Little hard to understand what you are asking. Let me guess that this not an Iphone4S issue. Its a problem with your service provider. Contact them.

Please contact customer service to request assistance with this.
Also, when you say, "My skype number is constantly busy when I am called (and I am not using it!),"
... please note that the Skype Number will not "ring busy" - if you are using Skype, incoming calls would be diverted according to your Tools -> Options settings. The Skype Number provides a phone number for people to reach you, but the number has nothing to do with outbound calls you place.

How to switch Skype number from 3-month plan to an...

A friend initially subscribed to 3-months Skype number plan. Now she would like to change to 1-year subscription. However, there does not seem to be any option to do this. The initial 3 months just passed and an automatic charge appeared on her payment card. There does not seem to be any "modify" subscription option (not even a "cancel" subscription option). There is no Skype/Microsoft support readily available. This is very bad experience for her and it seems to be rather common issue. I am actually surprised by this and have expected more from Skype/Microsoft. Any ideas about how to change the subscription?

As strange as this sounds, the short-term Skype Number contract needs to be cancelled. When the subscription ends, the Skype Number is held in reserve for a period of 90 days, during which timeframe the number can be renewed for an annual term.
If all else fails, please contact Skype customer service for further assistance. I would report to Customer Service that the renewal e-mails were not received - after checking that the account's registered e-mail address is correct! You would not believe the number of enquiries I read where a Skype account's registered e-mail address has fallen into disuse, not updated, and therefore resulting in no communications received from Skype.

Caller identification while using Skype Number

Hi, I live in Canada and set up a Skype Number locates in HongKong to make my friends call me more easily. But soon I found that I could not identify who is the caller when someone is calling my Skype Number.
For instant,
When I log off the Skype App and use "Call Forward" function of Skype, if someone calls my HK's Skype Number, it always displays "+10000123456" and I cannot know who is the caller except I pickup the phone.
While if I run the Skype App in the backgourd of my cell phone, and someone calls my Skype Number, the skype app will pop up but only shows "Unknow Number"
Could you give me some advice to solve this problem?

There may not be much that can be done. Caller ID from the telephone network to your Skype Number is controlled by the telephone carrier(s) where your Skype Number is located (Hong Kong). Not all carriers in all countries send Caller ID information to the Skype Number. When your friends in Hong Kong call each other on their phones, do they see the Caller ID information on those calls? This may not help your situation when receiving calls on your Skype number, but would at least verify that your friends' phones are sending the Caller ID information out when they call someone.

My Skype number appears different to people I call

When I call people on my Skype number the number that shows up on their caller ID is different than my Skype number. When they try to return my call using that number they can't get through. When they use my actual Skype number everything is fine. This is a recent problem. I've had the same Skype number for years and this has never happened before. Now it happens all the time. What's up?

Check: Settings - Phone - Show my Caller ID = On
If this option isn't available, you likely have a CDMA phone, and you will need to contact your cellular provider.

Once you have verified your Caller ID, please remember that your Skype Number may not always appear as Caller ID - the data may not transfer from Skype to the endpoint carrier, whether it be mobile or fixed line, so the call recipient may not see your Skype Number.

What you need to do is sign on to your Skype account, via the Skype website; your Skype Number will appear when you click on the Manage Features tile or link.

Can not access my skype number

I don't know what has happened to my skype number. I am still paying monthly what I thought was the amount to maintain it. When trying to purchase a skype number, my number does not come up as available. Calling the number gives a delayed ringing for two rings and then two fast busy signals.
Who can be contacted that can search my phone number and see if there is a technical problem?

German Skype number abroad

When attempting to sign up for a German phone number Skype tells me that I will have to be a permanent resident in Germany.
However, services like ToggleMobile and TruPhone do not have such a requirement (presumably because they offer mobile / cell phone numbers rather than geographical ones). Still, it's possible to get a fax or voicemail box there for free with a geographic number, so it seems not all service providers have this requirement or enforce it (if it is really a requirement by law - I believe local legal representation is acceptable).
How about offering numbers similar to those service providers?
In this globalized day and age of the Internet, Schengen area and the free trade agreement that's being negotiated between the EU and the US it seems rather odd to still have such 19th century restrictions imposed on us.

Skype Numbers are available only insasmuch as the fixed line carriers provide numbers for Skype to use. If numbers are available for the specific region you wish to locate your Skype Number, great! If not, then we have to choose from the list of numbers provided to us when we set up a Skype Number subscription.

Skype number not working

Evening to all. Purchased skype number yesterday, have gone through what I think is all of the replies, and tried them all, my skype number is still always busy..........please help. Thankyou

By way of reminder, perform your test calls from a mobile or fixed line phone; if you call your Skype Number from Skype, Skype gets confused and thinks you are calling yourself, and the call will always ring busy.
If you have tried the former, you will need to please contact Skype customer service for further assistance.

Skype number is busy when people try to call me ?p...

When i got my skype number it was busy when someone tried to call me and my skype was online . I changed my skype to only friends on skype list logged out for 5 minutes then logged in and changed it back to everyone can contact me. Been 3 days now and still no joy on my chefdamo account

I sympathise with you on this subject. I have been with Skype for 5 years or more.. I have the unlimited calls to Canada & Usa for $3/month. The service is getting better . I've paid for an american online number for over three years and now dropped it... Always hoping Skype would finally give us a Canadian list of area codes from which to chose... I recently bought a telephone adaptor that connects directly to my router so I don't need anymore to have my computer turned on so I can use the phone...
You know what ? I think Skype does not care a bit about us Canadians.... I have stopped believing they will ever put in the cash and effort in to get us Canadian telephone codes...
The solution : I'll soon get either a MagicJack+ or a NetTalk system... They both offer Canadian telephone codes and they both cost less than Skype for unlimited calls to Canada and USA.... They also both connect directly to your router so you don't need to have a computer running to originate or receive calls with any normal house phone....
I have friends that use both MagicJack+ and NetTalk and I can assure you the service is at least as good if not better than Skype. A Canadian Online number is important to me and getting a different service seems to me the only way to get it.

I can not get connected as the ABS keeps trying to dial up(the old phone number). When I tried to change my network settings an annoying popup window says "your network settings have been changed by another application'. I have no idea what the message is all about and when I close this window it immediately pops up again and prevents me -as far as I can tell -from changing my Airport settings? I need advice on how to get this wireless setup done. Maybe a reset? or something else? I have the DSL phone line plugged into WIndsteam Seimens Speedstream 4200 modem and then the ethernet (yellow) wire from the WIndsteam Seimens Speedstream 4200 modem to the port on the dome that is a circle of dots.

1)Can you explain how using the AEBS as a bridge will work with the Seimens Speedstream4200?
As a bridge, the AEBS will basically become a wireless access point. This will allow the AEBS to provide a wireless network, but still allow the Speedstream to provide NAT & DHCP services for the wireless clients connected to the AEBS. If the AEBS was left as a router, you would have a double-NAT condition which isn't necessary bad in itself, but would create a second subnet. That would make it more difficult for clients connected to the AEBS to access clients connected to the Speedstream.
2) Is there a link that will guide me through the steps to set the AEBS as a bridge?
You can easily reconfigure the AEBS as a bridge using the AirPort Utility.
ref: AirPort Utility > Select the AEBS > Manual Setup > Internet > Internet Connection > Connection Sharing = Off (Bridge Mode)
3)Can I just connect the DSL phone line to the AEBS and eliminate the Speedstream4200?
Unfortunately no. The AEBS does not have a built-in DSL modem. You will still need the Speedstream to provide this function.
