Yes. I would clarify your statement about the "shared" iTunes Library though. If you want each iOS device to have its own music library, you should create separate user accounts for them. Read:

Try:
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Unsync/delete all music and resync
To delete all music go to Settings>General>Usage>Storage>Music>Tap edit in upper right and then tap the minus sign by All Music
- Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
- Restore from backup. See:
iOS: Back up and restore your iOS device with iCloud or iTunes
- Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
If still problem, make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

We are now officially a mac household. My husband has an ipad 2, my 2 kids have minis and I have the new ipad retina. But how do we setup these devices so all of us can share the apps and music but keep the contacts, emails and messaging unique to the user?
My kids are 7 and 10 so I want to be able to give them access but not the ability to purchase anything on their own. Any ideas?Yes. Can any one help me get rid of a deleted app 4oD that still appears in the Settings list. I deleted it from the home screen and Spotlight search confirms it has gone. It is causing problems because I get notified of updates and I cannot get rid of them either. I have tried re-downloading via my MacBook because there isn't a download option from the iPad (App Store clearly think I still have it when I don't) then deleting again but the listing in Settings remains.
It is really irritating me.

Hi all I'm new here.
My issue goes something like this. When I use the standard music app to play some of my music (MOST from Beatport) on about half of the songs, my iPod will freeze and become unresponsive for up to a half minute. After that, it normally brings me back to the playlist song selection that I was looking at previously. I have an iPod Touch 5th Generation that is running iOS 6.1.2. I have only three playlists, but all of the three have over 500+ unique songs on them. (I normally don't keep duplicates of songs on my iPod) I started to have this problem when I upated my old iPod Touch 4th Generation to iOS 6.0.0. Ever since I got that update, half of my songs have not and will not play.
I have tried numerous times to reset my iPod (4th and 5th) and I even re-installed everything without using a backup.
Any help as to what will fix my problem?If you restored to factory settings/new iPod and still have the problem that indicates a hardware problem.

Why does the Music app play videos too?

I have been an iPod, iPhone and iPad user for quite some time, but I have always loaded my music into iTunes and transferred it manually.
Last week I took the plunge and bought my first iTunes album *applause*. I love it! Quality is awesome.
However, the album that I bought, has 5 audio tracks, and 5 video tracks. Now when I playback the album on my iPad or iPhone, it plays both the audio and video tracks. So effectively, I listen to each song twice.
This may be a stupid question but, how do I stop the music app from playing the videos?

I Want to purchase music and put it on my iPad 2. the store gives you options to upload. Which upload option will go to my music app on ipad2?
IF you purchase music in the iTunes Store app on the iPad, it will download directly into the Music App. Is that what you are asking? The phrase about the store giving options has me a little confused. What options are you presented with?

There should be no issues. Its designed to work like that. You don't change Apple IDs just because you get a new device.

If you buy an App, you have 2 ways to get it to the iPhone6: If Automatic Downloads is enabled in Settings->iTunes & App Store, it will automatically download to the iPhone 6 when you buy it on the 5 and vice versa if you buy it on the 6, it will download to the 5.
Alternatively, you can simply go to the App Store App->Updates->Purchased and look for the App there and download it. Purchased Apps will not require payment again. i.e They'll be free to download to the iPhone 6 once purchased.
SMS Messages will sync over using Continuity as long as they are on the same Wifi network. Otherwise, restoring the iPhone 5 backup to the iPhone 6 will transfer all messages received up until the backup was made onto the iPhone 6.
Images, can be transferred either through Photo Stream

If you want the Continuity features as explained above you need to update the iPhone 5 to iOS 8. Otherwise its not all that important. -

No.
One of you create a new AppleID and one use the existing AppleID.
But you can still use the items in each iTunes library.
Create separate computer logins for each of you.
This will give you each your own data. Contacts, calendars, photos, etc. (and your own iTunes library). -
I have two children each with an ipod which has FaceTime - I have the iphone 4s with FaceTime. All of these devices are connected to itunes through the one account. How do I set up the FaceTime on the two ipods so as it doesn't ring both of them?
I started to do that then it said that this will become their apple I.D or similar and then I thought that will disconnect them from the same iTunes? I want them still on my iTunes as they are only young (8 and 10)? Or have I got this all wrong and even if I do set them up with a different e-mail will they still be on my itunes? There is no such warning on the Irish Apple site.!
My point was that, I would not have even considered trying to reorganize my itunes library had I known that the feature is not available in Ireland.
And that falls into the domain of Apple Ireland advertising.. which I"m sorry to say is false and misleading.
There are no "posters" telling the Irish customer that icloud / itunes music is not available!
I"m not blaming Apple for not "having the feature" in Ireland.. I am upset at them for falsing advertising a feature that they cannot for whatever reason deliver to Irish customers..

I would like to add family members to my existing apple id that is used for my iCloud account. All of the family members already have existing apple ids. Can I make these existing apple ids part of my family? I have tried this, but "verifying" the apple id always fails with "existing family member" or an error something to the effect "unable to do at this time, try again later."
