and make sure you have a wifi connection.
It may be that you should restart the phone before turning Photo Stream back on, but I actually turned it back on and then restarted. Anyways, this fixed this particular issue I had. Follow at your own risk .
I still think its ridiculous that you cannot view photo stream photos on iCloud.com. I really can't see paying for this service with the lack of features and bugginess.

Are you sure about the videos thing? I have 2.6G used on my iCloud account. The only things being synced were Contacts, Calendars, Reminders, Bookmarks, Photo Stream and Find my iPhone. I only had 50 photos. There's no way that stuff takes 2.6G worth of storage space.
Secondly, I know all about backups. I do Apache webserver support for a very large university. But when something happens spur of the moment that you don't have control over, its very possible to lose stuff. I don't need to be quoted the manual. I was just trying to be helpful and share something that worked for me to get my photos back since there seem to be a large number of people with similar issues.
Frankly I find Apple's software to be extremely frustrating regarding iTunes and iOS. I have been in IT for 15 years and rarely have I found a software set that is so obtuse as iTunes and iOS. The error messages are NOT clear at all, the manual is equally muddy, and, for example in the case of a "Photo Stream" viewer in the iCloud.com, obvious features are COMPLETELY missing.  I cannot imaging actually paying for iCloud with the lack of features it currently has. For as much money and time Apple spends on researching device user friendlyness, I do not understand why their software is so UNuserfriendly.  I am NOT the only one with this opinion.

  • Having trouble with iCloud Photo Stream on a Windows Vista 64 machine.

Having trouble with iCloud Photo Stream on a Windows Vista 64 machine.  Can you tell me why Photo Stream will not stay enabled.  When I reboot, it will disable not to mention that it will not get any pushed photos.  Is there a 64 bit version?

    Hello tw_mama,
I was looking into the issue you are experiencing and found an article that may shed some light on the subject. It's called iCloud: Account troubleshooting found here: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3988
    This section in particluar:
I get an "Unsupported Apple ID" error when I try to sign in to iCloud from my iPhone, iPad or iPod touch.
Depending on how you created your Apple ID, you may not be able to create an iCloud account with your current Apple ID. If your Apple ID works in the iTunes Store, App Store, Game Center, FaceTime, or with other Apple Services, your Apple ID should work for iCloud. Also, if you created your Apple ID while you applied for a job at jobs.apple.com, your Apple ID should work for iCloud. If you cannot use your Apple ID with any Apple Services, it might not be compatible with iCloud. Contact iCloud Support for assistance.
    All the best,
    Sterling

  • My iCloud Photo Stream is not syncing correctly to my Windows 8.1 laptop or my Windows 7 PC.

I have been going through the forums for the last few weeks and nothing has helped.  Both computers are x64 bit.
    Problems I am experiencing
    A. Windows 7 PC has not synced photo stream since September 25
    B. Windows 8.1 laptop has not synced since a little before that.
    C. I can't upload any photos (.jpegs) to the photo stream.  An error pops up saying that they cann't be uploaded as they are not in a format supported by iCloud, even though they are jpegs.
    D. Photos are syncing ti my ipad 3 perfectly fine, so clearly there is a problem with my computers but I am totally stumped.
I have un-installed, deleted all icloud photo stream folders, restarted and then re-installed the iCloud control panel on both computers, and it has created new folders and re-synced maybe 30 photos before it stopped again.
I have uninstalled every single Apple program on my Windows 8.1 laptop and reinstalled iTunes, iCloud and Quicktime and that didn't help.
I have toggled the Photo Stream on/off button in setting on my iphone, and that seemed to kick start the sync on my Windows 7 PC this morning, so far I've got 70 photos on my Windows 7 PC and that's where it has stopped but its a really random selection, and doesn't include the photos I took yesterday or today.
Two of my colleagues at work where my Windows 7 PC is located - their photo streams are working fine, both using ios7 and icloud control panel, however their computers are x32 bit.
I have also simply logged out and signed in again multiple times, however that doesn't do anything.
I have unticked the "read-Only" permissions on my photo icloud stream folder, but that didn't help either.
I have followed the troubleshooting from here: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3989 - however that also did not help.
I have tried changing the folder path for iCloud photo stream, however that did not help either.
I tried the steps from someone who said they spoke to an Apple rep (steps copied from forum and I put them in italic) on this forum: https://discussions.apple.com/thread/5381738
Anyway, the Apple rep had me sign out of iCloud CC on my PC.
Then on each iOS devices Settings/iCloud/Delete Account.
    Confirmed all the warnings.
Then re-entered my iCloud id and password on the iOS device.
Things restarted and the iOS Photo Streams got loaded with the number of photos that
    iCloud has.
Signed in on iCloud on the PC. It synced the same way.
Tried taking pictures on the iPhone and iPad. They synced everywhere.
    So I'm back in business.
I just deleted everything on my iOS devices when I exited iCloud.
My interest is the PC syncing when I take a photo on my iPhone.
ME: Okay so these steps again refreshed the photostream on my iPhone 5.  I can see that the photos I took yesterday and today have been uploaded to the photo stream as I can see them there on my device.  I have also now signed back into iCloud on my Windows 7 PC and it is slowly syncing again, but just recognising the same photos it downloaded previously as per Step 3 which I did just earlier this morning.
I have also just tried uploading photos via the upload folder from my windows 7 PC, and they uploaded perfectly.
This is really, really frustrating.  I've tried everything I can find on these forums but nothing has helped fix the issue 100%.
Can anyone offer something else I can try to reslove this issue?

Hi all.  I can’t tell you how to solve your iCloud 3.x issues.  Heck, I don’t think they’re even solvable.
But if you had a previous version of iCloud that was working correctly then I can definitely tell you how to solve the “iCloud Photo Stream is not syncing correctly to my Windows 7 PC” problem.  …without even a re-boot.
Log out of iCloud 3.0 and uninstall it.
Open My Computer and then open your C:\ drive.  Go to Tools/Folder Options and click on the View tab.  Select the “Show hidden…” radio button and click on OK.
    Open the Users folder.
    Open your user folder
    Open ProgramData (previously hidden folder)
Open the Apple folder – not the Apple Computer folder.
    Open the Installer Cache folder
In Details view sort on Name
Open the folder for the newest entry for iCloud Control Panel 2.x – probably 2.1.2.8 dated 4/25/2013
Right click on iCloud64.msi and select Install.
When finished, the synching between iCloud and your PC will be back to working perfectly as before the 3.0 fiasco.  The pictures will be synched to the same Photostream folder as before the “upgrade”.  Now all you need to do is wait until Apple/Microsoft get this thing fixed and working before you try the 3.x upgrade again.
I think the iCloud 3.0 software was written by the same folks who wrote healthcare.gov with the main difference being that healthcare.gov might eventually be made to work.
For those of you who hate to go backwards, think of it as attacking to the rear.  Which would you rather have, the frustration of no synching or everything working on an older version?
    Good luck…

my iPhone was stolen last night and I'm trying to recover all my photos from that phone and get them on my mac laptop. The iCloud photo stream only imported 1,000 photos from my stolen phone. How can I retrieve all of my other photos?

You have to reset the device to Factory Settings in order to restore it from an iCloud backup. You probably want to back it up as is before you do this.
To do the reset after you have backed up the current device, go to Settings>Reset>Reset all Content & Settings. This will erase the device. If you are signed onto iCloud with Find My iPhone turned on, go to Settings>iCloud and scroll to the bottom to sign out of iCloud before you do the reset.
Once you have reset your device, you will set it up like a new phone. When it asks if you want to restore it from an iCloud backup, select the backup you want to restore it from.
    Cheers,

I can't view the photos in photo stream. When i click on the photo stream, automatically it goes back to home. Why is this happening? How do i resolve?

If older photos are missing it may be because photo stream photos are only held in iCloud for 30 days.  After that they are removed from iCloud but will remain (up to 1000 photos) on your device until deleted.  Also, only photos taken after enabling photo stream are added to your photo stream, and only when the camera is closed, your device is connected to wifi and you have at least 20% battery life remaining.
To transfer the missing photos you can either create a shared photo stream containing them and invite yourself to it (see http://help.apple.com/icloud/#mmc0cd7e99), import the photos to your computer and sync them to your iPad, or use an app like PhotoSync to transfer them to your iPad over wifi.

  • Understand iCloud photo streaming

There some info that I think I already get it and I will appreciate if anyone can confirme it:
    1) Pic share in "iCloud"
1.1 - It stays there pics taken in the last 30 days until a limit of 1000 pic. If after 30 days I don't reach the 1000 pic, imagine I only have 500 pics, the pics with 31 days will be remove anyway?
1.2 - Videos are not send to the photo stream
1.3 - Pics are not send in there max resolution
    2) iPhoto and iDevices
2.1 - When I open iPhoto i have "Share - iCloud". The pics there are in there max resolution?
2.2 - When I sincronize the pic on my iDevice to iPhoto I lose my filters, how can I avoid that?
2.3 - After I sincronize my iDevice with iPhoto I stay with 2 versions of the pic, the one in "Share - iCloud" and the other one that was trasfer from my iDevice to iPhoto?
    3) iCloud Drive and iOS 8
3.1 - Why there is not synchronization between the data that are in iCloud iOS 7 and iCloud iOS 8, there was deep changes in how the data was organize?
3.2 - In iCloud Drive we will have acess to the pic in a folder?
3.3 - For what I understand in WWDC 14 "Every photo you take on all your devices (73min)" - That is not already happening?
3.4 - iPhoto Cloud Library - "All your photos and videos, Original format & resolution, Uses your iCloud storage" - So we will lose the "space" of 1000 pic that are not counting as data and we will only have 5Gb (if we don't have a plan) for everything?
    Thanks in advance!

1.1 Correct, photos older than 30 days are removed from iCloud whether or not you have reached the 1000 photo limit.
1.2 Videos are not included in My Photo Stream, but short videos (5 min. or less) can be added to a shared stream.
1.3 Photos in My Photo Stream are stream to computers a full resolution, but are stream to iOS devices at a lower resolution.  Shared stream photos are always at a lower resolution.
2.1 My Photo Stream photos in iPhoto are full resolution.  Shared streams aren't.
2.2 I don't think so, but this should change this fall with the introduction of iCloud Photo Library.
2.3 Not sure I understand the question, but if you have set iPhoto automatically import your photo stream photos to your library (in iPhoto>Preferences>iCloud), you have two copies of your photo stream photos - one in the photo stream section and one in your events.
    3. Don't know about iOS 8 and it's against the terms of use to discuss beta software in these forums anyway.  All that has been publicly shared by Apple is in articles such as http://www.apple.com/ios/ios8/ and https://www.apple.com/icloud/preview/.

  • Update iCloud photo stream

I am subscribed to my friends iCloud photo stream, but iPhoto refuses to update the stream when my friend add more pictures. Can I update the stream manually or how do I do? Have tried to unsubscribe and then subscribe again but it only showed her old pictures...

You can't manually update it.  You might try going to iCloud>Preferences>iCloud, uncheck Photo Sharing, close iPhoto and restart your Mac, then go back and check Photo Sharing again.  That might "jump start" things again.

  • TS3989 iCloud, Photo Stream

I've tried all your suggestions here and my Photo Stream still doesn't work. I'm using iPhoto 11, I'v updated all my devices to the latest software versions on all my devices and it still doesn't work. I have not upgraded to Mountain Lion yet and I recently purchased an iPhone 5. What is the problem?

Well ... I can't get Photo Stream to turn on with iPhoto on my Mac.
From the various instructions from Markwmsn immediately above, I have, or have done the first six points:
    * Device(s) on iOS5.1 or later
    * Mac(s) on 10.7.3 or later and iPhoto 9.2.2 or later (10.8.2 and 9.4 for Shared Photo Streams).
    * All device(s) and Mac(s) are signed in to the same iCloud account.
    * On the iOS device(s), Settings > iCloud > Photo Stream is "On" (and Shared Photo Streams if desired)
    * On the iOS device(s), Settings > Photos & Camera > My Photo Stream is "ON" (and Shared if desired)
    * On the Mac(s), System Preferences > iCloud > Photo Stream is active
But when I try to do the next step ...
    * On the Mac(s), iPhoto > Preferences > Photo Stream > Enable Photo Stream is checked.
... when I try to check the box for "Enable Photo Stream", I get an error message:
"Sign in to Photo Stream using iCloud.  In order to use Photo Stream, you have to be signed into your iCloud account in System Preferences.  Cancel / Continue."
BUT in the System Preferences, I AM ALREADY SIGNED INTO my iCloud account, and indeed it is working fine for all the other features (Contacts, Calendar, Notes, etc.)
