Firefox does not have that type of option. Some "enter password" pages
may give such a warning.
You can look for a utility program that places something on the monitor.

  • Why don't you display CAPS LOCK when my caps lock is on?

    I prefer Mozilla Firefox to Internet Explorer EXCEPT FOR ONE thing. Having complicated passwords requires uppercase and lowercase letters. Internet Explorer lets me know when I have my caps lock on. Mozilla Firefox does not so I end up having one heck of a time typing in passwords wherever I go. Does Mozilla Firefox have the CAPS LOCK ON notification but I haven't found the place to turn it on?

  • Performance problem when using CAPS LOCK piano input

    Dear reader,
    I'm very new to Logic and am running into a performance problem when using the CAPS LOCK-piano-keyboard for input of an instrument: when I'm not recording everything is fine and the program instantly responds on my keystrokes, but as soon as I go into record-mode there is sometimes a delay in the response-time (so I press a key and it takes up to half a second longer before the note is actually played).
    Is there anything to do about this to improve performance (for example turning of certain features of the application), or should I never use the CAPS LOCK keyboard anyway and go straight for an external MIDI-keyboard?
    Thanks and regards,
    Tim Metz

    Does your project have Audio tracks and just how heavy it is, how many tracks? Also, what kind of Software Instrument do you use?

  • Does TouchSmart keyboard show when the Cap Lock is on?cc=us

    When I turn on the Cap Lock key I do not find where it tells me that the key is on lock.  I find this to be a great problem when I need to enter a password.

    You need to install the OSD/Keyboard software, then it will show in the system tray if the capslock is on.

  • Number lock and caps lock are stuck

    help! number lock key seems to be stuck!
    i can only write lower case letters when the number lock is on and the caps lock is on.
    when the caps lock is off, i type capitals.
    when the numbers lock is off, only the number keys work on the keyboard.
    how do i get the keyboard back to normal?

    Hi bluecrop, and a warm welcome to the forums!
    Tough to tell from here, but may be some Corruption.
    One way to test is to Safe Boot from the HD, (holding Shift key down at bootup), run Disk Utility in Applications>Utilities, then highlight your drive, click on Repair Permissions, Test for action in Safe Mode...
    PS. Safe boot may stay on the gray radian for a long time, let it go, it's trying to repair the Hard Drive.
    Reboot, test again.
    If it only does it in Regular Boot and not in Safe Mode, then it is likely some 3rd party add-on, Check System Preferences>Accounts>Login Items window to see if it or something relevant is listed.
    Also see what is in System Preferences>Other Row.
    Also look in these if they exist, some are invisible...
    /private/var/run/StartupItems
    /Library/StartupItems
    /System/Library/StartupItems
    Another way to test is create a new Account, login to that one & see if it happens there.

  • Symbols generated when Caps Lock is in action

    I am trying to figure out how keyboard layouts are defined (for Xorg). I more or less understand the formats of the /usr/share/X11/xkb/symbols/* files but the comportment of the Caps Lock key remain a mystery. How the symbols generated when the Caps Lock key is in action are configured? For example the French keyboard layout has a key that generate é (eacute) and the digit 2 when shift is pressed. When Caps Lock is in action it generates É (Eacute). If i change the eacute by à (aacute) in /usr/share/X11/xkb/symbols/fr then it generates À when Caps lock is pressed. This is logical but how Xorg know that À is the uppercase version of à?

    Hi Abk,
    Please try like this. It works for me.
    declare
      key_pressed  VARCHAR(30) := 'FALSE';
    begin
      key_pressed := :System.Mouse_Button_Shift_State;
               or
      key_pressed := :system.mouse_button_modifiers;
      if upper(key_pressed) = 'CAPS LOCK+' then
         <your logic>
      end if;
    end;Also, are you meeting the condition i wrote above of pressing caps lock along with left mouse click?
    If this doesn't work, try debugging your code. Stop in the when-mouse-click trigger and check if it is going inside the if condition.
    Check what is the value of key_pressed.
    Hope it helps.

  • Is there Cap lock shift lock in Pages for iPad?

    Using pages for iPad is there cap lock/shift lock function. It is very difficult to do headings or posters without this function.

    Go to Settings > General > Keyboard and turn Enable Caps Lock to On. When Enable Caps lock is On then double-tapping the shift key will lock it down (it turns all blue). YOU CAN THEN TYPE ALL CAPS,

  • Kotoeri Caps Lock modifier doesn't work after sleep

    I use Kotoeri Japanese input as my only input system, and under the Kotoeri preferences I have set Caps Lock key function to "When down input romaji". This allows me to keep the Caps Lock key down to type in English, and release it to type in Japanese. However, when I leave the Caps Lock on, close the lid of my MBP and re-open it, the input switches back to Japanese (but the Caps Lock light stays on). I have to double-toggle the Caps Lock to get back to romaji input. The problem also sometimes occurs if I just leave the machine to go to screensaver.
    Is this a bug? If not, does anyone know how I can stop this behaviour?

    Sounds like a bug, but if you know Japanese well you might also ask on the Japanese discussions:

  • CAPS LOCK Behavior on 13" MacBook

    I just purchased a 13" 2.4 GHz Aluminum MacBook, my first Mac coming previously from Windows PC's. I just have a dumb question that I can't find an answer to. On all PC's (and maybe on previous Mac's as well), if your CAPS LOCK key was on, you could hold the SHIFT key down to get lowercase letters without turning off CAPS LOCK. However, this behavior does not work on the new MacBooks, at least not on mine. Is there any way to turn on this behavior either using the SHIFT key or some other key? I could not find anything in any preference settings, and tried the other modifier keys and they did not work either.
    Thanks in advance for any help here.

    Activating caps lock means that the capital letters are locked on. To turn it off, press the caps lock key once again. In order to use both capital and lower case, use the shift key for temporary capital letters instead of the caps lock. The shift key override of active caps lock is a windows thing. -GDF
    Well, of course I understand all of that. The issue is that I have situations where I need to type MOSTLY in CAPS for a long period of time but with lowercase letters thrown in the mix as well. I would hate to have to hold down my shift key for all the caps, or have to continuously turn the CAPS LOCK off to get a lowercase letter or two and then back on again. ALL PC's allow you to use a modifier key (usually SHIFT) to get lowercase letters when the caps lock is on just for this purpose. It surprises me that there is no way to do this on a Mac.

  • Unable to use keyboard without Caps Lock on

    Hi Guys, I gave my keyboard a little bit of a clean the other day (with relevant wipes) and since then my keyboard is not functioning correctly.  It did turn itself on once or twice during the process, so I have clearly hit something I shouldn't have
    The problem I have is that I can't use the keyboard without enabling the CAPS Lock.  Without using the CAPS Lock pressing random keys, produces random effects (mainly functional things) and with the CAPS LOCK on I can type normally, just all in caps (for this I am using my desktop!)
    Troubleshooting to date:-
    Accessibility => Mouse & Trackpad => Enable Mouse Keys (off) always has been
    Accessibilty => Keyboard Preferences => Short Cuts => Restored to Default
    Accessibilty => Keyboard Preferences => Input Sources => British
    Accessibilty => Keyboard Preferences => Modifier Keys => Restored to Default
    I have a setup another user account but the problem persists in all accounts
    I have tried other applications but the problem is replicated
    I have rebooted several times to no effect
    OSX 10.9 (all updates up to date)
    Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks in advance.
    Oh additionally the track pad seems to be doing slighly random things ie standard run click actually brings up sub menus!

    Since no one else is jumping it I’ll suggest the general cures of
    SMC reset

    and PRAM reset

    You have tried quite a few cures so if these don’t work take it to an Apple Genius Bar for a free diagnosis and estimate of repairs.

  • Awesome Window Manager Caps Lock icon

    i just got a thinkpad x120e. there is no led for when the caps lock key is on.
    does anyone know if there is a way to show an icon in the wibox when the caps lock is on?

    You could also check it with a little help from xset
    #!/bin/bash
    # Here's a example in bash, doesn't do much more then just echo on or off
    CAPS_STATE=$(xset q)
    PATTERN='Caps Lock:\s+(on|off)'
    if [[ "$CAPS_STATE" =~ $PATTERN ]]; then
    # Match
    echo ${BASH_REMATCH[1]}
    exit 0
    else
    # Nothing...
    exit 1
    fi
    You could call that shellscript for your widget to get caps lock's state.
    Or you could run xset q directly from lua in your widget and
    take care of it there and have one script less to care about
    Since I haven't done anything else in lua other than the settings
    for awesome.. this can likely be done better
    function caps_is()
    local f = io.popen("xset q")
    for line in f:lines() do
    local _, _, caps_state = string.find(line, 'Caps Lock:%s+(%w+)')
    if caps_state ~= nil then
    f:close()
    return caps_state
    end
    end
    f:close()
    return "unknown"
    end

  • Caps Lock blinking 13 times...

    Hi I have a HP 2000-363NR, when I power up the screen stay black and the Wireless led stays on in orange color and the Caps Lock led blinks 13 times. I check the errors codes and only explain to 6 blinks but mine blinks 13 times. I have tried changing the memory and HD and nothing, what else I can try? Thanks in advance...!

    Hello,
    I understand your laptop will not boot.
    You did mention that the caps lock light blinks 13 times, after that happens does the laptop go off or continues to stay on with just a blank screen does anything significant happen?  Reason why I’m asking because 13 isn’t a normal blink code, now it could be just considered one continuous blink which is normally means the CPU isn’t functional.
    Also do you ever see the HP logo screen or starting windows does anything like that appear?
    Please respond back when you can.
    Thanks

  • T510: Which Lenovo app puts caps lock symbol on screen?

    The caps lock symbol that appears on the sceen when you turn on/off the caps lock key is cute, but it has a tendancy to hang around all the time, even when the caps lock is turned off.  Is there a way of turning this feature off?
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    There's an option for that.
    Right click the desktop > Screen Resolution > Advanced Settings > On-Screen Display tab.
    I think the default may have been changed somewhere along the way, so a hotkey package update might also do the trick.
