When my iphone is plugged in and connected to itunes now, it shows audio is on my phone (taking up space) but none of my music shows up in my library for the phone. It says "Zero Items." My music is still on my phone as well! Why is this happening all of a sudden? Everything is updated: itunes, iphone, macbook...
If your computer is running Windows, go to Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Services. Check to see if "Apple Mobile Device" Service is Started. If not right click on this service and select Start. Also make sure Startup type is set to Automatic. If not, right click on this service, select Properties and set it to Automatic.

"Other" is anything that does not fit into the rest of the sections. This can include pictures taken with the device, SMS/MMS history, iOS, application data, and sometimes corrupted files.
If "Other" has grown extremely large, like over 1GB, try a restore first from backup. This should significantly reduce the size. Cleaning up old SMS/MMS messages will also go a long way towards reducing the size. -

If you have performed a sync with the device since you restored this old backup, then don't bother looking for another backup. iTunes writes over the last backup each time you sync. If you were handling contacts in iCloud, you would find them by logging into iCloud. Or you can check settings and iCloud and see if the button it on for Contacts. Otherwise it might have been on the computer, if you had a program that syncs with iTunes and handles contacts, depending on the computer system you use. If Windows, it would be Windows Contacts or Outlook. If a Mac, there is a Mac Address book as well.

My Iphone is plugged into my computer and the chargins icon in the top left corner of my phone illuminates, but the iphone doenst show up under "devices" in Itunes.

I am wondering if I need to eject my iPhone from iTunes or if it is fine to unplug the phone without ejecting.
If it's connected to your computer and synced with iTunes you should eject it. If it's only plugged into a wall outlet and not your computer, just unplug it (since there's nothing to eject it from).

I cant seem to get cd's that I have uploaded onto my iphone 5 via itunes. I have tried to highlight the items and drag and drop them into my phone but this isnt working...; This is really starting to frusterate me!!!

click on the black arrow in the search box and untick Search Entire Library
Now you should be able to drag and drop onto your phone or use the sync pages

When my iphone is plugged into my mac I can only view the songs on it in a list. I sync my music manually so I can add or delete a song with ease. I can view the songs on the mac in list, cover flow etc but when I look on the iphone within itunes, these options are all greyed out and I can only see the songs in a list. I have nearly 500 songs on it at the moment and it is hard to easily see which albums are on the iphone. Any help gratefully received!Unfortunately, you cannot change the view of your audio tracks.

I have songs on my iPhone 6 that I can't remove and when I plug into iTunes and go to "Summary" and "On This Device" the songs don't show up but they are on my phone. How do I remove them? Not even sure how they got on actually since I have a iTouch and keep all my music there. HELP!!
Have you tried deleting the songs from Settings?
Settings -> General -> Usage -> Manage Storage (not the iCloud link!) -> Music and then click Edit to enable you to be able to delete. -
A song I purchased shows up in iTunes, but will not show up on my iPhone. When the phone is plugged into the computer, iTunes shows that it is on my iPhone, but it is not. How do I get that song to show up on my iPhone?

please help!! my iphone 4 battery died then when i tried to charge it the plug into itunes came up as my phone has gone into recovery mode for some stupid reason! i have tried tinyumbrella as itunes is giving me no other option but to restore, i dont want to restore as i have very important photos of my babies that i havnt backed up yet and CANT loose!! iv tried holding the 2 buttons intogether but that doesnt work either ! there is bound to be a way around this without loosing my photos. im tamping with apple, this shouldnt happen ! aswell as worring bout loosing all my photos and now i have no phone so am paying for a contract that doesnt even work . please please please helppppppp ! x
If your phone is in recovery mode, all the data on it, including those photos, is already lost. Leaving important photos on a phone for any length of time, such as baby pictures, as you've found out is a terrible idea.
You've no option but to restore your phone. -
Have iphone 3g with 5.0 I downloaded 5.01 for phone and itunes latest download. Had errors on download and needed to restore. Everything came back except apps.
Pluged into itunes and it gave me the restore screen. restored again. Now when i plug into itunes it shows my phone but freezes up. I need to use task master to close itunes. Went to apple store tech. No help said to use Icloud but no WiFi is available. My wife's phone works fine with itunes.Basic troubleshooting steps clearly outlined in the User Guide are restart, reset, restore from backup, restore as new device.
If you have gone through ALL the above steps and are still having problems, then you'll need to bring your phone into Apple for evaluation. -
please help! my iphone randomly went unresponsive, when plugged into itunes it flashes apple logo and itunes doesnt recognise it and when plugged into the mains its in recovery mode, asks to be connected to itunes, but immediately turns off when unplugged from mains
You could try to do a hard reset, sometimes resetting the phone helps. Hold down the sleep/wake button on the top and the home button until you see the apple logo, this make take a minute or two but this might help.
