When printing forms it switches my printer to 'offline'

I've created a couple of forms and when I go to print them, they won't print.  Instead they switch my printer setting to offline.  If I switch it back to online, it simply returns an error message and won't print.
I've had this problem with other forms, including Adobe created forms.
Does anyone know why and what I can do to fix this?
Thanks,
Peta

Turns out the problem was my printer or printer driver.
So I'll take this one off the outstanding list.

No printing :I can't print anymore, printing the same file with another program is ok, printing form LR (in the same system and printer of course :-) ): Preparing  and Printing indicatorbar in the left hand upper corner are running and completing, but no output at all to my printer. I have been printing before. Next I upgraded to LR5.7.1 but the problem stays. Perhaps some adjustment is changed by me unintentionally, but I have no idea. Does anybody know what to check? Printing to file is also strange, the canvas only seems to accept A4, and crops any image relative to that size, so a 10x15 cm print on 10 x 15 cm paper is cropped to 10x15/2. Anybody any idea? (system win 8.1 64, printer HP B8550)

I accidentally solved my mystery.  For some reason it was set to "print to file".  I changed it to "printer" and now I am able to print.

  • Adobe print form on dot matrix printer

Has anyone tried to print adobe forms into a dot matrix printer i.e. printing multi-part documents. I've read that the device type supported are PostScript, PCL, PDF and ZPL. The help file specifically mentioned that SAPWIN device type won't be supported, but it does not mentioned explecitly weather ASCII device type or device type for dot matrix/impact printer is supported or not.
I'm still holding up hope that adobe print forms scenario will be able to do this since we are planning to go ahead with 100% adobe form solution.
    Any info would greatly appreciated.

The supported output formats of ADS are PostScript, PCL, PDF and ZPL. That means that your printer has to support one of the mentioned formats to be supported. So the answer to your question is no.

  • Printing form using dot matrix printer

    Dear experts,
I have a PO form and when printed using laser printer it works just fine, when use dot matrix printer with continuos form , the form's content started to be printed a bit lower compared to the laser printer, should i adjust the paper size in the se71 ?

    Hi Johannes,
We have been know to go directly into the printer defintion and adjust the Horizontal and Veritical Shift. This can be found on the Output Attributes in the Additional SAPScript and Smart Form Information area. We give our A4 printers a slight Negative Horizontal and Positive Vertical shift to better center the output on the different paper size.

  • Adobe Form output cropped when sent directly from SAP to printer

I have created an Adobe Form (not interactive) that looks perfectly OK when previewed in Adobe Acrobat viewer but when printed blank margins of 4-5 millimeters are applied on all 4 paper edges. The form was designed with a coloured frame around it but the margins effectively remove most of the frame. The form content is being cropped instead of being compressed inside the margins.
The form has been created with LiveCycle Designer via SAP transaction SFP. I am generating the form from an ABAP program
When the form is printed from the Adobe Acrobat viewer I have the option to set Page Scaling to 'Fit to Printable Area'. This makes the form content being compressed inside the blank margins and the coloured frame remains intact. If I leave the Page Scaling setting as 'None' the output is being cropped as described above.
The real problem occurs when I want to print without previewing first. I need to do that since previewing enables the user to skip printing and the application must know if the form has been printed or not. I have so far found no way to make the printer print on the paper edges or fit the content to printable area. Is there some setting in the output parameters than handles this?
Also there is a need for duplex printing when sending form directly to printer. On help.sap.com there is information about duplex print for SAPscript and Smartforms but nothing for Adobe Forms.
Here is an excerpt of the ABAP code used for printing the Adobe Form:

    Thanks for your answer, Ramachandra!
However I need some more specific information to solve this.
Which printer layout settings are relevant for the handling of margins and duplex printing for Adobe Forms?
I have not set up the printer myself but when talking to the printer guy which settings should I recommend him to look at?
I can see in transaction SPAD that there are settings specific to SmartForms but there is nothing said about Adobe Forms. Is there some way to make Adobe Forms related setting appear in SPAD for a device type?
Maybe my problem is not related to the printer device settings but rather to the way the printer is being called. When printing duplex we will have to override the default settings of the printer anyway.
Function module FP_JOB_OPEN has a parameter structure of the type SFPOUTPUTPARAMS. Which fields in this parameter structure are to be manipulated to get duplex print and output fitted to page size?

  • Printer timeout when printing forms

We recently switched to printing out payroll checks and EFT notices
directly from SAP using the spool output from RFFOUS_C and RFFOUS_T.
The checks/notices use HR forms and SAPscript. During testing we had
no printer timout problems but in the first full production run, the
printout ended after about 1000 pages of an over 2000 page spool job.
The last page was a partial form with some lines drawn but no other
output. The printer indicated that is was finished and ready for the
next output. SAP reported the job was finished but not complete.
The workaround we did was to print the spool by page ranges.
    We expect the error
is due to a printer timout between the SAP and printer connection. The
printer has 64mb of memory and we disabled the network timeout on it's
end. The printer is setup in SAP using Host Spool Access Method "U".
The destination host address and the host printer address are both the
IP address of the printer. We have reviewed notes 64628 and 12550 but
the documenation for printer setup is not clear as to the settings. We
    have the following questions:
Can the destination host address point to a printer network card
address or should it point to another server address for access
    method "U"?
Can the host name be changed to another server than what the SAP spool
is running on for access method "L"?
We would like to leave the SAP spool on the existing server but use the
host spool from a different server for performance reasons.

Turns out the problem was my printer or printer driver.
So I'll take this one off the outstanding list.

  • SOAP Runtime Exception: CSoapExceptionTransport when activ adobe Print Form

    Hi
I am trying to activate an Adobe Print Form, but I am getting the error "SOAP Framework error: SOAP Runtime Exception: CSoapExceptionTransport: HTTP send failed with exception communication_failure(100.101)".
I have searched the forum and can see several thread stating that this is a ADS Configuration/Basis error, but when we try to execute the test report it works just fine, so I am guessing the ADS is working quite fine, or ?
Any help / hints to fix this error will be very appreciated
    Regards
    Morten Nielsen

A year back I have experienced the same behaviour of my forms which were very large (30 pages at design time). After some time (number of changes I guess) they stopped working. I had to start all over from the last backup (that was few days ago once, what is a lot of work lost).
Why I would now do is:
    1) copy your form and try to activate the copy
    2) create a new form with the same interface, create some dummy layout with one field and try to activate
    3) do you have any older version of this form? Or you´ve created it just now and this is the first activation? if you have an older one, try that one

  • Radio Buttons & Check Boxes Replaced w/ Rectangles, when printing Form w/ Adobe Reader XI (11.0.03)

Hello.  I need to be able to print a .pdf copy of a completed web page form.  The form is completed by entering data into text boxes and text areas, and selecting various radio buttons and check boxes.  When the form is complete, it is saved, which converts the form into a .pdf file.
When I open the saved .pdf file, it looks completely normal.  I will then select the print button, which is built into the display window for the form.  The printed form will appear, but the radio buttons and check boxes will have been replaced with the outline of rectangles.
This is what the source form looks like, before printing:
This is what the printed image looks like, after printing.  NOTE: All check boxes and radio buttons (and the data that they contained) are gone:
I am not sure if this is a setting that needs to be changed in Adobe REader XI, or something else.
Please let me know what you think it might be.
    Thanks,
    Rick

    Michael,
    It is a web/html form.
The forms are built and used inside of a software program called WebEOC.
WebEOC is used to allow for sharing information between different
emergency response entities (like a State, and the counties within the
    State).
The form I am working with was built with a web page editing program.  The
form uses html, xhtml, xml, CSS and javascript.
A for user would launch the WebEOC form (after logging into WebEOC), and
they would fill out the form.  Text goes into text boxes and text areas,
dropdown menu selections are made, and some information is entered using
    radio buttons and check boxes.
When the form is complete, it is saved within the WebEOC database, as a
    .pdf file.
You can then open the .pdf file in order to see the form, in it's
    completed state, as a pdf.
When I try to pint this pdf file of the completed form, the check boxes
and radio buttons are replaced with rectangles.  Any selections made in
the radio buttons or checkboxes is lost.
    Thanks,
    Rick

  • Wrong dimensions when printing forms

    Hi there!
I know, I know, no one should be printing forms and killing trees but, you know, the client is always right...
So, this client is creating forms in LC Designer and part of these forms (around 300) will be printed.
They are very picky when it comes to milimetric precision, so they need the printed versin to be exactly the size they define in LC Designer.
Now, when printed, the forms do not keep the right size, even when setting the proportion as 100%.
Is there a way to fix this?
Thank you very much for any ideas!
