When Photoshop CC is executed, the first File- Open takes 30 seconds and every File- Open after that is instant. Why is this?
I have Photoshop CC in my Laptop. When I first load it/execute photoshop, File -> Open it takes approx 30 seconds to return a selection. If I do another File -> Open after this it is instant.
If I Quit Photoshop and reload it the first File -> Open takes another 30 seconds and then instant. It is only the first Occurrence.
I have a Samsung 840 EVO 250GB SSD 4GB RAM.
If I do start -> Photoshop -> Previously used file it loads no problem.
If I try the same things with Photoshop CS5 no problem.
Why?
Forgot to add that I am running windows 7 x64 if that makes a difference.
I have found the problem. I disconnected the internet from my laptop and it worked instantly. So Adobe you need to improve your response times on this facet of the login as it is a pain.
Now I will stop looking for problems with my system....
Please advise if there is a work around...

Looking at my dbus messages above, the following section from pacman.log looks very suspicious:
$ grep disk /var/log/pacman.log

OK, the symptoms can be replicated with the following command sequence:
sudo /etc/rc.d/dbus restart
udisks --dump # <-- this takes forever.. 24 seconds on my system
udisks --dump # <-- any subsequent calls finish instantly, 0.043 seconds on my system

You can import the videos and photos using iPhoto or Image Capture on your Mac.
Connect the iPad to the Mac with the cable and launch either of those two applications on the Mac. Your iPad should appear as a device in the left side of the app. Click on the iPad name and then you should have access to all of the photos and Vidoes in the camer roll and you can import them onto the Mac.
Im not sure what the reference is to Power Point in this case. You can use the imported photos and videos in a Power Point presentation after you import them to the Mac.
Are you trying to create a Slide Show on the iPad? Is that what you mean by a Power Point presentation? -

How to execute the first program without using SUBMIT and RETURN

My requirement is , I need to select thet value from VA02 at runtime and need to pass that value to VF01 transaction and press save then it creates proforma document.The created document we can see in VA02 by clicking on document flow.
My program is processed through OUTPUT TYPE.
To get this functionality i written coding like this.
1) i am selecting the value at runtime from VA02 using FORM ROUTINE.Now iam passing this selected value to VF01 for
genarate proforma document using BDC.Here the problem is,first time when i am selecting the value form VA02 at runtime it is in open status,now my BDC code need to update the value in VA02 only.so locking problem occurres the document is not getting updated.
To overcome this problem i have done changes like this......
2) i splited my program into two parts, that is into two programs.
a) In first program i am only selecting the value form VA02 at runtime using FORM ROUTINE and in this program i have written SUBMIT statement to call another program there my BDC code will create documet and update in VA02,upto here everything is doing fine,
But here again the problem is when i process OUTPUT type my program is triggering and giving correct result but the status is not changing form YELLOW to GREEN.Why means when SUBMIT statement trigger, control is going to second program and creating a new document,but not coming to first program so the status is not changing as the first prohram is still processing. .If i write RETURN along with SUBMIT the VA02 is in open STATUS only, till control comes to first program.so it will not uodate document in VA02.
If i execute all line in my program status will automatically change from YELLOW to GREEN how to acheive this
please suggest me the solution.I would do 2 things:
1) be sure to do a COMMIT WORK AND WAIT
2) refresh your display in calling program
the point 2) can be done by submitting the program again (or the transaction) with the same parameters -

I am running Photoshop CS6 on a Mac OS X 10.9.3 and every time I save a large eps I can not open it again. I get this message when I try. "Could not complete your request because Photoshop was unable to parse the PostScript."
Oh, dear.
If you use PSE as your external editor for iphoto, you need to save the images back to iphoto by using Save, not Save As and not changing anything like the name or format that would bring up the Save As window. (You may need to adjust the editor prefs>saving files>on first save to save over existing.)
OR you can export the photos from iphoto to the desktop, use file>open in the editor and then change whatever you want and either import the saved image to the organizer or import it back to iphoto as a new file. What you are doing is extremely risky, particularly to the iphoto library which you may easily damage by your workflow.
I would start the organizer holding down the shift key, then create a new catalog and switch to the new one. Then try opening the editor without opening an image and see if you get any farther.
PSE and iphoto are not designed to be used as you've been doing. You are trying to write to the iphoto library from outside iphoto, which is the fastest known way to corrupt the library and lose all your photos. -
Event gets lost when iView is uncompressed for the first time
Hi All,
we are developing an application that manages attachments (meaning: files stored in KM) and per request by the client consists of several iViews. One of them contains a search interface, another one lists the hits that have been found. So the iViews have to communicate.
We achieved the funcionality by using portal eventing and the HTTP session. The search iView compiles the search string and writes it to the session.
request.getComponentSession().getHttpSession().setAttribute(searchString, .....);
We then use javascript to fire an event on which the searchResult iView reacts and fetches the searchString from the session. The actual search is then performed within the searchResult-iView.
The only problem is that the client requested that the searchResult iView should initially be collapsed. So we set its "initial display" property to "collapsed" and implemented some javascript functionality in the search iView that expands the searchResult iView when a search is performed:

All works fine, except for the very first time the searchRersult iView is expanded after the application (meaning the page containing the iViews) has been opened. The searchResult iView is properly expanded, but the event seems to get lost so that no search is being performed (no error, but no reaction by the iView).
We observed that it seems as if the contents of the iView are only fetched by the browser when it's expanded for the first time. (The progress bar of the browser shows loading activity when expanding the iView for the first time). Supposedly the event gets lost because the serachResult iView doesn't fetch it since it's just being loaded.
After this initial erroneous behavior, the iView can be in compressed or expanded state before a search is being performed and everything works fine.
Interestingly enough the problem can be resolved by setting a timeout of several seconds after expanding the iView and before firing the search event. But we find this to be a very questionable (and inconvenient) method of solving this problem and would rather like to solve it properly.
Does anyone have any ideas how we could achieve this? Is there a way to determine whether an iView has been loaded by the browser (because obviously displaying and loading an iView seem to be two different things)?

JensWe introduced a boolean "isInitial" flag to the bean which we use to determine whether the iView is expanded for the first time or not. If so, there is a timeout of 2 seconds before the event is fired.

The recommendation is always to make another ID for use with a paid books account. And while I can't swear this is at the root of your issue, you should in any case reach out to Apple for assistance on this one, I think.

attempted to mail an email with a large attachment file. One of the addresses was bad. When my Outlook is running, the Mac tries to send it and shows the progress. However, when I look in my Outbox the files are not there. It does show up in the Outbox progress section but I can not delete it when it is there.
Where do these files reside?
Is there a hidden Outbox??

I have an iPad air and have downloaded the microsoft app excel. I have an email with an excel attacment. When I "tap to download" the attachment, it automatically converts to a PDF file and opens as a "view only" document. I want it to open with the excel app so I can see and update the spreadsheet. Please help. Thanks!
If Excel works as do other apps, you should be able to tap and hold on the attachment and then select "Open in Excel" in the window that will open. Note that you need to be subscribed to and signed into Office 365 to be able to edit documents in Microsoft's apps.

When reading my downloaded paper the Safari page sometimes comes up and I have to press the Home button and start all over again but same thing happens. I even made sure the paper download was the first thing I did on my Ipad and that no other apps were open.
