When magnifiing photo ,photo goes black

after creating album ,i can see all the photos in small but as soon as i click on one photo to see it bigger ,the photo goes to the big size ,but full black

There are several possible causes for the Black Screen issue
1. Permissions in the Library: Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Include the option to check and repair permissions.
2. Minor Database corruption: Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild.
3. A Damaged Photo: Select one of the affected photos in the iPhoto Window and right click on it. From the resulting menu select 'Show File (or 'Show Original File' if that's available). Will the file open in Preview? If not then the file is damaged. Time to restore from your back up.
4. A corrupted iPhoto Cache: Trash the com.apple.iPhoto folder from HD/Users/Your Name/Library/ Caches...
5. A corrupted preference file: Trash the com.apple.iPhoto.plist file from the HD/Users/ Your Name / library / preferences folder. (Remember you'll need to reset your User options afterwards. These include minor settings like the window colour and so on. Note: If you've moved your library you'll need to point iPhoto at it again.)
If none of these help:
As a Test:
Hold down the option (or alt) key key and launch iPhoto. From the resulting menu select 'Create Library'
Import a few pics into this new, blank library. Is the Problem repeated there?

  • Photo goes black when editing it

    Hi,
I acknowledge this is a fairly common matter, but let me try to share my on experience.
For the past few days, I have been importing photos in my iPhoto library either from .jpg docs or brand new ones from my digital camera.
Each time I try to edit one of those, the image goes black. Surprisingly, if I try to crop a picture, the image comes back to view !?
    I have unsuccessfully tried to:
    - repair iPhoto library permissions
    - reconstruct library
using the Cmd+alt keys when lauching iPhoto.
I have NEVER experienced such a painful behaviour in the past, as I have to go back and forth between the editing and normal modes to see the results of my editing.
Any educated advice would be appreciated.
    Mac mini Core 2 Duo - 2 Go RAM - OS X 10.7.5 - iPhoto 9.4.1

The fact that you can edit those photos and get them to display correctly via a new, modified file indicates that the originals are damaged somehow.
Select one of the thumbnails and use the File ➙ Reveal in Finder ➙ Original menu option to take you to the original file located inside the library.  Copy the file to the desktop and try the following:
1 - download Convert to JPG and Embed sRGB profile from Toad's Cellar and unzip it.
2 - drag the file from the desktop onto the application.
3 - import the converted files into iPhoto and see if it appears as it should.
If the above works you could run it on each file in the library.  Unfortunately you would have to open each subfolder in the Masters folder and drag the files onto the application.  That will be a lot of manual work.

    Hello Dave,
Congratulations on your new Apple TV.  Also, thank you for the details about the issue you are experiencing when using AirPlay on your Apple TV.
I recommend reviewing the steps in the section titled "Troubleshooting performance issues with AirPlay or AirPlay Mirroring" in the following article (you can skip the steps that refer to a Mac since you are experiencing it on your iPad).  I suggest reviewing the full section, but this step specifically stands out to me for the issue you described:

  • Edited photo goes black!

    Hi!
I can't find any solution in the web..... somebody can help?
It happens with not all the photos, it's randomly, mostly in raw but in JPG too.
Sometimes, when I edit some adjustment (anything) in some photo, and with the photo maximized (in window or full screen mode, it's the same), the photo goes completely black!. And after that happens, any photo that I open it looks completely black. If I close the photo and see in the small browser it looks ok, but anytime I maximize the photo (or any other one after that) looks black.
But, if I close the Aperture and open again, it works ok and the photo has the adjustments ok and i can use it in anyway and all the photos. Until te next time, if it happens again, with that or another photo. And then I close Aperture and open again and continue working.
So, it looks like a representation in the screen problem. It doesn't affect the image file. It's some kind of rendering problem with the image in big size.
    Any idea ????
Of course, I tried rebuilding the library, etc.
And I have a Macbook Pro 13 Early 2011 (Intel HD 3000), with latest Mac OS X 10.9.3 (13D65), latest updates of everything, and latest Aperture 3.5.1
    Thanks!

    Good morning.
It sound like there may be something happening within the iPhoto database that is causing some issues. Fortunately, we have an article that goes over how to rebuild that library. I would reccomned following the steps listed in the article below.

  • When using coverflow screen goes black

Having installed 7.1.1.5 of itunes I now find that my computer crashes (with the screen first going black) when i flick through more than a couple of album covers. Have not had this problem before on my pc, is this something that can be fixed?
      Windows XP

The only thing I can suggest is that you check that you have the latest DirectX
    http://www.microsoft.com/windows/directx/default.mspx
    And drivers:
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=300252
There is an Apple article on coverflow but it doesn't really adddress your problem:
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=304402
When you say your computer crashes do you mean you get the Blue Screen of Death (BSOD). If so post the error numbers and the names of any files mentioned.
If you don't see the error message you can do the follwing:
    1) Open your system control panel (Start->Control Panels->System).
    2) Select the "Advanced" tab.
    3) Click the "Startup and Recover" section's "Settings" button
    4) Verify that under "System Failure" the "Automatically restart" checkbox is not checked.

  • Apple TV stops streaming via AirPlay when iPhone 6 Display goes black

    Hi,
when my iPhone gets locked and the Display goes black (standby) after 2 Minutes, my AirPlay stream to my Apple TV 3. Gen stops playing. Only when i set the standby/lock time time to never instead of 2 Minutes (and the screen is on all the time) the Stream wont stop.
Sometimes the stream does not stop, wenn my iPhone Screen goes black.
This also happens with an iPad Mini or using an Lightning to HDMI Adapter instead the Apple TV.
    I have no idea why.
    Please help.
    Best regards
    Sebastian

On a sidenote, I also have an ipad and normally homesharing with the ipad works fine, but after having an apple tv incident, I have to restart the mac for homesharing to work with the ipad

  • When On Hold Screen Goes Black

O.K., the last hour I've been on hold with an on-line travel site without reaching a live person.  The problem is my Droid 4 went black after a few minutes.  The call remained connected but there was no way to activate the screen without ending the call by pressing the phone activate button which cuts off the call.  None of the other buttons worked.  With some companies phone customer service wait times 30 minutes or better not being able to get back to the home screen without cutting off the call is a real problem.  Is there a setting I should change/use to keep this from happening?  BTW, the on-line TA hung up after an hour of having me wait for a CS rep without getting one, so I'm not having a great evening.
    Thanks for your help.

Thanks!  I went to Accessibility and took off the Power Button ends call but the screen still goes black and there is no way to reactivate the screen.  I also checked the accessibility settings for other options but there isn't anything that would allow me to see the screen after it goes black.  I've set "show dialpad settings" to All Calls but it still goes black.

  • Photos going black in iMovie 11, help!

    Hi guys,
first post so please be gentle.
I have a MBA with iPhoto 11 and iMovie 11 runnion Lion,  I made a movie with video clips and some photos and all was working fine,  photos imported from their event folder in iPhoto.
Now today i decide to add a couple more photos to the movie, in the filmstrip view i can see my photos and give them ken burns etc, however when i look in the movie preview window when it gets to the photo it just has a still from the preceeding video.  This is the same if i export the video to itunes etc.
when i try to add a subtitle to the photo normally you can see the photo in the background however now i only see black.
have tried editting the photo alittle in iPhoto as mentioned elsewhere but that doesnt help.
    Thanks in advance
    Tigger

And 7.83Gb on a 60Gb hard. Then I think that there might be problems.
As I use to recommend a minimum of 25Gb free space - and on a MBA with a SSD-drive on 60Gb this will not match.
I wonder if this is at all possibly to get to work. As MBA usually do not have any FireWire connections and then not the possibility to use an external hard disk as Start-Up (Mac OS) HD. It will not boot via USB/USB2.
If You got Thunderbolt - that might work - BUT I don't know if one can boot via this ? (ask at Apple Store)
And if You locate iPhoto library to any other HD - iMovie will not find it.
The needed space is for iMovie and Mac OS temp. files - and they too can not be addressed externally.
One working - but expensive solution is to upgrade the 60Gb drive to a larger one - BUT THIS might be anything from impossibly to EXPENSIVE.
I think this is way out of my arsenal of solutions - Sorry
Hopefully more resourceful people will fill in.
    Yours Bengt W

  • When typing the screen goes black PS CC

When trying to add text to a photo in PS CC my screen turns black and I can't see what I am typing.  How do I fix this?  I haven't been able to use PS hardly at all since I subscribed back in December.  I am having to use PS Elements 10 and I want to use and learn my PS CC.

What operating system?  Is it Windows 8.1?   Are your video card drivers up to date from the GPU maker's website?

  • What do you do when your iphone screen goes black

My phone died and i started charging it and when i did it charged but the screen was black but it vibrated like i was getting text messgaes but nothing would show up

Have you tried resetting your iPhone?
Reset: Press the Home and On/Off buttons at the same time and hold them until the Apple logo appears (about 10 seconds).
    No data will be lost.

  • Laptop screen goes black when HDMI connected to TV

I have a Thinkpad Edge 431. I've set it up in Control Panel to duplicate both the laptop and the external monitor when connected by HDMI. It works fine.
When I connect it to my TV, the laptop screen black. The TV displays "No Signal" until the HDMI connection is made. When the laptop screen goes black, so does the TV screen. No sound or picture.
This was working fine until recently, and I can't figure out if I somehow changed settings to make this happen. It's clear that to me that the HDMI port on the laptop works, as does the cable.
The TV port works (I've switched the connection on the cable box to each HDMI port on the TV, to make sure they work).
I can't change anything in Control Panel when I connect the HDMI, because the screen is black.
    I've updated the Lenovo system.
The other relevant piece of info: the Intel Graphics Card control panel says that Monitor/TV Settings are not supported (although until recently, I could easily display the computer on the TV).
Can anyone help with this? Thanks!

No video and audio signals to the tv connected

  • IMac 2011 screen unexpectedly goes black (to sleep), won't wake

I've been having an intermittent problem. I'm using an iMac (late 2011) with 10.7.3. I'm doing things on the computer or some process is going on when the screen instantly goes black (no dimming first). If a video was playing, I can still hear it playing, but pushing keys on the keyboard or mouse or pad does nothing to wake the screen. Sometimes pushing the power button a number of times will get the screen to come on, sometimes it won't. When the screen goes black, if an external drive was running and then stops, I can sometimes get the screen to come to live. Sometimes this black screen happens when I'm burning a DVD; when the DVD is finished, I can bring the screen to life. I thought one of my two external drives was bad, so I disconnected it. That seemed to help (though verifying the disk revealed no problems). But a few minutes ago, the screen instantly went black again; no dimming first. There have been times I thought this was associated with a new bit of software, but then it returns even after I delete the suspect software. Sometimes I have to use the power button to shut down the iMac then restart it. Once, I had to unplug and replug the iMac before I could get the computer to respond and the screen to return to life. I don't know if this is a hardware problem (internal or external), a software problem, or some combination...or something I haven't thought of, at all. Very annoying. Verified the internal drive, repaired permissions; no problems noted there.

Exactly the same issue here - same machine and OS. got so bad now that it blacks almost as soon as it comes on. Over the past few weeks I also experienced the flickering screen that others have complained about.  The black screen only occured after installing latest update (7.3) - and I only installed this after earlier problems with the update reported by many users were sorted - but the flickering happened before so may be not relevant.
What's happening when you press the power button a couple of times is probably that you have 'use power button to put computer to sleep' selected in System Prefs. Henmce, 1 push puts it to sleep and 2nd wakes it up.
I have done all the usual checks plus power down, unplugged for 20 seconds and then restarted to reset the SMC (System Managemenmt Controller) but problem has recurred - normally after sleep.
Aplle did have a large batch of faulty LG screens apparently so maybe this is the poblem. Otherwise maybe graphics card issue,
Mine's off to a service centre tomorrow whilst it's still under warranty... will update when I get it back

  • Screen goes black immediately after booting up

Screen goes black immediately after booting up....except when just using the battery. If I plug in the cord, the screen goes immediately black, yet it is clear the computer is still working. There have been no hardware changes. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks.
