I have so many charges that just came in this morning, I have tried multiple times to get in touch w/ Apple by chat, online and phone with absolutely NO LUCK. You can turn off in-app purchases on your iPad via Settings > General > Restrictions > In-App Purchases 'off', and depending upon what version of iOS that you have on it you may have a Require Password option on the Restrictions screen that you can set to 'Immediately' (there is a default 15 minutes during which it doesn't need to be re-entered). -
I just downloaded the new io6 to my iPad and I seem to have lost my account balance. Does anyone know where it went or how to retrieve it?
I was having the same issue and was looking googling for answers. I accidentally figured it out...click on the 'book' icon. It will display a reading and favorite list. Hit the top bar to the left..and all of a sudden the bookmarks are there.
I can't seem to set it back to give you the exact instructions but I am happy to have the bookmarks back. Hope that helps you! -
Everytime I click on the bookmark on my facebook page to open farmville it will not open but tells me that the page is not there and the connection is not available. And since I have updated to Firefox 4 my facebook page is super slow loading which is causing me to lose out on numerous things that I try to collect for my games. Do I need to delete Firefox 4 and go with something else? Chrome or something others have good things to say about? Firefox was great before the last 2 updates and I hate to say it but it is horrible now. I need this problem with opening my farmville game fixed now because it will cost me if I cannot open it. Hopefully something will be done right away.

my wife was using another application and when she minimized this app, firefox was updating without any prompting to us, which I thought was unusual. The "new' firefox page just doesn't look right. The Norton toolbar is no longer there, and, most curious of all, our persona background, which we've used for a very long time, was not there. When I try to change the background, I cannot. I am concerned that a hacker may be impersonating firefox. Am I being paranoid or is this a common problem?

I am sick of dealing with this issue. I wish not that I had never even started using any Apple products, beginning with iTunes. WHEN IS APPLE GOING TO ADDRESS THIS ISSUE AND MAKE ITUNES SOMEHOW COMPATIBLE WITH DEP IN WINDOWS VISTA?
That being said, Is there any way to resolve this? What I did in the past is completely wipe ALL Apple files from my computer, and install an older version of iTunes. It was at least functional. It seems that any version of iTunes 10.0 or more recent is not compatible with the Data Execution Prevention in Windows. You can not remove iTunes from DEP, yet DEP prevents iTunes from running.
The down side is that I can't get the latest updates for my iPhone or iPod. Now, I have a new phone for my husband that needs syncing on my iTunes, and I can't do that because iTunes won't even open.
Can somebody help me out with this, please?OK, lets do a complete overhaul to make sure it's working ok.
First to check your Windows system file for any corruption:
Go to command prompt (START/ALL PROGRAMS/ACCESSORIES right mouse click "command prompt" and choose "Run as Administrator"
type in
sfc /scannow
let Windows fix any system files that need to be repaired.
Restart the computer.
Start iTunes and see if it is ok.
If it doesn't, will have to go through the whole process of uninstalling and installing acccording to the following steps:
1. Go to Microsoft website to fix install and Unistall problems. Click "Run now" from Fix it to remove all iTunes & related installer files:

Be aware that Windows Installer CleanUp Utility will not remove the actual program from your computer. However, it will remove the installation files so that you can start the installation, upgrade, or uninstall over.
2. You should remove all instances of iTunes and the rest of the components listed below:
it may be necessary to remove all traces of iTunes, QuickTime, and related software components from your computer before reinstalling iTunes.
Use the Control Panel to uninstall iTunes and related software components in the following order:
iTunes
QuickTime
Apple Software Update
Apple Mobile Device Support
Bonjour
Apple Application Support (iTunes 9 or later)

3. Reboot your computer. Next, download iTunes from here:http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/ and install from scratch -
before I downloaded 4.0 I used to be able to use more options with my work email, Lotus notes....now I get all kinds of errors....I never had any problems with the previous version.
Firefox 3.6 will still be supported with security updates for a while, so if you don't want to work on troubleshooting the specific problems, you can roll back.
First, make a backup of your computer for safekeeping. To back up Firefox, see [https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Backing+up+your+information Backing up your information].
Next, download and save Firefox 3.6 to your desktop for future installation. http://www.mozilla.com/firefox/all-older
Close Firefox 4, and uninstall it. Do not remove your personal data and settings, just the program.
Then finally you can reinstall Firefox 3.6. Unless you have installed an incompatible add-on, it should pick up where you left off. If there are serious issues, please post back with details.
Note: I haven't actually tried this myself!

As mentioned above I have just downloaded OSX Maverick to my iMac. I am now having a lot of problems with iCloud. I get the message that "This iMac can't connect to iCloud because of a problem with, and then it goes on to quote my e-mail address. It then says to open iCloud preferences to fix this problem.
I do this and no matter what I seem to do this message continues to return.
Can anybody explain how to resolve this problem (please bear in mind that I am noy very computer literate).

every time i try to install iunes on my windows computer, it says that the itunes helper was not intalled or itunes support was not installed and that i need to reinstall itunes, i keep doing that but nothing changes. Any suggestions?
Let's try a standalone Apple Application Support install. It still might not install, but fingers crossed any error messages will give us a better idea of the underlying cause of the issue.
Download and save a copy of the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64setup.exe) installer file to your hard drive:

Download and install the free trial version of WinRAR:
http://www.rarlab.com/
Right-click the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64Setup.exe), and select "Extract to iTunesSetup" (or "Extract to iTunes64Setup"). WinRAR will expand the contents of the file into a folder called "iTunesSetup" (or "iTunes64Setup").
Go into the folder and doubleclick the AppleApplicationSupport.msi to do a standalone AAS install.
Does it install properly for you?

I really hate having to use two windows instead of being able to use tabs.
Uninstall the Ask toolbar and it should work again. There is a compatibility issue with the Ask toolbar and Firefox that prevents new tabs from being opened.
There are a couple of places to check for the Ask toolbar:

I saw others have this problem a few times...and people are trying to have them do all kinds of stuff to fix it. This is one of my errors:

Does that for everything. And sometimes it has a double confirmation to go to the site anyway. Other times it will not let you go to a site no matter what.
So I came here and I realized what it was on my own after reading some complicated fixes people suggested to others who posted this problem.
Look at the date...not on your phone...on the computer with the problem.
So you guys may wanna make part of the warning message mention to make sure the date is correct on your computer. Also you would think a program connected to the internet with access to the correct time would not go by the computers clock. Or maybe you should make it verify the date online when this error occurs so the error message could tell the user what's wrong...or at least let him go to a website. Or maybe not even scare the user with a totally bogus security warning.I know I said I figured it out it's just stupid and I wanted others to see the easy solution. So my computers date was 2009 and a current 2014 security certificate was ruled unsafe by firefox. That's logic for ya. Maybe only consider the cert expired when it's PAST the expiration date. You know like read the definition of expired. I think they have it backwards.

Just downloaded PE12 and paid and got serial number - Now problems with validation
As mentioned in the title I have bought a license for updating PE 11 to PE 12. I received the serial number and I downloaded the program.
Started the installation and when prompted to inset the serial number, which I do, I get the following warning:
