When making Path, Option click NEAR handle should grab handle, NOT make new anchor

When making a path in Photoshop, if I have the basic Pen Tool, I often use Option on my Mac keyboard to temporarily get the Convert Point Tool, in order to adjust the handle protruding from an anchor point. I find it extremely frustrating that it will INSTEAD lay down another anchor point if I do not click PRECISELY on the end of the handle I intended to grab. Can't Photoshop just grab the handle as long as I am in close proximity AND am holding down Option? Since I AM holding Option, it should lock me out of adding additional anchor points.
I can't think of anything else I would want to do in this situation, in other words, I don't think it would be in conflict with any other feature.

It seems like I might want to second this one, as I remember complaining about something similar when working with paths recently...
(after trying...) No, it wasn't that, as the cursor change is a good enough sign of what my click will do... bummer... I need to lay down notes again!
About the near handles situation, what would be useful to have is a contextual menu (even a modifier-led contextual menu) to select the kind of anchor point we want, to convert a curve to a line, etc.

How to re download apps from the Mac App Store:
Open the App Store. From the menu bar click Store > Sign In
Click Purchases from the top of the App Store window.
Select which apps you want to re download. Then right or control click where you see Installed then click Install.
Make sure and use the same Apple ID used for the original purchase.

The iphone 5 can only be located if connected to a data or mobile network. If in Airplane mode or switched off, it can't be found.

My iPhoto images won't show, and Photo Library Repair will not open when I command-Option-click on the iPhoto icon.

When I click on any of those individual albums, for a brief split second I can see the images displayed, but then they revert to this:

I have real a lot of posts that say to click Command+Option while opening iPhoto and this will open the Photo Library Repair window, but... this is not happening. Each time I do it, iPhoto just opens as it normally does. I've tried about 10 times, closing iPhoto completely. I've tried through the dock icon and through the applications listing. Neither will open anything other than regular old iPhoto.
Can anyone help me and suggest what I may be doing wrong, or are there any alternative was to open Photo Library Repair so I can rebuild my library? I really don't want to lose all of those photos, especially since some are really important and irreplaceable.

Be sure you're holding the correct keys and that you're holding them long enough. Depress them before clicking on iPhoto and don't let go until the menu shows up.
If you don't want to lose those photos, make a back up now. Hopefully it's not too late.

Firefox 4 was set on "Open new windows in a new tab instead." I unclicked that to test opening in a new window. Decided to go back to the tab option, clicked on it but it does not engage and Firefox 4 continues to open in a new window. Is this a glitch?

I did try rebooting, no go. If anyone knows a way to get that option working, it would be appreciated. Thanks.

I had the same problem, but was able to fix it somewhat.
# Open the about:config page.
# Set the ''browser.link.open_newwindow.restriction'' setting to 0 (= zero).
On my machine this will open new windows in a new tab. However, it switches to the new tab regardless of the setting ''"When I open a link in new tab, switch to it immediatly"''.

Bug in Flash Professional CC when launching debug launcher xml file handle not released

There appears to be a bug in either Adobe Flash Professional CC, or ADL when launching debug launcher for an AIR application Flash Professional CC automatically generates or updates the XML app descriptor file. The bug is that Flash Professional is not immedately releasing the file handle to the app descriptor XML file.
This bug was introduced in Flash Professional CC (Windows). It did not occur in CS5.5 or CS5.
The question is whether this is a bug related to the ADL, or if this bug is related specifically to Flash Professional CC (Windows).
Either way, where and how do I appropriately report this bug?

Thank you for the solution. It is not what I expected, but it might look like a solution that "could" be applied.
There is still one problem with this approach. If I still use a movie with radial gradient within the bitmap, the same exact problem could occur again.
I was trying to understand if I did something wrong in my code, or it was a bug in the Flash software. I still find weird that I get different results by drawing a movie clip at different positions on a bitmap object. How can the drawing position change if the movie clip is drawn or not drawn? Why does it make mathematical patterns? I guess it has something to do with the precision numbers.
Meanwhile, I did a few extra tests. I tried a new approach with Blur and Glow effects. That is not exactly what I want, but it seems to create a transparent gradient. I might consider this approach if the basic radial gradient does not work. I also created a gradient transparency circle bitmap in Photoshop that I imported into my movie clip. It worked. So, at the moment I have two solutions that seem to be working.
I would appreciate if you could investigate the original problem. It looks like there is a problem in the rendering of Flash. Workarounds are fine sometimes, but I do not expect to developer programs on workarounds.

When you have a problem with one particular site, a good "first thing to try" is clearing your Firefox cache and deleting your saved cookies for the site. Note: this is likely to log you out, so finish up whatever you are working on first.
1. Clear Firefox's Cache

2. If needed, delete the site's cookies here

Some sites appear to be incompatible with Firefox 5. The difficulty is tracking down the problem. To see whether it is caused by the new stricter HTML parser in Firefox 4+, you can turn that off. Please save any unfinished work first.

Unless you have installed an incompatible add-on, Firefox 3.6 should pick up where you left off. If there are serious issues, please post back with details.

When/how do you move files off of Hard Drive to make new room.

Maybe this is simple; I understand so far that you can choose the Library folder for iTunes and that that is the source of all songs, album cover art, everything that iTunes needs to display all the information for tunes. Please correct me if I am wrong on that.

You can move it but you do not need to "start fresh".
Just move the folder to the external drive and use it for everything.
No need to use the internal drive.
1 Quit iTunes.
2 Move the entire iTunes folder including music to the external drive.
3 Restart iTunes holding (Shift-Windows, Option-Mac).
4 Select Choose library. Select the library in the folder you just moved.
5 Move the old iTunes folder to the trash but do not empty it.
6 Restart iTunes normally and verify the songs work. If they do, empty the trash.

Over 100,000 songs and it will start to slow down.

Address book file (.mab) is in profile but when i view address book, nothing shows and i can not enter new addresses.

aftrer the last update my addrerss book is not visable. if i create a new address book i can add names and addresses to it but my old address book, which is in the same folder does not open.

You may be having a problem with some Firefox add-on that is hindering your Firefox's normal behavior. Have you tried disabling all add-ons (just to check), to see if Firefox goes back to normal?

How to Capture the event when minimized button is clicked of a JFrame?

In my SWING application, I want to do something when the minimized button is clicked. But not able to understand how to do that.
My basic requirement is like that, if I minimize the JFrame, it should be minimized to system tray with an icon. Again when the icon is clicked, the frame should be maximized in the Windows.
Also, how to make my JFrame visible/invisible. If I close it, then the process will got killed... that I don't want to happen. Should I us setVisible(true/false) for the frame... Please suggest...

Transparency probe when making pdf

Hello,
Have just got a new laptop and running cs5 on all but indesign which is cs3. I have a piece of artwork which has drop shadow and when I make a pdf on my old machine the shadow is fine and everything else but when making a pdf of the same artwork running cs3 on the new laptop which is a macbook pro intel i7 running lion I have issues with the drop shadow which is looking muddy and the text box background is showing asa tint! Have tried changing transparency flattener etc to no avail but the prob does go away when saving a as adobe 4 pdf 1.3 instead of adobe 5. The pdf looks fine apart from thin white keylines around the text boxes! Am missing something here but dont know what! Help!

Sounds like you’re using Preview on your Mac instead of Acrobat.
Preview can’t handle advanced PDFs.
