When on speakerphone, caller cannot hear me.

When using the ear piece, everything is fine, but when I put it on speaker, the caller cannot hear me.

This may be your microphone or his problem. What version of iOS are you running? Is he able to hear other callers of have sound at all? What version of iOS is he on?

Remove the protective plastic film that the phone was packed with, covering the mic,.

Same issue on my wife's iPhone 4S. I suspect it is related to the recent 6.1.2 iOS update (Note: I have a 3S and the update did not cause any issues).
I've tested both bottom and top mics on the 4S using video recorder and both mics work fine. Speakerphone and headset during calls also work fine. The issue is only related to the bottom mic while making calls. I can hear the caller but the caller cannot hear me. If I hold the mic very close to my mouth, the caller can hear a very low level signal.
The problem appears to be software related, not hardware.

  • Blackberry 8220 Flip Black problems with Bluetooth headsets/caller cannot hear me

Problems with 3 headsets. Eralier it was working fine. but now I can hear the caller but the caller cannot hear me or anything from my side over the bluetooth headset. Otherwise without the headset the phone and the speakerphone work just fine. Any ideas????

I am experiencing the same problem, started about 10 days ago. To date, I have reset network settings, and have restored to default without success.
The weird thing with my issue I've noticed, after I go through a half dozen attempts at calling and recalling the person back, eventually, the problem goes away and the caller can hear me without issue after that. But then that may just be the 50% of the time occurrence.
So, I wonder if this is signal related, although it has occurred in 3 different locations in the US. Or if there is some restricted, or privacy policy that is related to AT&T regarding my account when calling. Kind of like being on a no fly list?
However, I can't continue with this happening, everyone says I am give Steve Jobs a bad name, so its to the genius bar or whatever they call it these days, I am heading.

  • Iphone 4 - big problem during calls -   caller cannot hear me

    Dear All,
I have a very big problem with my brand new Iphone 4. I bought it in UK and I'm using it in Poland with Orange sim card. Randomly, during calls (signal strength is not an issue in this case) my caller cannot hear me at all. I still can hear any single word but they think that call is finished (dropped). I did the restore but problem remained. Is there anybody with the same problem?

    Hi Saint,
It is possible that the creen is activating during the call and your ear is touching the mute button. There appears to be a problem with the iP4's proximity sensor not always actuating when the screen is close to the ear - this can result is so-called 'face dialling'. There is an enormous thread dealing with this exact problem elsewhere on these forums:
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=2475509&tstart=15
Fwiw, I also suffer this problem.
Having said all that, maybe you problem is something else. Hope it helps.
    Regards,
    Richard.

  • Can anyone help me on this problem? Caller cannot hear me , but i can hear caller voice?

I'm new to IP 4; caller cannot hear me - but i can hear caller>> is this a network problem or phone problem?

    hi noor zilawati,
    Just for your info,
1)Pls do try to turn off n on the phone for up to 5  times. ( to reboot the program )
Maybe you need to take out the battery n put in back again. Just be patient.  The phone may not be okay straight away. Maybe after a day or two , the phone will go back to normal operation.
    2) Try using the handfree set or earphone. If it is working, this shows your phone is ok. Maybe you have to bear with the inconvenience of using the earphone for a day or two.
    3) Remember, if you send back to the supplier like digi, maxis or celcom -  the technician over there will do just the same. They will say they need to send your phone back to factory or they will ask you to register the complaint
and ask you to wait for the spare parts.
    4) IF IT IS POSSIBLE, JUST ASK THEM TO REPLACE A NEW PHONE FOR YOU ! DEMAND YOUR RIGHTS!
Hope the above  is helpful to you.
    Best regards,
    Hugh

  • Why the caller cannot hear from me?

The caller cannot hear from me. Hardware or software prob?

    Hello Vanchoo,
I was researching possible causes for the issue you describe here, and found a resource that will help resolve it if this is due to software. It is from our iPhone Troubleshooting Assistant found here: http://www.apple.com/support/iphone/assistant/phone.
Sections 1, 3, and 5, are what I recommend. And on step 3, close ALL the open apps.
Here is section 1 to get you started:
    Restart iPhone
To restart iPhone, first turn iPhone off by pressing and holding the Sleep/Wake button until a red slider appears. Slide your finger across the slider and iPhone will turn off after a few moments.
Next, turn iPhone on by pressing and holding the Sleep/Wake button until the Apple logo appears.
Is iPhone not responding? To reset iPhone, press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least 10 seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
If your device does not turn on or displays a red battery icon, try recharging next.
You can also use the Voice Memo app to test the functionality of the microphone.
    Take care,
    Sterling

  • I can hear caller but caller cannot hear me

I can hear caller but caller cannot hear me unless I turn speaker on

Try inserting and removing the earphone plug several times. Also make sure the lightning connector is clean.

  • When I place a call and activate the speakerphone on iPhone 4 (AT&T), the person being called cannot hear me.

My son has an iPhone 4 (AT&T) and when he makes a speakerphone call, he can hear the person he is calling but the other party cannot hear him. So it appears that the microphone used for the speakerphone function is not operating. The phone works perfectly for all other functions. We have tried a network reset as well as a complete wipe of the phone and the problem persists. Any suggestions?

When you say "shift to speaker mode" are tapping on "speaker" icon thta appears on the screen when you take the phone away from your ear? IF so go to settings/general/accessibility/incoming calls and check "default"

  • X-Fi when Headphones are in, cannot hear speakers!

In the Creative Console Launcher, under Speakers and Headphones, I set it to 2/2. Speakers, but it still ONLY plays out of the headphones if the headphones are plugged in. Is there some setting I missed that will allow me to get audio out of both my speakers and headphones simultaneously? If not, I'm afraid I'll have to return this device since I can't easily reach it to constantly plug and unplug wires!!!

I guess I'm having very bad luck with this! None of the programs from the SB X-Fi disc which installed have an Uninstall option in the Start menu, or in their respecti've folders in Program Files under Creative. I also checked Add/Remove Programs, and they did not make it on that list either. I finally went into Control Panel to Sound and Audio Devices, Hardware, selected SB X-Fi Surround 5./Properties, Driver, Uninstall. This has got to be one of the WORST programs I have ever used! So I restarted my computer after uninstalling the drivers, but kept the X-Fi card plugged in. Windows recognized it immediately and said the drivers were already installed... Well I know they aren't so I popped in the disc with the drivers [again] and proceeded to reinstall them. This time it froze at 5% and then give me a slew of errors, probably because it did not uninstall correctly - which I had no way of uninstalling. Honestly, the worst product I have ever used in my life! Had to restart my computer [again]. I am trying one last thing and if that does not work, I'm returning this product... I got the latest driver off of Creatives' website for this product and am attempting to install that. If that does not work, then I will never use another Creative product again, nor recommend them to anyone!
Oh yeah, I tried downloading those unofficial files, but they took me to a RapidShare rip-off that wanted me to wait for 30-minutes for each file, and when I waited and clicked the link, it took me to another link, which took me to another link, which took me back to the first [expleti've] page to start downloading the file again... Unbelievable.

  • I cannot hear callers unless using speakerphone. the phone is not on mute, the problem has started for no apparent reason and rebooting has not resolved the problem. Any ideas?

My iphone 4 (Model MD128B/A) running iOS 7.1.2 has developed a problem when receiving calls, for no apparent reason. The caller can hear me, but unless I switch to speakerphone, I cannot hear them. The mute button still functions normally. I have rebooted the phone but this has not resolved the issue. Any ideas about how to resolve this problem? Thanks.

    Hello manleyjohn,
Welcome to the Apple Support Communities!
I understand that you are unable to hear callers though the receiver on your iPhone 4 unless you change the sound to the speaker. In this situation, I would recommend reading over the attached article and verifying that the troubleshooting steps have been completed. If the issue continues, it may be necessary to follow the link towards the bottom of the article and contact Apple Support.
